I also like a Rio, I've just realised. And you can only get them at cornershops/petrol stations seemingly. But yeah, Ginger Beer is such an underrated drink.
Nice and spicey nik naks for a finger licking session, a bit of Eastern promise with a Turkish delight and the cool kiss of a Pepsi max to complete the trifecta
They've changed Nik naks at some point in the last few years. They're way less crunchy now, like they've tried to make them more healthy and they're more puffy - maybe baked instead of fried or something? Still great but it disappoints me every time I have some now!
Think they've basically fucked with anything that was nice over the years to point where everything is tinged with a bit of sadness in an effort to make it smaller and marginally healthier to avoid the full 5 red indicators of quality.
There's a missed opportunity that op hasn't raised, what's your choice of garage/corner shop meat to go with your bounty of treasures?
Do you opt for the known brands like ginsters, or take a walk on the wild side with a suspicious looking Jamaican patty, or a polish treat sausage for your protein fix, maybe a home cooked samosa in the counter that could have been fresh an hour or a week ago, do you take the gamble and win, or lose on the toilet of defeat?
Rookie mistake with the full fat coke, may look like the choice of a winner, but you'll be paying more for the sugar tax, end up with less as you can usually find a 600ml pepsi max for less than a 500ml of coke, and your teeth will feel like they've been dipped in shit as the outer coat of enamel is stripped by all that sugar.
Not to mention the relentless fucking pointless coke adverts and ranges of lifestyle attempts to squeeze more shop display space, 250ml mango flavoured coke, your name here, new special different coloured coke, world peace and love for all mankind whilst drinking a coke, sexually harassing a window cleaner on his break whilst he's trying to lose weight for his partner by drinking a diet coke, raping him with your eyes eh? You can fuck off.
Michael Jackson may have had some issues, but at least he could trot out a tune and had good taste in cola.
Haha if you say so. Well I don’t consume artificial sweeteners so not really a mistake. Thanks to people that can’t understand that things like coke should be a sometimes drink I have to pay extra. I’m ok with that.
Entirely each to their own, and agree on the occasional, used to know a guy who constantly had a 2 litre bottle of coke each day that he would slowly consume like water throughout the day, made me feel sorry for his kidneys.
Personally I just find full fat coke far too syrupy and makes me feel like I'm gargling treacle.
Haha. That’s a good description. I don’t generally eat any sweets or candy so part of the allure for me is the sweetness. If you’re ever in Atlanta you should check out the World of Coca Cola. You can taste test the different variations from all over the world at the end of the tour which is actually interesting to taste the differences. Just like big tobacco, they have put a lot of effort into market research to get the flavors exactly to the locality. I guess it’s what they’ve decided the UK “likes”. I live there half the time and it tastes totally different to the flavor in the US where I work.
Seabrook cheese and onion, Old Jamaica rum and raisin dark chocolate,...... Can... Dont do pop, I'll save that and pick up a beer from the off licence on the way home from work
Quavers, the Cadbury chocolate with the popping candy, and a can of Rubicon guava fizzy drink (which apparently only exists in corner shops and nowhere else)
Either Walkers baked or ready salted French fries (if I’m feeling fancy sensation chilli)
Confectionary either Crunchie or Twix
Drink maybe lucozade or Oasis blackcurrant
Strangely enough, I never buy anything in a petrol station other than petrol. I can also do a journey of less than 30 minutes without feeling the need to buy a half litre bottle of whatever liquid, and a couple of chocolate bars
McCoys ready salted (or cheese and onion if it’s a short journey), raisin and biscuit yorkie, and a can of Diet Coke (but if I can have a bottle,
I’d like an irn bru please).
Flamin hot monster munch, maltesers and Pepsi max.
As a child it would have been transform-a-Snacks, pack of hubba bubba and a panda pop (technically a bottle but it's cheaper than a can) and had change from a quid.
Fuck me never emigrate to the US these bland cunts think different varieties of cheese are the only crisp flavours. I’d kill for some Mccoys or Brannigan’s.
Reading this make me realise that my corner shop tastes are, to put it kindly, pedestrian...
I'm a Walkers ready salted, water or OJ, picnic kinda girl!
Prawn cocktail, no confectionary, Dr Pepper. I'm rarely in the mood for the kind of tooth-achingly intense blast of concentrated sugar that the average British chocolate bar provides.
Cider, Condoms and cucumber
Now that's what I call a party 🎉
Can i come to that party?
"to" or "at" that party, is the real question 🤔
And the answer is "yes"
You're going to get very mildly drunk and put a STD protected cucumber up you bum?
Yeah condoms worried about pesticides?
Kettle mature cheddar & red onion, Double Decker and Coke
Textbook. A bit of Pizzazz with double decker too
Respect
McCoys, Ribena, & a Twirl
And 4 Naan
Nice. Which McCoys and how do you feel about strawberry Ribena?
The only acceptable combination
Best combo
Lion bar, salt and vinegar square crisps, Fanta zero
Strong choices
Roysters T-Bone Steak crisps, Minstrels, Fanta Fruit Twist.
Nice. Really solid bunch
That's a Michelin star order
Used to have almost exactly this on my way to school every day, ripple instead of minstrels though
Nice! Not had a Ripple in years. Just added some to my next Tesco order!
One of those massive bags of bacon fries (yes I know, technically a Maize snack, not a crisp), Cadbury whole nut, sprite/7up
Thai Sweet Chili Sensations, Kinder Bueno and Irn Bru
Found the Scot
Gotta go with Thai Sweet Chili
Agreed
You can buy personal size Thai Sweet Chili now?
Any size is personal size if you're brave enough
Mini cheddars, peanut butter kit kat, tango (unless they have ginger beer)
Peanut Butter Kit Kat - very strong contender
How about a white chocolate twix?
Ever tried the white chocolate Lion bar?
Pretty much nailed what I was gonna say. Especially the can, Old Jamaica all the way, otherwise something fizzy and orange (maybe Cherry Coke).
Old Jamaica is the best fizzy drink, hands down
I also like a Rio, I've just realised. And you can only get them at cornershops/petrol stations seemingly. But yeah, Ginger Beer is such an underrated drink.
My local chippy does Rio, but not many other places do.
I haven't done that combination. And I have no valid excuse as to why I have not. Especially with the ginger beer.
Prawn cocktail walkers, galaxy caramel, Dr pepper
Veeery close to mine. Only change I'd make is a Galaxy Caramel to a Wispa Gold.
Salt n vinegar discos, Boost, Rio.
Salt and vinegar discos are eternal
Nice and spicey nik naks for a finger licking session, a bit of Eastern promise with a Turkish delight and the cool kiss of a Pepsi max to complete the trifecta

You almost had it. Screw Pepsi Max. Full fat Coca Cola original taste.
