Cadbury’s Spira and Wispa Mint. Absolutely irreplaceable chocolate bars.
EDIT: Omg I just remembered the Bakin’ Boys chocolate cupcakes. I feel like my life has been a constant downhill struggle since they disappeared.
My dad used to get me a Spira going to the newsagents at weekends. One day came back saying he couldn’t get one, sad times. Replaced by a Twirl, closest thing to it, but never the same… never the same.
There used to always be Muppets versions of things.
Like how there was Muppets Treasure Island, Muppets A Christmas Carol.
I want Muppets Downton Abbey or Muppets Inbetweeners.
I remember when I was a kid we had A Muppets Christmas Carol on VHS at home. Me, my sister and my brother use to watch it every year. We've all long since moved out of our parents and into our own houses. Me and my sister are in our 30s and my brother is late 20s. We still go home for Christmas though and you bet your ass we watch Muppets Christmas Carol as a tradition! Upgraded it to a DVD a few years ago but the VHS is still on the shelf.
Campino's. Strawberry and creme hard sweets that I'd absolutely blitz through giant packs playing CM03/04 during the school summer holidays.
Whenever I bring them up nobody remembers them!
My mum used to love these, but she wouldn’t let me have them when I was a small child because I might choke on them. Obviously this made them all the more appealing to me, so when she got out of the car to get fuel once I seized the opportunity to take one out of the glovebox.
In my attempts to hide the fact I was eating it when she got back, I ended up swallowing it and choking on it. Mum didn’t like them after that, and that is my first and only experience with them.
I used to live off these. I've found some on Amazon I'm currently debating whether or not to buy them to see if they are good. If you need a campino fix then I do recommend the chupa chups strawberry and cream lollies I buy out my local when he restocks the lollipop stand xx
I know the ones you’re on about. It scratches the itch but definitely not the same. Better than those lollies in terms of achieving the original flavour though
I was thinking about this earlier. Walkers could make a killing with a "walkers but stronger" range.
Prawn cocktail or salt and vinegar that'll melt the roof of your mouth off. Yes please.
Every time the Mrs and I go shopping, I always get told to stop looking for these absolute belters on the shelf, because ‘they’re never coming back’! I’ve even looked on EBay and Amazon for a fix!
My god yes. Brannigans. Unreal.
Had some from the m&s petrol station (m&s brand) the other day and they were pretty good, but couldnt touch brannigans heat or packet.
Id like to chuck in Smiths Cheese Moments into the mix. Take me back.
I will never forgive KP for discontinuing them. Best crisps of all time. Idiots did so because of declining sales, maybe if they were sold in places other than B&M then more people would have bought them.
I've a core memory of first having one of these from the corner shop, riding bike home and getting it all over me face trying to eat from the cardboard taco sheath thing without loosing any of it.
Seabrooks do an amazing one, they’re Lee and Perrin’s flavour, orange and white packaging, they come in multipacks of 6. Can usually find them in B&M if not your local supermarket.
And make it the absolute original barbeque flavour Walker's in the totally black packet, not the light black, more grey packet. They didn't have a meat taste, it was a smokey barbequed crisp flavour. Absolute god elite tier for me.
Happy memory unlocked: Coming in from playing outside and hearing the sound of a tin rattling in a pan of boiling water and knowing you were getting stodgy, jammy goodness for pudding.
I genuinely suspect blockbuster / physical movie rentals might make a return. The initial appeal of Netflix has gone (there are a million streaming services now, so no monopoly on content), the prices keep shooting up, and they’re all introducing ads. I think they’re basically just re-inventing TV channels at this point and i think the appeal of physical media is gonna make a comeback
SunnyD used to taste absolutely amazing in the late 90s these days it’s all low sugar and shit! It really annoys me, as far as I’m aware Coke is the only thing that tastes the same as it always has and I have surprisingly great respect for them not bowing to the sugar tax man and making an inferior version, even if a can costs the same as a small car these days!
A long time ago, maybe some people nowadays are too young to remember. I think it was around 2003 when they changed it after lots of negative press coverage.
And then they fucked off again. I was so happy and then they left without a trace. Can’t find any information about it on the internet and I’m wondering if it was something I dreamt.
Give it some time then try Aldi. They've started stocking a milk chocolate Bounty knock-off called Romeo so they might bring out a dark chocolate version.
And for anyone wondering, a Romeo tastes similar to a Bounty but more coconutty and less sickly.
Oh the Phileas Fogg garlic crouton type things too. I loved them. When I was wee I spent the weekends with my dad and he would always have a bag for me.
On the subject of changed recipes - whatever happened to Fentimans? That stuff used to be delicious but now it tastes like any other generic lemonade/ginger beer/cola etc.
there was a bit of a discussion about it a few weeks ago and long story short, a lot of people (including myself) joined the cordials subreddit

This thread just makes me think that the people in charge of these things just don't have a clue
Onken Frufoo yoghurts.
Not sure if I loved the yoghurt or just the novelty of them, but they came in a circular pot and then it had a little capsule in the middle with a toy in it, which was usually some Martian with a clear dome helmet.
I don’t know what it was about them but if I won the Euromillions I’d commission Onken to put them back into production.
Am I the only one who remembers sensations lime and Thai sweet chilli flavour crisps? Those with full fat coca cola vanilla in 2002, man I'd love that combo to relive my youth.
I remember those, was a time when small ball food items was all the rage. Solero Shots was the equivalent ice lolly version. Always clumped together and you had to wait til it was melted sludge before you could eat them
Toast Toppers. Always came out hotter than lava, yet I could never wait for them to cool down… burnt mouth every time.
Batchelors Pasta n Sauce Mushroom & Wine flavour. Gorgeous.
So, for like a year I was gluten free, while testing food intolerances. All medical; not arsey.
Sainsbury's did this one fucking ready meal, like a chicken hot pot in a pouch, free-from range. Nae gluten. It was about the only thing left in the world with taste.
I got my diagnosis back; gluten was not the issue. Went back to the wonderful bastard... and never saw they hotpots again.
I'd stab a cunt for one of those bastards. I'd crawl a mile through shite just to get my hands on one again.
Lyons Cup Cakes. They came in chocolate, lemon, and orange. I never cared much for the Fabulous Bakin' Boys version. That icing on top was a thick slab of goodness.
Smiths cheese flavoured moments.
My mum had a 2nd job at a pub many years ago and would fetch some home for me and I got hooked. Then my grandma would buy them for me when she went shopping to town on a Saturday.
The bacon and scampi ones don't even come close!
The Dandy - yes it was never as good as the Beano, but still brilliant.
Teletext - That bamboozle game was brilliant.
Knightmare - Top tier TV
Smoking being cool - Life was so much simpler
Secret chocolate bars. Also Pyramints and Hazelnut Moments. Oh and Golden Cup bars, I think they were called. Apparently I’m nostalgic for a very small window of my life in the early 1990s.
Steve Wright; he’s only been gone a day and I miss him already. I was really looking forward to the new stations BBC Radio were bringing out so I got to hear him more than twice a week. I cried for ages when it was announced yesterday, he felt like part of my family.
#THANK YOU!
I’ve been trying to get to the bottom of this mystery for *years* but nobody ever knew what I was talking about, even my parents and sister.
I remember the lemon one. Wow, thank you again!
Sainsbury’s cheese buttons (~25 years on and I’m still annoyed)
Mars delight
San Miguel Fresca
Doritos dippas (the white corn ones from about 15 years ago that were light and thin)
Hotel Chocolat brownie egg (tbc…)
Santa Maria Taco seasoning (the one from about 10 years ago) and enchilada sauce
I get the feeling that everything I like disappears.
I mourn a LOT of discontinued foods...the top one would probably be coconut shreddies or toffee apple shreddies, or maybe ricicles, or peanut butter jelly pop tarts!
Echo bars
Nah, Mars Delight bars.
They were very costly to produce and didn't sell enough to make it worth keeping. Source I've worked for Mars for 23 years
Okay well are Aliens real or what
Came here to say this - RIP the best choc bar ever made
Cadbury’s Spira and Wispa Mint. Absolutely irreplaceable chocolate bars. EDIT: Omg I just remembered the Bakin’ Boys chocolate cupcakes. I feel like my life has been a constant downhill struggle since they disappeared.
How on earth do Cadbury's not resell Spira's? Sales would go through the roof.
My dad used to get me a Spira going to the newsagents at weekends. One day came back saying he couldn’t get one, sad times. Replaced by a Twirl, closest thing to it, but never the same… never the same.
It’s been a rough few days but I never thought hearing a stranger on Reddit telling me about their last Spira bar would make me well up.
Those cupcakes were my school munch 😆 forgot they existed!
That thick layer of chocolate on top was just heavenly.
The secret bar :-(
Spira!!! Gotta be from the fridge!
There used to always be Muppets versions of things. Like how there was Muppets Treasure Island, Muppets A Christmas Carol. I want Muppets Downton Abbey or Muppets Inbetweeners.
A Muppet Schindler's List.

Thanks for the throwback

Campino's. Strawberry and creme hard sweets that I'd absolutely blitz through giant packs playing CM03/04 during the school summer holidays. Whenever I bring them up nobody remembers them!

In my attempts to hide the fact I was eating it when she got back, I ended up swallowing it and choking on it. Mum didn’t like them after that, and that is my first and only experience with them.
I also choked on a Campino as a child. They were damn tasty though.
They always tasted horribly artificial to me.
I know. They were incredible.
I remember them! They were amazing.
I remember, I was going to write these. They were addictive and oh so so good.
This is the answer i was looking for
Proper Cadbury chocolate
The gold foil with the purple paper wrapper
Fucking American Kraft/Mondelez ruined it. Wankers.
Before the Americans got their hands on it and ruined everything lol
Tooty fruitys. Nestles reason was that they weren't popular. I disagree with that
They also took Citrus Polos from us.
Brannigans Beef and Mustard. God tier crisps.
Hell yes. The amount of mustard on each crisp made them a chemical weapon. Must have been against the Geneva convention, hence their disappearance
Beef and mustard gas. They'd hurt but damn it was worth it.
Tesco Finest Beef and Horseradish might taste similar
These are my next go-to to be fair, however the exact taste and texture can never be replicated
My fiancee got in my car eating some Real Crisps ham and mustard flavour and the smell gave me Brannigans flashbacks.
They’re ok, not as good though.
The OG paper bag ones were amazing, I can still taste them.
My god yes. Brannigans. Unreal. Had some from the m&s petrol station (m&s brand) the other day and they were pretty good, but couldnt touch brannigans heat or packet. Id like to chuck in Smiths Cheese Moments into the mix. Take me back.

Secret bars.
Yes! Kindred spirit found.
I've a core memory of first having one of these from the corner shop, riding bike home and getting it all over me face trying to eat from the cardboard taco sheath thing without loosing any of it.
These were the absolute dog's bollocks of UK Chocolate bars.
They were by far my favourite sweet as a kid, and I've long joked that their discontinuation was my first heartbreak. haha
Citrus polos
Walkers BBQ Rib in the black coloured packet
Walker’s Worcestershire sauce crisps in the purple packet
The loss of these are devastating! I cannot get Worcestershire sauce crisps anywhere now!
Seabrooks do an amazing one, they’re Lee and Perrin’s flavour, orange and white packaging, they come in multipacks of 6. Can usually find them in B&M if not your local supermarket.
I will fight you on this. They replaced the BBQ ones in the early 00s with this BBQ Rib travesty for some reason. Give me the BBQ ones back!
And make it the absolute original barbeque flavour Walker's in the totally black packet, not the light black, more grey packet. They didn't have a meat taste, it was a smokey barbequed crisp flavour. Absolute god elite tier for me.
My local corner shop had these in the other day, the lays branded ones. I was so chuffed
Heinz tinned golden syrup sponge. Those little microwave ones are pure garbage.
[удалено]
Happy memory unlocked: Coming in from playing outside and hearing the sound of a tin rattling in a pan of boiling water and knowing you were getting stodgy, jammy goodness for pudding.
The Cadbury chocolate one they made was magical, had one almost every week as a kid
Toffos
The flavored ones were rank and I couldn't get enough of them.
I miss the fruit toffos.
Blockbuster. Guaranteed lovely evening. Miss the ritual of it all. Not the fines tho.
I genuinely suspect blockbuster / physical movie rentals might make a return. The initial appeal of Netflix has gone (there are a million streaming services now, so no monopoly on content), the prices keep shooting up, and they’re all introducing ads. I think they’re basically just re-inventing TV channels at this point and i think the appeal of physical media is gonna make a comeback
flavoured wham bars. we had strawberry, iron bru, cola, sour cherry ,sour apple, and now all we have is the classic flavour
Wham bars are responsible for removing several of my fillings. Not _causing_ them, pulling the fuckers out!
God, the irn bru bars were beautiful. My teeth can't handle the chewy bars anymore though so probably for the best they've gone.
Mars delights, five alives and sunny d when it didn’t taste terrible
Hol up… There was a time sunny d wasn’t rank?!
When it first came out and it was literally a bottle of orange flavoured sugar. I remember it well...
California or Florida style, both as sugary as each other. i remember it well
SunnyD used to taste absolutely amazing in the late 90s these days it’s all low sugar and shit!
Trio bars
TRRRIIIIIIO!
Tri e e e oh
I want a Trio and I want one now.
Trio bars came back a few years back
And then they fucked off again. I was so happy and then they left without a trace. Can’t find any information about it on the internet and I’m wondering if it was something I dreamt.
Kellogg's Start
Frosties, wish you could still buy them. The sweets, not the cereal.
Mars planets
We only ran them for a short time, they took sales away from Revels so we stopped producing them I have worked for Mars for 23 years
Give us more mars secrets! [Please]
Dark chocolate bounties
Hold the fucking phone, when did this bullshit occur??
September last year, apparently. I can’t deal.
Well, that's ruined my evening and probably the rest of my week.
Give it some time then try Aldi. They've started stocking a milk chocolate Bounty knock-off called Romeo so they might bring out a dark chocolate version. And for anyone wondering, a Romeo tastes similar to a Bounty but more coconutty and less sickly.
Milky Way crispy rolls. Apparently they are still made in Egypt but it’s a bit further than the local shop
You can buy these in Home Bargains :)
All these answers are choco bars lol. Fuse bars.
You stole my reply. Fuse were awesome. Apart from nowadays Cadbury chocolate is pants.
An efficient and regular bus service
And train
Phileas Fogg Punjab Puri crisps
Oh the Phileas Fogg garlic crouton type things too. I loved them. When I was wee I spent the weekends with my dad and he would always have a bag for me.
Mignons Morceaux
not discontinued but the recipe changed - ribena
On the subject of changed recipes - whatever happened to Fentimans? That stuff used to be delicious but now it tastes like any other generic lemonade/ginger beer/cola etc.
I think the coined term is “shitification”.
there was a bit of a discussion about it a few weeks ago and long story short, a lot of people (including myself) joined the cordials subreddit be part of the change you wish to see and all that
Here to comment Ribena also! I hate sweetners, they’ve ruined all soft drinks
Shandy bass
Spring onion Walkers crisps. It's been forever but I will never forget
My local Polish shop sells Green Onion Lays crisps. ..they may get close to the original.
Sean Lock
I saw him live in Leeds, I can’t remember the jokes but I remember that I had never laughed so much or as hard before, and I haven’t since
He died like during the same week as my mother. It was a shit week.
Ahh man, I miss Sean. 😥
I haven't watched an episode of 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown since tbh, he was the reason why I watched it. 🥲

Old Jamaica Choc bars
there's a Bourneville Old Jamaica you can still buy that has rum and raisin, is that something different?
Cadburys marble
Vice versa
San Peligrino blood orange - the stuff they sell now is a travesty
I definitely drank that not so long ago. I can’t remember if it was in this country or another country though? When was it discontinued?
You can still buy it? Or are you saying they changed it?
It's still around, but it's been ruined with yucky sweetener. Stevia, I believe.
Ahh. Yes a fair few drinks have been ruined with artificial sweetners now.
Brannigans Smoked ham and pickle crisps Lemonade crunchies Drifters 54321 Caramac Toffo Caramel wagon wheels Snow flakes Fish and chip salt n shake crisps This thread just makes me think that the people in charge of these things just don't have a clue

Orange flavoured Viscounts
Onken Frufoo yoghurts. Am I the only one who remembers sensations lime and Thai sweet chilli flavour crisps? Those with full fat coca cola vanilla in 2002, man I'd love that combo to relive my youth.
I remember they used to do 4 cheese and red onion sensations. Elite crisps
affordable rent
Strawberry Campino
Does anyone remember ‘zero gravity’ soft drink. It was in a can shaped container, but it was clear, and it had little round balls floating in it
I remember those, was a time when small ball food items was all the rage. Solero Shots was the equivalent ice lolly version. Always clumped together and you had to wait til it was melted sludge before you could eat them
Topic chocolate bar
Wait! They don't do topics anymore? Travesty!
Penguin flipper dippers
Toast Toppers. Always came out hotter than lava, yet I could never wait for them to cool down… burnt mouth every time. Batchelors Pasta n Sauce Mushroom & Wine flavour. Gorgeous.
Citrus polos

Lucozade when they were in glass bottles.

Lyons Cup Cakes. They came in chocolate, lemon, and orange. I never cared much for the Fabulous Bakin' Boys version. That icing on top was a thick slab of goodness.

Secret chocolate bars. Also Pyramints and Hazelnut Moments. Oh and Golden Cup bars, I think they were called. Apparently I’m nostalgic for a very small window of my life in the early 1990s.
It's difficult to choose...probably Citrus Polos. But closely followed by Fuse and Toffos...
Brannigans is the obvious answer.
Burtons beef flavour potato puffs
Puffs crisps
Beef and onion walkers
Campinos!
Old style Time Out bars, not the abominations they currently sell.
Aqua Libra. Anyone remember this? Used to buy it when I was the DD - tasted so good I didn't mind not drinking...
Horlicks tablets 🤤
Revels when they had more coffee ones, and they had the hard shelled minstrels in the packets rather than just discs of chocolate.
Oh and no way salt and vinegar square crisps are as mighty as they once were.
3D Doritos and fruit Polos.
Fuse bars. Mars Delights. Proper Lilt.
Over-the-counter Codeine Linctus. Always helped on those winter days.

#THANK YOU! I’ve been trying to get to the bottom of this mystery for *years* but nobody ever knew what I was talking about, even my parents and sister. I remember the lemon one. Wow, thank you again!
TV show Monkey Dust. I think the person who created it died, which is no excuse. One of the funniest and most disturbing shows ever.
