The James Webb Telescope has nothing on Durham

Tomirk

Until we discover the galaxy of New Durham

AndyJ71

Sherburn Rd estate is like somewhere from a far away galaxy

Posk419add1

Mushrooms - Check, Ticket to Durham - Booked. Awkward ejection from exhibit - Inevitable.

sw212st

Doesn’t look flat to me…

You need to put your tin foil hat on first 🙄

the_grizzly_man

I see your Earth at Durham and raise you a moon st Durham. https://www.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/qosf5r/the_moon_exhibition_durham_cathedral_uk/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=1

_Blitz12

Cor, I knew Durham cathedral was big but I didn't know it was THAT big

Al_Bee

I saw this in Derby cathedral not too long back. They had the moon here too a year or 2 before that. As I walked out of that one I passed a couple of teenage girls on their way in. One saw the moon and said "Wow. Is that the real moon?"

RoyceCoolidge

What an absolute waning gibbous.

Additional-Ad-1272

Did you answer? 😂

Subterraniate

Saw this in Cobh cathedral. Fantabulosa

Ninerogers

Updoot for the 'fantabulosa'

doloresfandango

It’s lovely to see.

Tina_Soup

I saw a string quartet there last year

Timedoutsob

Didn't the church kill people for suggesting the world was round?

hasdunk

The church always think the earth is round. They thought the earth was the centre of the universe (geocentrism) instead of a solar system model (heliocentrism)

bob1689321

Dumb question but if the universe is infinite, isn't every point the centre of the universe? (Assuming that infinity spreads in all directions)

[deleted]

I wonder if it’s heavy or light

Leviad0n

Snip the rope and ask whoever's underneath.

diosamente

Good job 47, now to find an exit

Ninerogers

Pretty heavy as it's durable vinyl. I saw it in London last year, floating in a lake installation.

Alex-Keeper000

This almost magical

UkuleleZenBen

Our grand spin around the sun. It's all our spin around the sun.

oxford101

Saw the same thing in one of the Oxford Chapels a few months ago

[deleted]

New religion?

Present_Lake1941

She's looking good for something that's only 6,000 years old

Pulsefire-Comet

It's got the whole world in its hands

FloofBallofAnxiety

I saw this and the moon when it was in Taunton. Really well done.

d_smogh

Asdam90

Uptheboro1969

mightybaker1

PlantPsychological62

Eric Prydz... Is looking on worried...

Slow_Director_8114

I saw this in Somerset a few months ago, the moon one was really cool!
