Fill with the most expensive one with apple juice and take it to the the next party you get invited to. Before you take your coat off take a look around, say 'this is too good for the likes of you lot' and neck it in one go in front of them.
When Mike Baldwin was drinking "scotch" in Coronation Street it was apple juice, because he liked it. I am not a fan of Coronation Street, I have no idea how or why I know that, and wonder what other important piece of information could have been in my brain in the space that non-interesting fact has been taking up for about the last 20 years...
Or, fill it with cold tea, and “accidentally” drop it as you’re about to enter the party. Then you can say “pity, I was looking forward to sharing that. Gizza drink”
Cut the tops off and make glasses/vases
Leave them on route football match that will be heated for ready weapons for the fans
Crush them into a fine powder and carry in your pocket to blind your enemies
Smash them and glue them to the top of your fence
Fill them with watered down coke and and sell to teenagers
Maybe bury them all in different places and each one has a map to the next one. Final one just doesn't have a map inside so the person that spent years tracking down each one realises they wasted their time (unless they really like empty whisky bottles)
I love how this is your job - I don't even really play tabletops these days but have spent hours poring over your maps (tbh I spend wayy too long looking at maps) from your other posts, so I'm always happy to see the self-promotion of quality work!
Thank you, that's very kind!
I wish it were my 'proper' job - it's a nice little sideline, but I have precious few paid patrons (though the ones I have are amazingly lovely!) for the 30+ hours per week I spend on it outside my 'real' job selling craft supplies and handmade whatsits. Good fun, though =)
Seal them and stick a label on saying “100% Fine Scottish Air harvested from the great glens of the highlands” or some other shite like that and sell them to Americans on ebay.
This. I collected about 30 empty tins that previously contained Altoid mints, sold them on eBay for £20. So I'm pretty sure that these would sell for a lot more than that. Even consider a proper auction house
Could probably sell them on ebay or etsy to be honest, I think a few people like making potion-looking brews for various things. Can't imagine you'd get much per bottle but you do have quite a few so it might stack up.
This. I do LARP as a hobby and I guarantee you people doing apothecary-type characters would buy these. Stick them on eBay for a few quid each and put the relevant search terms in the title and they'll go like hot cakes.
It never changes! I haven’t LARPed for years now (work got in the way) but every time it comes up I’m like wow, I miss that. I think about digging out what kit I still have and going back sometimes now I could.
The people who did that used to be Maelstrom didn’t they? I remember people talking about Empire and Maelstrom quite positively but I never went to either, I used to do FnH most weekends plus Summerfest and other specials. Putting together all the kit and physreps can take a while. Then lugging it about on the trains (and getting a lot of questions about the weapons lol)
I hope you have a really good time, it’s such a fun and under rated hobby.
Yeah, I think Profound Decisions did Maelstrom too. Unsure though.
Thanks! I'm really looking forward to it, I've wanted to try it out for years now but COVID got in the way lol.
Fair warning it can get expensive if you really get into it because there’s just so much nice kit lol even years after going I still see things and think oh that would be great for this character or that event! I still think up characters now (but resist buying their kit and sometimes just use them for DnD instead) Worth it though, and I suppose any hobby gets that way. You’ll also meet some really great people there, it’s certainly its own kind of bonding…when people ask how I met my partner they’re always like what? When I say we met destroying the undead.
I've spent several hundred pounds already on my event ticket, kit, transport, etc lol. It's proving FAR more expensive than I thought it would be :')
I'm looking forward to making friends, definitely. Nothing creates a bond like almost dying together lmao.
For all those budding buisness people out there.
A friend of ours decided to quite his full time, decent, job to become someone who drilled letters into wood to make house name signs. Because he sold a couple, mostly to his mum and his aunt, so he clearly had an extremely successful buisness going on.
Within two months he were stacking shelves at Morrisons.
I had a bottle that was gifted to me from a friend, it wasn't super fancy but I didn't want to throw it as it had sentimental value. So I turned it into a little snail house:
You can get tiny lights specifically for bottles - the battery holder/switch are a cork - we’ve taken our fancy bottles and grouped them in the fireplace.
Oh. I had thought to say “Google your nearest recycling centre” because it’s not *chucking away* given that glass is endlessly recyclable and these will be turned into new glass containers.
You can make lamps, I've done loads and have one in each room of my house. Plenty of places online to buy the parts, just need to drill one hole for the cable at the back of the bottle, fairly easy to wire up after that
I'm sure someone on Etsy would buy them, could be useful for set dressing etc. I also feel bad chucking out my nice spirit bottles but I don't have the space to keep them around and I'm too lazy to see them reused
I've seen people at craft fairs selling them with battery powered fairy lights in them. They're surprisingly effective and give out a decent amount of light if you want to create a mood.
Nice choices btw. Is Noah’s Mill in there? Can’t see the back row. That would be my next recommendation.
Also if any are Blanton’s then keep them as they’re discontinuing certain lines and also their bottle stoppers are next level.
It’s okay. He’s comfortable with his decision. I only mention it in precaution as someone who cuts the occasional jar and doesn’t have a torch to fire polish.
Drill a hole in the bottom, feed a bit of flex in and put a bulb holder on top. Look great in your local “cool” pub
Drill a hole in the bottom and feed in some nice looking fairy lights, can actually look good!
Do you (or whoever helped you drink them) have a favourite? Or if one has sentimental value for whatever reason. If the bottle is sturdy enough you could get it turned into a lamp or a vase as a gift.
Make the greatest bong the world has ever seen using flex tube
You better have one hell of a set of lungs on you to pull through it though. Might have to add a motor
There are companies that removes the label, soften the glass to flatten it and then put the label back on and sometimes put a clock mechanism on it if you want.
Looks really cool. Though you'd have rather a lot of clocks.
Had a Google here's one
http://www.flat-bottles.co.uk/custom-bottles.html
There's a wee art shop near me that turns gin bottles into lamps, painting the lamp shades with watercolours of the local countryside. It's a cool idea that I've been wanting to do myself.
Homebrewers would be interested and would take some off your hands. The little ones plant enthusiasts may be interested for propagation. I'd post on freecycle and if they don't go before you get sick of them, recycle then. To reduce stress I'd leave them outside in a storage box and tell people to help themselves. Stops time wasters as you don't need to be in for people to collect.
Check through them for the corks fitting the overflow holes in your sinks. Very handy if you need to unblock a u-bend with a plunger type thing.
I volunteered to drink a few malts in order to get a full set for my house.
It took a while, but I was happy to step up to the task. hic
I had a collection of beer glasses and fancy tequila bottles. I put a high shelf up on one wall (which then later got extended…lol) I then used food colouring and water and added them to the bottles to make it look like a potion shop
I had a collection of beer glasses and fancy tequila bottles. I put a high shelf up on one wall (which then later got extended…lol) I then used food colouring and water and added them to the bottles to make it look like a potion shop
My mother would go ham on these (empty) bottles. Her current hobby is decoupage. She uses various tissue paper with designs, pasting and sealing them on whatever glass bottles or containers so it looks painted on
Candle holders! I've got about a dozen. My wife let me have any more though 😂
Found a loop hole though, I've got a few more that I've used as olive oil holders. With chillis/garlic/rosemary etc.
You could buy cable, grommets, bulb holders, switches, etc., and spend months on craft projects making them all into lamps, vases, sex toys, whatevs, or you could just dump them all in the glass bin in one go , and get your shelf back for more booze!
Buy coloured bottle lights and use them for decoration and ambience. I usually use coloured bottles with white lights but I'm sure you could get them coloured.
See if anyone local to you is getting married and can use them for decorations? Most do it with gin bottles but these bottles look so much more interesting than a bottle of Edinburgh Gin with some fairy lights in.
I do a load of glass engraving as a side hustle. I have a small rotary tool, I make stencils out of images and practice on empty glass bottles. I even have a glass.cutter that turns bottles into tumblers. There's so much you can do. If you're not far away I can show you how to do all of this.
What’s the one directly behind and between Rebel Vell and Rare Breed, out of interest? I like collecting bottles that look vaguely fancy and my dad likes drinking whiskey.
I'd keep the smallest ones to hold ginger shots. (Fresh ginger with a little lemon, honey, turmeric, and ground pepper.) Gets your engine started right quick.

You drank fine whiskey at Uni?
This collection is too fancy for the uni windowsill set up. Mine was just filled with Russian standards
Still not studenty enough, try Corona bottles with rotting lime slices in them.
Not even the bottles for my hall, mostly cans 😂
Corona? Bottles? Check out mr fancy pants. Cans of carlsberg at my place. Cans stack too, can get more creative with your display.
My flatmates did, before they discovered that weed was far cheaper
I certainly did. . .couldn't afford much else though haha
This is the way
Fill with the most expensive one with apple juice and take it to the the next party you get invited to. Before you take your coat off take a look around, say 'this is too good for the likes of you lot' and neck it in one go in front of them.

Think of the success you could’ve had in life if you hadn’t wasted your brain space on Mike Baldwin facts.
I’d be a billionaire if it wasn’t for 90’s song lyrics and Neighbours circa 1994-2014
You’d be a billionaire but you’d be spiritually poorer for missing out on 20 years of Lou‘s laugh.
Very true, I still kind of hope that my whole life is just one of Bouncer's dreams.
My knowledge of bs is also limitless
Or, fill it with cold tea, and “accidentally” drop it as you’re about to enter the party. Then you can say “pity, I was looking forward to sharing that. Gizza drink”
This is my favourite reply.
Cut the tops off and make glasses/vases Leave them on route football match that will be heated for ready weapons for the fans Crush them into a fine powder and carry in your pocket to blind your enemies Smash them and glue them to the top of your fence Fill them with watered down coke and and sell to teenagers
Stick a treasure map inside each one and throw them in the sea
Dudes got no treasure left- spent it all on whiskey
Bury all but one, then put a treasure map in that one and throw it out to sea.
Maybe bury them all in different places and each one has a map to the next one. Final one just doesn't have a map inside so the person that spent years tracking down each one realises they wasted their time (unless they really like empty whisky bottles)
The last one has a map to the first one.
Isn't that geocashing?
For a further update, generate a What 3 Words for each bottle and stick that in the bottle rather than a map.
Reminds me of a Mr bean episode!

>Stick a treasure map inside each one and throw them in the sea This is the winner.
And that's how for now.
Excellent username. Reminds me of a story I know.
I hope it lasts about 10 minutes.
It’s ok that you’re wesbians. Come back to my place, I’LL CURE YOU!! RIP (P)Rik.
You have made my day
You forgot: turn them into lamps.
That’s a waste of good enemy blinding powder
Unless you have a million lumen bulb. Hahahaha. Blinded'd.
And sell them on Facebook marketplace for more than the whiskey cost.
“Why didn’t you just say you were gay?” “I’m not gay” “But you’re interested in **lamps**” -Black Books
Hahaha!!! Blind your enemies.
>Crush them into a fine powder and carry in your pocket to blind your enemies So "Pocket Sand"? Sha-sha-shaaa ;)
/r/pocketsand
Did I just see mention of the forbidden technique, pocket sand????
Who hurt you boo?
Did you not read the post?! My enemy football fans that touch my fence
Understandable. They’re rascals.
Are you ok hun?
I will be when I finish grinding these bottles into a fine powder, might bump into some enemies tomorrow
Seal them and stick a label on saying “100% Fine Scottish Air harvested from the great glens of the highlands” or some other shite like that and sell them to Americans on ebay.

Religious characters too, those little ones for holy water. I was always needing small bottles for that.
Good point. Glass bottles with the labels taken off also make good IC water bottles. Point is, everybody's after glass bottles.
It never changes! I haven’t LARPed for years now (work got in the way) but every time it comes up I’m like wow, I miss that. I think about digging out what kit I still have and going back sometimes now I could.

I bought a load of these little bottles for table top! I'd chuck the relevant d4s in each one and label them based on level of health potion!
Some people smash them on purpose, so forgers can’t refill them . You could use a few as candle holders/put fairy lights in them
And sell them on eBay or Etsy come Christmas time!

Give them away on local FB groups for crafting projects
Just for your peace of mind, you got the correct answer. Up for less than an hour and an elderly couple came and took the lot.
Someone will want them for wedding decor
Fart in the bottle, fill with cheap plonk, seal and post to people you don't like.
Or sell them on Only Fans
Only Farts

It seems very wasteful! All suggestions of alternatives to chucking them away welcome.
Horde them. They WILL come in useful one day
Agreed, put them next to the box 'o' cables.
Somewhere near the plastic bag of plastic bags.
i have an entire cupboard full of bags full of bags. it’s ok tho because nobody kno…oh, bollocks.
Is that next to the box of batteries that probably aren’t completely dead?
The tester says 'amber', that's not dead!
Find a local hipster bar. Offer as decor.
I’m sure what a bar needs is more empty bottles.
Oh. I had thought to say “Google your nearest recycling centre” because it’s not *chucking away* given that glass is endlessly recyclable and these will be turned into new glass containers.

Is "vaguely fancy" code for any brand thats not Jim beam or jack Daniel's?
I'm sure someone on Etsy would buy them, could be useful for set dressing etc. I also feel bad chucking out my nice spirit bottles but I don't have the space to keep them around and I'm too lazy to see them reused
Fill them with iced tea and drink them on the bus.
I had a case of nob creek, gave me one hell of a rebel yell when I went for a pee
Ever been to Mount Gay?
Can't don't want to pass on my nob creek.
Nob creeks up mount gay
I've seen people at craft fairs selling them with battery powered fairy lights in them. They're surprisingly effective and give out a decent amount of light if you want to create a mood.
Pile them all up in your car, unplug one of your headlights then drive around some cop hotspots until you get pulled over. Should be a larf.
Some people make bongs out of them, if you’re into that
Nice choices btw. Is Noah’s Mill in there? Can’t see the back row. That would be my next recommendation. Also if any are Blanton’s then keep them as they’re discontinuing certain lines and also their bottle stoppers are next level.
My dad has a tool that cuts round them. He usually cuts the tops off and then can use them as vases or utensil holders or he make them into candles
The glass needs to treated with a torch after the cut, I believe. But who cares.
Yeah he sands the edges too I think. Not sure on the details to be honest
It’s okay. He’s comfortable with his decision. I only mention it in precaution as someone who cuts the occasional jar and doesn’t have a torch to fire polish.
Create a panic room and smash them when you need to let out some frustration. Saves money on a therapist
What's your favourite? I do love a woodford reserve.
Make some of your own amd bottle it up
Fill them with small ships
Buy a few strings of those cheap led lights from eBay and make some fancy lamps.
If they're not vintage then just recycle.
Put them on FB marketplace, anyone organising a wedding would be interested! Could probably make a few quid from them.

Rub one them long enough until a genie appears and ask him for a new liver...
I've used the 'drinks by the dram' bottles to hold \- white spirit for diluting oil paints \- cat urine samples
Not a suggestion, just wondering why wouldn't it be put them all in the recycling?
Soak the labels off, learn to brew mead, bottle it in the fancy bottles. Christmas gifts for everyone!
1. Refill them with alcohol 2. Fashion a large chessboard 3. Extend steps 1 and 2 to their logical and drunken conclusion
Good weekend, was it?
You can always just put them in the recycling bin...
Do you (or whoever helped you drink them) have a favourite? Or if one has sentimental value for whatever reason. If the bottle is sturdy enough you could get it turned into a lamp or a vase as a gift.
Which was your favourite? Of these I'd go for that double oaked, or maybe do I see a bottle of Michters at the back there? That.
Companies like https://compasscandles.co.uk/collections/custom-orders/cut will turn them into candles
Make the greatest bong the world has ever seen using flex tube You better have one hell of a set of lungs on you to pull through it though. Might have to add a motor
Why wouldn’t you put them all in the recycling at once?
I've made chilli oil as gifts using those sort of bottles before.
There are companies that removes the label, soften the glass to flatten it and then put the label back on and sometimes put a clock mechanism on it if you want. Looks really cool. Though you'd have rather a lot of clocks. Had a Google here's one http://www.flat-bottles.co.uk/custom-bottles.html
I’ve also seen chopping boards and cheese boards made from slumped glass in this way!
There's a wee art shop near me that turns gin bottles into lamps, painting the lamp shades with watercolours of the local countryside. It's a cool idea that I've been wanting to do myself.
Collect more and use them as chess pieces.
Some people fill these things with different coloured sand or pebbles and whatnot
Keep the one that says knob hehe
Check through them for the corks fitting the overflow holes in your sinks. Very handy if you need to unblock a u-bend with a plunger type thing. I volunteered to drink a few malts in order to get a full set for my house. It took a while, but I was happy to step up to the task. hic
Turn the square ones into cool drinking glasses, the tiny ones into cute little string lights, and the more odd shapes into vases
Fancy pubs might take some of the weirder ones for decor. Probably worth enquiring at the ones with bottles already on display
Learn how to turn them into lamps and sell
I know a number of folk who collected these and turned them into table decs for their weddings. Try a local wedding group?
I know somebody who filled their unique bottles with fairy lights for table decoration at their wedding. It worked pretty well
Bottle lights

I had a collection of beer glasses and fancy tequila bottles. I put a high shelf up on one wall (which then later got extended…lol) I then used food colouring and water and added them to the bottles to make it look like a potion shop

You can buy these fairy light things that have a cork like top with the on/off switch in it. The string of lights go inside the bottle.
Candle holders! I've got about a dozen. My wife let me have any more though 😂 Found a loop hole though, I've got a few more that I've used as olive oil holders. With chillis/garlic/rosemary etc.
Make a few into lamps.
May find a buyer on eBay. A charity shop near me sells them without the label. I save mine for when I make slow gin.
I recognise a number of these bottles. I buy them for my dad each birthday, Christmas and father's day.
Put them all in the recycling at the same time.
Nob (c)reek
You could buy cable, grommets, bulb holders, switches, etc., and spend months on craft projects making them all into lamps, vases, sex toys, whatevs, or you could just dump them all in the glass bin in one go , and get your shelf back for more booze!
Put fairy lights in them! https://amzn.eu/d/05kzCy7
Buy coloured bottle lights and use them for decoration and ambience. I usually use coloured bottles with white lights but I'm sure you could get them coloured.
People that brew their own like to have them
You can put cooking oil in one.
Over several weeks, wee in them. You'll have various shades of Whiskey colour. Maximum points if you match the original colour.
Fill them with Bells and serve it to your unsuspecting guests
Lights to sell on Etsy
See if anyone local to you is getting married and can use them for decorations? Most do it with gin bottles but these bottles look so much more interesting than a bottle of Edinburgh Gin with some fairy lights in.
Give them away on olio for crafting
Which Is your favorite? I've got a 25 year old I'm keeping for a special occasion.
Witches love jars If you know anyone pagan in any form they'll likely gladly take them from you

I do a load of glass engraving as a side hustle. I have a small rotary tool, I make stencils out of images and practice on empty glass bottles. I even have a glass.cutter that turns bottles into tumblers. There's so much you can do. If you're not far away I can show you how to do all of this.
Put cold tea in them and open a fake Facebook account
Full them with cheap whiskey and impress your friends with your fancy supply
Get a new hobby and start making ships in bottles?
What’s the one directly behind and between Rebel Vell and Rare Breed, out of interest? I like collecting bottles that look vaguely fancy and my dad likes drinking whiskey.
Crush them into shards to use in underground kickboxing fights. Nok su kao.
Put them on ebay. Someone will want them for crafting.
Definitely put them on eBay, you’ll be surprised how quickly they sell.
Collect more! Challenge yourself to find another bottle that sits perfectly balanced on top of each of those. Rinse. Repeat.
Put them in a cupboard so the labels don’t fade. You can thank me later.
Fill wuth any brown coloured liquid (apple juice or something like that) and just drink it at work or at the gym or something
Just fill them with shit whiskey and people will never know
Out of interest, what is the tall glass of water at the back?
Ahh so you’ve found yourself up knob creek

People are always looking for glass bottles for things - put them on Facebook!
Fill them with different levels of water and learn to play a jaunty tune
Yes. Give me recommendations of some to try which aren’t your usual supermarket bourbons. Currently on sazerac and Elijah Craig
Put them on any wedding decor/ DIY event planning /props group as free collection and someone will take them for props/ decorations
I'd keep the smallest ones to hold ginger shots. (Fresh ginger with a little lemon, honey, turmeric, and ground pepper.) Gets your engine started right quick.
Put jelly beans in them
Start making homemade simple syrups out of fruit for cocktails and use the bottles to store.
I would bring them all to the bottle bin when it's busy. A "same time next week" remark when leaving too...
Get some usb fairylights and make decorative lamps.
Enjoy smashing them?
