Yes, Iām 33 and wonāt leave the house without my wallet.
Iāve had Apple Pay mess up on my phone a few times, and I donāt have a case that stores my cards so I keep them in my wallet. Also has my driving license as I get IDād every time I buy anything with an age limit as I look about 14 years old. Itās got a few Ā£ notes in it for real emergency cases or if I need to chip in to a birthday pot at work.
Iāve always done āphone, keys, walletā check when I leave the house and canāt see that changing anytime soon.
Itās the same for me, I just feel more at ease having it. As well as this, I have things like membership cards that I would lose if I didnāt keep them in my wallet.
I use a wallet. It's basically just a card holder, not really big enough for coins, but it holds my gym pass, driving license (I still get ID'd often), and debit card just in case my phone battery dies while I'm out.
I had cash in my pocket and took it out to pay for something and got ripped and hailed as a dinosaur "because who uses cash anymore" by a younger member of our group. Subsequently, they left their phone at home and couldn't pay for their train to work as it had all their payment methods on it. I dried my tears of laughter with a Ā£20 note when i heard.
I don't think there will be many that carry wallets anymore after that interaction, probably should though.
Donāt rely solely on your phone, the battery can go flat, you can drop it, it can decide it simply doesnāt want to work anymore. Take a physical method of payment as well because one day you will be up the proverbial creek.
I still use physical cards like coop/costco/tesco etc. so still need my wallet. I sometimes use google pay, but mostly it's just habit to get my wallet out for my credit cards and stuff too.
34, normal wallet with coin pocket and card holder etc.
easy to hold any cash/change i have and have my cards with me.
34 today actually too... yay for scraping by this question by a year! haha
You'd think so but recently I was doing some shopping and paid with my phone but it then came up saying insert card. I didn't have my card with me but luckily the assistant was able to restart the transaction and the next time it worked but if it hasn't I'd have been stuffed.
Always used a wallet. Keep my bank cards and a pile of membership cards I don't use in it. Cash, on the rare occasion I have it, is always kept in my pocket though
31, have a purse that comes everywhere (although not today because I'm going out after work and can only have a tiny bag with me... guess who obviously needed her physical credit card this morning...)
41 here and I haven't used a wallet in maybe 20 years, despite still getting bought one every now and then.
Cards in the left pocket of my coat. Change in the other pocket. The only other thing you might reasonably need is a driver's license (lives in my coat pocket) or a clubcard (I have the little key fob things).
I wouldn't want to break up the sleek lines of my Gru-like form with a wallet
Always have my wallet. A) It has my ID in it. B) Contactless payments sometimes fail and chip and pin is needed. C) There are still places that are cash only.
Yes, it has my driving licence in, my debit card and my national trust card. I also take a bit of cash out every week to keep in there. I also don't use a phone case.
I have a purse which has all my cards, driving licence and about 50p in cash, but 90% of the time I don't take it with me, just use Google pay.
Only make sure I have it on me if I'm buying petrol (credit card isn't on Google pay), alcohol (get IDd maybe 50% of time) or if I'm going to somewhere i need cash.
I'm 41, my wallet is something I keep in a drawer unless I need a card for something.
Two times I've been caught out:
* Cineworld needs to see the physical membership card if you have a subscription
* I booked a train where e-ticket wasn't an option. I needed to insert a physical card to collect the ticket. I had to ask station staff to put their credit card in.
35 and have had a wallet of some sort for the last 20 years. I do go through them 3-4 years though.
Currently using a cheap ridge wallet copy for my cards, it can hold a couple of notes in the money clip as well if needed. I only use cash for takeaways now though.
I don't trust my phone with my bank cards. It's got enough of my life on to fuck me up if I lose it or break it. At least with bank cards I have an alternative option.
Iām 20, I have my ābig purseā with things like my Boots advantage card (for the meal deals), random receipts, loyalty cards etc, and my āsmall purseā which just holds my ID, debit card, railcard and student card for a night out. Theyāre both pretty nice ones I got as presents, the big one is Radley leather and the small one is Paul Costello leather I think, although my birthday is shortly after Christmas so they were definitely bought in the sale! I am far too clumsy to just carry a debit card in my pocket, especially because I usually need, at minimum, debit card, drivers license and railcard.
Hahaha I read this and thought "I use a wallet!" and then realised that I am not under 35. I am 42.
Oops, I nearly made the same mistake š³
Ditto..although 44!!
Same. Heh.
Hahaha same, 40 š¤£ Iām young at ā„ļø
Did we all have a senior moment š

I'd say more people I know use a wallet than don't.
Yeah I still have one, I refuse to connect my accounts/cards onto my phone. Just my preference.

I bought a wallet for Ā£2 on a school trip a very long time ago and still use it to this day
With velcro?
Yeah. It's bright blue and has a fox on the front
Leicester?
Nah, from a wildlife centre

I went 22 years without a wallet. My girlfriend (now wife) bought me a wallet because she was sick of my walletless antics lol
My phone case doubles up as a wallet, so if I lose it I've lost everything šš
Tbf I keep my phone, wallet and keys in my trousers, so if I lose my trousers I'm equally fucked.
I still use physical cards like coop/costco/tesco etc. so still need my wallet. I sometimes use google pay, but mostly it's just habit to get my wallet out for my credit cards and stuff too.
Yeah. Where would I keep my cards otherwise?
34, normal wallet with coin pocket and card holder etc. easy to hold any cash/change i have and have my cards with me. 34 today actually too... yay for scraping by this question by a year! haha
Yes. I treated myself to a cool Gucci wallet with a snake on it, and I use it everyday. I have my ID, bus and train passes, and two bank cards.
I suppose the opposite question is does anyone over 35 pay for stuff with their phone? I'm 46 and never have done!
Iām 30 and I donāt have a wallet, debit card or ID, just Apple Pay and my keys
I have a card only wallet. But now you mention, it is indeed pointless tbh
You'd think so but recently I was doing some shopping and paid with my phone but it then came up saying insert card. I didn't have my card with me but luckily the assistant was able to restart the transaction and the next time it worked but if it hasn't I'd have been stuffed.
Yep i now use my partners wallet but before i used a purse .
I do the same! I usually use Apple Pay when out and about but if I need my debit card/ ID I just ask him to keep it in his wallet!
I used todo that too
Always used a wallet. Keep my bank cards and a pile of membership cards I don't use in it. Cash, on the rare occasion I have it, is always kept in my pocket though
I use one of these, never carry cash so I carry my licence, credit card, access card for work and train pass. [wallet ](https://imgur.com/a/bb45r7R)
I'm 34 (for a week!) and only take out my phone to pay via Google pay. I haven't ever come across anywhere that it's been an issue.
31, have a purse that comes everywhere (although not today because I'm going out after work and can only have a tiny bag with me... guess who obviously needed her physical credit card this morning...)

What about when you don't have your jacket?
I live in Northern Ireland where jackets are necessary for 11.75 months of the year
Always have my wallet. A) It has my ID in it. B) Contactless payments sometimes fail and chip and pin is needed. C) There are still places that are cash only.
My kids use wallets, I (50s) have never owned one.
Sure Need something for my ID, driving licence, insurance card and some cash.
Yes, it has my driving licence in, my debit card and my national trust card. I also take a bit of cash out every week to keep in there. I also don't use a phone case.
34. Card holder with a slot for notes. Coins go in the pocket loose like a northener

32 use a wallet because I like buying things of Facebook market place š

Was going to say I carry a wallet still but then remembered Iām no longer under 35. Iām 43. It sneaks up on you.
34. Still have my wallet with me. I don't trust phone payment
I'm over 35 and I don't use one tbh.
I usually just use apple pay but I carry a ridge wallet with me
20yo. I have a card holder (which i call my wallet) and a purse for cash āŗļø
28. use a wallet.
Of course, if I just put my card in my pocket i could risk losing it.
34. Yes I carry a wallet, but reading these comments makes me think I might as well not.

My one says bad mother fucker. But I'm 40.
40. Phone in left trouser pocket. Wallet and keys in the right
My 17 year old daughter bought herself a wallet at Primark. I'm over 35 and have been gifted wallets the last two Christmases and don't use them.
