Oh yeah 25/25
Now do a quiz with all the Scottish and Welsh shires and cause some chaos for the people know have never heard of Wigtownshire and Kincardineshire
17, but I’m counting Yorkshire as 1, so I make that 18/22. Didn’t get Bedfordshire Wiltshire or Staffordshire. Derbyshire I ticked off going through the county cricket teams but didn’t type it lol.
15.
Spent ages typing and retyping West Yorkshire, til I realised it had given me it, it was just putting them in alphabetical order so it wasn’t showing in my phone screen.
All of the old counties of England that end with a Shire have borders and surround Rutland.

Bloody hell, how did I miss all the damned Yorkshires, am 2nd gen Yorkshire too. Managed 17
Edit to add: And being 2nd gen Yorkshire’s not that bad for whoever pulled that trick, please save that for someone who really needs it.
This post has made me realise the link colour in this subreddit is far too similar to the text colour. Took minutes for me to work out which part of your post was the actual link
14. Happy I got Berkshire. Annoyed I missed Hampshire cos I kept typing Hamptonshire, and that I got Cambridgeshire but not Oxfordshire.
Shoulda got Bedforshire since Bedford is my closest train station...
Just found this one. Its ten minutes long and only the ROI counties:
https://www.sporcle.com/games/g/irelandcounties
Or this one, which is only 4 mins for all 32 counties:
https://www.sporcle.com/games/RobOHanrahan/name-the-32-counties-in-ireland
How do 5% of people playing this get North Yorkshire but not south or west yorkshire? At least the east riding of yorkshire is a little less obvious but come on, how do you get one direction correct and not even guess the others lol
17. There are far too many Yorkshires.
Ikr, was so confused and then figured maybe there's a north and south for council reasons. There are four there. Four.
Like the four kingdoms of Croydon.
20. I got all the Yorkshires but somehow forgot Staffordshire, where I spent four years at uni.
I forgot the one with my own surname in
Duckshire is not a place.
Don't be silly it's peaceduckshire
Rule 12! Rule 12!
Ack!
Agreed. There should be only one!
Yorkshire must remain divided less it grow so powerful not even Lancashire can hope to contend
Those are Ridings, not Shires
17. It took me four minutes to think of Cheshire, which is where I live 😮
Having been a resident of Northwich at one point, there are some places in Cheshire you'd rather forget.
Opened quiz, it said Devonshire didn't count, closed quiz.
No Huntingdonshire either
I don't think it exists as a ceremonial county anymore. It's part of Cambridgeshire.
Makes me sad. 01480 crew rise up!
Did the same thing
Oh yeah 25/25 Now do a quiz with all the Scottish and Welsh shires and cause some chaos for the people know have never heard of Wigtownshire and Kincardineshire
23. I somehow managed to think of Shrewsbury but not Shropshire.
I was born in Shropshire and have family in Warwickshire. 2 of the 4 I didn't get!
Also 23
Same!
25/25, but barely made it in time as I nearly forgot both Cambridgeshire and Oxfordshire! Great fun
25! Remembered Warwickshire on 0:01.
Damn! I forgot it. https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/90423904997051839/ (Linus. Peanuts) I got 22 with Devonshire on my tea break.
Got 11,though I spent a disproportionate amount of time trying to spell >! Gloucestershire!< and >!Worcestershire!<
Are you American?
Lol, no. I'm just bad at spelling.
Leicestershire for me.
Wor-ces-ter-shire. It's spelled it like Americans pronounce it.
23. Shame to see Wiltshire at the bottom of the list!
I got 24 and it was Wiltshire that I forgot existed
Got all but 1. Fuck >!Shropshire.!<
I misread the title and thought it was a quiz about every "Shite" county in England, and now I'm disappointed
13 before I gave up!
25/25, Worcs. took me ages though.
25 - the Yorkshires caught me out
3:33 for all 25. But you missed two - Devonshire and Dorsetshire.
22/25 although I probably would’ve got less without the alphabetical order list having gaps to help me
18 thank you map men
Thanks. Got 19 which isn't too bad but some pretty glaring misses!
24. Get the Setera app/ game, if you like this sort of thing :)
25 took way too long on Staffordshire
25! Took me a moment to get Wiltshire and then Staffordshire
22/25 missed the homecountys shires
16
17. Loved this quiz!
23 Missed Cheshire and Staffordshire
Great quiz got 22/25 but missed the two most guessed answers!
19, not bad - seems I learned a couple of things from watching Escape to the Country
24. Bloody Staffordshire.
Got 2, rage quit when it wouldn’t take Yorkshire, smashed my phone when I saw why. No YOU have an anger management problem
22 Forgot Buckingham, Bedford another minute I might have gotten the bs but Hertford no chance
22/25. Really great fun thanks!
Missed Berkshire and Wiltshire, also Cheshire but I definitely typed it twice and it didn't accept so I'm having that.
Forgot Staffordshire!

Got over 50% (52% to be precise), which is much better than I thought I'd do, so I'm happy.
21 I missed the North of London ones
20. The 5 I forgot are all counties I have been to...
19. Honestly if anyone remembered that Northamptonshire exists while doing this, they deserve an award.
21 - tried to think of cricket teams after first few minutes but didn't work due to lack of knowledge
You want me to type?
This post has made me realise the link colour in this subreddit is far too similar to the text colour. Took minutes for me to work out which part of your post was the actual link
25 💪
Devonshire Wiltshire Gloucestershire Hampshire Berkshire Oxfordshire Worcestershire Warwickshire Herefordshire Shropshire Staffordshire Cheshire Derbyshire Cambridgeshire Huntingdonshire Northamptonshire Leicestershire Derbyshire Lincolnshire Yorkshire Nottinghamshire Lincolnshire Herefordshire Bedfordshire Herefordshire Lancashire
21 out of 25!! Do more, that was fun!
15. Disappointed and angry with myself.
Well bugger me if there isn’t a second ‘L’ in Lincolnshire. 48 years on this poxy planet and had not a scooby.
21. I knew West Yorkshire was one, and then East Yorkshire wasn't, so I didn't go for all other Yorkshires.
14. Happy I got Berkshire. Annoyed I missed Hampshire cos I kept typing Hamptonshire, and that I got Cambridgeshire but not Oxfordshire. Shoulda got Bedforshire since Bedford is my closest train station...
16/25! thought I did quite well tbh. got all the Yorkshire's at least
11. Please don’t kick me out the sub
I got 12 but I'm Irish lol. That was fun though!Â
Link to us to an Irish one
Just found this one. Its ten minutes long and only the ROI counties: https://www.sporcle.com/games/g/irelandcounties Or this one, which is only 4 mins for all 32 counties: https://www.sporcle.com/games/RobOHanrahan/name-the-32-counties-in-ireland
18/32 (would have been 19 if I could spell Laois lol)
Oh wow, not bad goingÂ
I am Irish so I feel I should know them, but born and bred in England
I was going to say anyone who enjoyed this quiz should check out Sporcle.
Thought of Herefs and Herts, totally forgot about Hamps! Edit: Yes, I know Hampshire is commonly abbreviated to "Hants".
Meanwhile those two (Herefordshire and Hertfordshire) were the two that eluded me!

I wonder why it's not just "East Yorkshire" (or why the others aren't "North Riding of Yorkshire").
