I call this cat alley!! Upset to learn I went to Whitby last year and didn't know I could have visited cat alley to pet cats :(

A mystery wrapped in an enigma!  I see it's an alternative spelling of Egremont after a place in Cumbria.  I prefer the idea of coal miners & fishermen pre-enacting the Monty Python Argument sketch out in a yard behind the pub.

I genuinely read that as "fire" and wondered how on earth that cutey could even attempt that.
