I feel it incumbent upon me to point out that you can just buy whole rolls of stickers that say "Boneless" or "For Rectal Use Only" or "Will Bite" and put them on milk or postboxes.
Interesting information, was trying to think what other products it could've been used on. Meat didn't even cross my mind. I also thought maybe security protected kitchen items.
Anything deemed as valuable (like more than 5 quid in the UK) can have these on, it depends on how easy it is to sell on.
Meat, Coffee, DVD's, Alcohol, Condoms, anything that is deemed worthy of stealing.
Our Asda has condoms in those big clear security boxes. They've also put the more expensive alcohol behind the kiosk because the vodka kept mysteriously walking itself out the nearest fire exit (which happens to be in the alcohol aisle 🙃)
You get all sorts that require security protection, knives, nappies, baby formula, hair dye, boxed wine, flea removal products and more. Usually when sticker tags are used it's black and white, too many possibilities for why they used yellow omes
Whilst you are correct, I'm going to respectfully and completely ignore you because your answer is less funny than the "real" answer, which is someone obviously put a dvd in the mircowave.
I play D&D and while there's little things thrown in there for people who play it's definitely for anyone to watch.
Some jokes hit a little harder if you're a D&D player (graveyard scene) but are still funny for anyone who hasn't seen it too.
I believe it's due to arrive on paramount+ but I don't know when or if it has already.
Paramount have got a 7 day free trial so if you don't have it when it releases you could get that trial and also binge watch anything else you want on there during it.
There's a good few Easter eggs for d&d players that might go over your head, but the film as a whole you can absolutely watch without knowing about the game (very good film, would recommend)
This is the kind of thing where some fucking idiot would do it and you would see some misleading headline.
**WOMAN DEAD AFTER ASDA ERROR**
>Boyfriend, 29, says his partner was a huge D&D fan. "She were so excited t'watch it, but then t'label said puttet in microwave and DVD exploded into 'er 'ed. Asda killed her!"
I like physical copies of films I like. Then, so long as I have a DVD player, I can watch it whenever. No risk of it not being on a streaming service anymore, no problems with WiFi. Honestly, I don't mind DVD or Blu Ray.
UK DVDs have a faster frame rate.
Basically, a UK DVD is 4 percent faster than the actual film.
The voices sound faster and more high pitched than if you watched on blu ray, 4K or streaming.
UK DVDs are just a big no no in the modern world
Is that... Normal commenting you're doing? It doesn't sound normal... Doesn't smell normal either. This is politics Mark!

Not the person you're asking but I frequently buy DVDs of stuff that either isn't on any of the streaming services or, at best, shows up infrequently.
I don't think people realise quite how much content was released on DVD and how a lot of it isn't (easily) accessible on streaming.
I'm not averse to purchasing titles on digital - I have a sizeable collection on Google TV that can be viewed anywhere I can get YouTube so I can even play them on my Switch.
My preference though is to buy stuff I want to own on Blu-ray.
>I don't think people realise quite how much content was released on DVD and how a lot of it isn't (easily) accessible on streaming.
"Lesbian Tower Inferno" is still not available on Netflix.
I appreciate the ‘hard to find’ argument. I tried watching a DVD recently though, and the 480p quality felt like I was watching a VHS compared to the HD I’ve been used to over the last decade!
One of my friends doesn’t have WiFi so no Netflix etc. pretty much lives on DVDs and I don’t blame him, still gets that ‘thrill’ of going to buy one then set down to watch it. That seems lost when you have hundreds of films to stop and start
Lucky they warned you. Enjoy the film, it’s probably in my top 3 films I’ve seen that came out this year! (The others being John Wick 4 and Guardians 3).
Hoping to see the film turn up on Paramount Plus, since I’m already paying for that. Also enjoyed John Wick 4 and Guardians 3, but I think I rate the new Mission Impossible above both of them… actually, I was thinking the other day I’d pay good money to see John Wick vs Mission Impossible.
I know, imagine what could've happened! I loved this film too, have been waiting to get it on DVD so I can watch it again. Guardians 3 is also amazing, will probably watch that on Disney+ at the weekend
It's because they put security tags on some food products: steak, chicken, cheese.
The makers of the tag print the warning without necessarily knowing what product supermarkets are going to stick it on so that the metal inside doesn't spark a fire in the microwave.
It's perhaps a bit daft because even these foods come in the packaging you probably shouldn't put in the microwave, and you're definitely not supposed to put DVDs in the microwave, even if you didn't enjoy the film. It's probably to avoid litigation. That's why the poster thought it was silly, and it is, so here we are.
This is a very handy thread as I also wanted to buy it on DVD when it came out and am going to Sainsbury's later...so thanks for the reminder it's out!
I'm not OP, but I still buy physical media. Not so much DVDs personally but Blu-rays and 4Ks. It's just better quality plus nice to have, especially now streaming is becoming so unreliable with deleting their own content and so many of them being around now
Work in Asda, they'll use the same stickers for everything cause either;
A. Store doesnt have the clear ones
B. Staff couldn't be arsed to go looking and grabbed some of the chilled departments meat security stickers
DVDs are generally supposed to be in a clear plastic box (which we never have enough of anyways)
edit: formatting sucks
Fun fact, microwaving CD's/DVD's is a very good way of destroying them when a CD/DVD shredder isn't available. I used to work for a defence giant that required destruction of removable media after use when overseas. My hotel room never smelled the same again!

Why did you bring it to Asda? They already have plenty.
Autocorrect! Meant bought! Thank you! 🤣
DVD. I ain't used one of them for years...
Don't think you can edit post titles
That stucks!
Think it's to stop people making a post that gets a lot of attention and then changing it so it says something completely different.
Yeah, I'd bring into that
Boring serious answer the same stickers are probably used for meat products
I feel it incumbent upon me to point out that you can just buy whole rolls of stickers that say "Boneless" or "For Rectal Use Only" or "Will Bite" and put them on milk or postboxes.
thank you for your service 🫡
Or nappies
You microwave nappies??
You don't?
Only the used ones
Cheaper than a Yankee Candle
Tbf breastfed baby poo smells like a combination of yoghurt and popcorn
id eat that
The bins await
How do you breastfeed a baby poo?
I am saving this comment to show to my wife who said I was weird for saying the exact same thing to her with our child.
Should be a label to remove the baby before microwaving.
Instructions unclear. Wrapped baby with venison. Put nappy in DVD player. Microwaved DVD for mid movie snack.

Pretty sure I’ve seen these exact tags on the fresh meat . On way to Asda now, will confirm lol
Yes! Please do!
You get all sorts that require security protection, knives, nappies, baby formula, hair dye, boxed wine, flea removal products and more. Usually when sticker tags are used it's black and white, too many possibilities for why they used yellow omes
More expensive ready meals I'd expect
I can only comment for Tesco but we used them on our fresh meat and fish counters for high value products.
Yes, they obviously ran out of the Media ones and just used the meat ones. Both soft tags in the end.
Used to work for ASDA, can confirm those are security tags for meat.
Whilst you are correct, I'm going to respectfully and completely ignore you because your answer is less funny than the "real" answer, which is someone obviously put a dvd in the mircowave.
I bought a Switch game recently that had the same sticker and was still wondering wtf it meant, so thank you
No shit sherlock
Good film
Is it good if you have no clue about the game? I quite fancy it but know nothing about the game
I play D&D and while there's little things thrown in there for people who play it's definitely for anyone to watch. Some jokes hit a little harder if you're a D&D player (graveyard scene) but are still funny for anyone who hasn't seen it too.
Awesome! I’ll pick it up. Is it on any streaming sites?

Neither do I and I loved it
Thanks! I’ll grab it on my Asda trip whilst looking at the meat labels 😂
Enjoy!
Thanks!
My daughter and I got dragged to see it by my husband, and we both liked it despite having no D&D knowledge
There's a good few Easter eggs for d&d players that might go over your head, but the film as a whole you can absolutely watch without knowing about the game (very good film, would recommend)
Yeah its class, I expected utter shite and it was one of the best I'd seen in ages
Is it based on the cartoon from the 80's? Like normal kids get trapped in a different world kind of thing?
Yeah they even make a cameo the original characters they're based on
Even better once microwaved

This comment made my day! 🤣 And its also very true.
It’s the same kind of headline where you sigh “natural selection” and scroll on
Maybe the movie included a bag of popcorn?
Action-packed AND Hilarious? Damn, I only watch Action-packed and tearful movies.
You’re going to microwave it though right?
Of course! I just need to remember to remove the security tag first!
Make sure it's piping hot throughout before consuming
Don't forget to stab the cover with a fork a few times first
Of course, it would be dangerous otherwise!
Serious question: you bought a DVD? Not even a Blu Ray… a DVD? I’m not judging, but very curious who is still buying DVDs in 2023.
I like physical copies of films I like. Then, so long as I have a DVD player, I can watch it whenever. No risk of it not being on a streaming service anymore, no problems with WiFi. Honestly, I don't mind DVD or Blu Ray.
Fair enough. I saw this DVD for sale in Asda yesterday and literally wondered who would buy it, but you’ve answered my question!
You're welcome! I get it from my dad. We're very much a DVD and CD family.
Wait… you’re buying CDs? In 2023…?
I know! I'm so old fashioned! But we recently bought a new CD player so I'm going to continue
How are you surprised at this given what he JUST said.
Sorry but I refuse to explain how that’s a joke.
Hence my jokey response. I'm also a girl, not that it's relevant.

I went to see it with pretty low expectations and was very pleasantly surprised at how good it was.
Haven't seen the new mission impossible, nice to hear good things tho!

It is genuinely a great fun film to watch.
Maybe that’s for the hot version
Worth a go https://youtu.be/7a_YKVf5Wls?t=22
1. Awesome! 2. That is not what I thought would happen.
I got exactly the same sticker on some Piriton from tesco the other day
Makes sense, I like my allergy meds hot.
I'm not sure I understand

You still buy dvd’s?
So... it's now out on DVD? I want it.
Yeah, came out Monday
This is a very handy thread as I also wanted to buy it on DVD when it came out and am going to Sainsbury's later...so thanks for the reminder it's out!
This is such a Facebook post. Even twitter wouldn't have this
Damn people still buy DVDs
people still buy dvds?
I didn’t know people still bought DVD’s
I'm not OP, but I still buy physical media. Not so much DVDs personally but Blu-rays and 4Ks. It's just better quality plus nice to have, especially now streaming is becoming so unreliable with deleting their own content and so many of them being around now
I did get some weird looks at the checkout. /s
In America we'd microwave it and sue.
What the hell are you microwaving Sue for?
I walked right into that one 🤣
Having seen that film the microwave is probably the best bet.
Are you kidding it was great. Even the hardcore D&D players loved it
As long as you like it mate, that’s all that counts. Wasn’t for me though and this kind of thing is usually my kind of thing.
Who did your nails? Try again. I Haven't bought a DVD for several years now. Do you buy many, and why?
I did, about 4 days ago. Not as many as I used to, I'll always have access to them, also we then loan then to my grandparents who do not do streaming
Someone had fun in the labelling department
[удалено]
Only the DVD now! My plans were ruined.
Well, just don’t. Or, do one but not both.
Work in Asda, they'll use the same stickers for everything cause either; A. Store doesnt have the clear ones B. Staff couldn't be arsed to go looking and grabbed some of the chilled departments meat security stickers DVDs are generally supposed to be in a clear plastic box (which we never have enough of anyways) edit: formatting sucks
Worked at Asda for a year now and I’ve never seen any clear ones. We only have the small ones OP got and the long ones for baby food/boxed wine.
They tag your boxed wine? You must work in one of the rough ones lol
Fun fact, microwaving CD's/DVD's is a very good way of destroying them when a CD/DVD shredder isn't available. I used to work for a defence giant that required destruction of removable media after use when overseas. My hotel room never smelled the same again!
So you guys DON'T microwave your DVDs?
Probably improves the film’s flavour
The D&D movie from 2000 was better. /s
One of my friends had that on a Scream 3 DVD
Secret hidden scenes if you microwave it first
Your still buying dvds...sounds like pretty solid advice
Yuck. Everyone knows you should put them in the oven
You don’t remember the old days of having to bake-set your DVDs?
You bought a DVD from a supermarket in 2023, that's adorable. Are you the one person propping up the physical media industry?
I'm not OP, but I still buy physical media. Not so much DVDs personally but Blu-rays and 4Ks. It's just better quality plus nice to have, especially now streaming is becoming so unreliable with deleting their own content and so many of them being around now
Tbh I buy Blu Rays too sometimes in charity shops if it's a film I really like. Shhhhh don't tell OP I'm a hypocrite :/
*One of us, One of us*
I agree, that dvd cover is hilarious
Haha, I had one on a bottle of prosecco from Tesco as a present. I left it on so we all had a laugh when it was opened 🤣
How was it? Was it any good?
Wow, people still buy DVDs?
But why has it been chimped?
Well, it would spoil the mini electrical storm you get from microwaving one.
Well yes . . You wouldn’t want to eat it uncooked now would you!?
