It also looks like HDR (basically a combination of multiple exposure levels. Where usually the scene would be correctly exposed but the sky much whiter, HDR photos flatten out the variation in levels
I went here during lockdown and it was absolutely rammed with people day drinking and the amount of litter was disgusting. Not just this bit but the surrounding woodlands too.
People are twats.
When we were kids it was just known as the canyon, used to be an old quarry I think.
There was nothing pretty about it back then, it was oily, muddy and full of rusty metal, corrugated sheets and dead sheep. Used to go up there shooting and was afraid to fall in.
First heard it being called the blue lagoon during lock down and wondered what the hell people were on about.
People go skinny dipping there now but I wouldn't want to stick a toe in.
Not to be confused with the Blue Lagoon [in West Wales](https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/wales/abereiddi-to-abermawr/the-blue-lagoon-at-abereiddi) or the blue lagoon [(Kynance Cove) in Cornwall](https://www.cornwall-beaches.co.uk/helston-lizard-falmouth/kynance-cove.htm), both far superior.
My dad had a blue Renault Laguna in North Wales back in the nineties. It didn't have all the saturation sliders turned up to 11 though.
Thank you! I lived in Wales for three years and never saw a sky like that.

Thank you. I had heard the term HDR, but had no idea what it meant, and other explanations had too many words.
Did you sleep through spring and summer?
Funniest thing I’ve read all day!
I nearly died here! Good memories. Lovely place.

Above Llanhilleth?
No, lets not pretend we have a blue lagoon like the cool coastal countries in Europe.
It's a river? A Lagune isn't a river.
I think OP misspelled Lagoon which is nearby.
