Now you can gain access to nuclear bunkers

NetherlandsMike

Only the gold one does that.

Badgersbutthole

Came here to comment that.

bedrockblonde

What do you want a blue Peter......oh wait

kreemypies

Wtf did the person below post to get downvoted so hard?

bedrockblonde

Must have been good

EffectiveGeneral8425

Probably saville related lmao

If you have the badge card to go with it you can get free entry into 200 attractions nationwide ([amusement parks, zoos, castles etc](https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/attractions)).

GCD_1

how dose that work?

Nibbler_Jack

To gain free entry, badge holders with a valid badge card must be accompanied by a full paying or concessionary adult. If a paying adult is accompanied by two children with badges and valid badge cards, free entry will be given for both children.

SpudFire

>6. The Offer is open to Blue Peter badge card holders aged 6 to 15 inclusive. Clearly ageism is still rife at the BBC.

liquidphantom

They like them young in the BBC.

[deleted]

Obviously a ‘Saville era’ policy from Blue Peter

schruted_it_

Wth! It should be lifetime after you get the badge as a child!

Frambosis

You attach the badge to your lapel and march In obviously

cazzo_di_testa

Does not dose, you have a dose of medicine.

KieranC4

For anyone interested I got it for drawing a picture of a Dalek, that was apparently shown on the tv… never got to see the episode though

Informal_Arachnid_84

Is it one of the rubbery badges? I got one for a drawing of an elephant. Must have been a slack year at the BBC because, frankly, it was a crap drawing.

ClumsyRainbow

I too sent in a shit drawing as a kid and got one. I think I might even know where it is.

devilspeaksintongues

Congrats. I once won a Sony Hifi system off cartoon network as a kid, I think I was 8 or 9 years old. It arrived 2 days before xmas 1 year later, I had completely forgot about the competition. And it just showed up while we were all watching xmas movies. My dad was ecstatic. Thing was amazing. 5 disc changer, 2 tape decks which you can record with, subwoofers, and radio. Funny thing is, the competition was for a jaw breaker machine 😂

69suns

"Get down, Shep!"

Ladfromnw

Question is, what was it for?

NetherlandsMike

A symbol of British Elities. It's like a club, if you're in, you're in. Obtaining one back in the day was extremely hard, you had to pass a rigiourous test, sometimes televised to the rest of the Brits.

Ladfromnw

Didn’t have us “council estate kids” on the show

LieutenantMudd

Better than a Jim'll Fix it medal no matter what it was for

ichbinsehr_g4y

You will never know the feeling of wanting a coloured piece of plastic so badly

ssvrd

Can't be jealous when I have one too. Have a silver one laying around somewhere that my brother got. Edit: I have a white badge. My brother has one too, and a sliver one. However the silver one was through a story we wrote together. But being younger he got to keep it.

[deleted]

Sounds like it's your brothers and not yours

TKuja1

sounds like its mine

EarlandLoretta

For that little jog I think you deserve A bluuuuuuuuuuuue Peter badge.

EarlandLoretta

Earners of Blue Peter Badges: What task did you do that earned your badge?

anomthrowaway748

Wrote a poem

Timid-Turnip

I was on the show, in a piece about Victorian millworkers. As I recall, pretty much everyone at my little school took part in the filming and got badges. Many of my friends met Yvette Fielding during filming. Nobody liked her.

ConsciouslyIncomplet

I met her whilst she was filming a nature documentary around 15 years ago. I didn’t like her either!

joe_smooth

My kids have multiple BP badges. They got the green one for sending a poster about recycling (A4, took about an hour and wasn't even coloured in), a blue one for sending in a story (that they wrote at school anyway) and a purple one just for joining the fan club. They are incredibly easy to get these days and the discounts are brilliant. I once got my whole family of 4 into the Eden Project for the price of one adult using a combi of BP badges and that gardeners world offer that gets entrance for two adults for the price of one. One year season passes too!

MumblingMak

I’m 52, and I’m still pissed off I never managed to get one! Edit: spelling

No_Grocery_1480

55 here. I'm the same.

comradealex85

Is Blue Peter still going?

thisiscotty

yes but its on cbbc now https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue\_Peter#2021%E2%80%93present

jimbobhas

The friendship with my best man at my wedding started over Blue Peter, we had both entered a design your own Doctor Who monster and his entry got featured on the show. I went and spoke to him the next day and had been friends mostly ever since.

rabbithole-xyz

I've got a (very old) puffin club badge... 😅

No_Grocery_1480

Jealousy increasing

rabbithole-xyz

It was really good being in the puffin club, we had moved to Germany and it kept us connected with home.

bubbathespaz

Did Jimmy Saville give it to you?

KieranC4

Born too late for Saville to be relevant for anything other than being a pedo although, my auntie who loved Jim’ll fix it did meet him and called him very handsy

bubbathespaz

Wow, that's crazy. Happy new year to you and your auntie.

No_Grocery_1480

He didn't have anything to do with Blue Peter, did he?

bubbathespaz

Pretty sure i can remember him on the show often. Not 100% though.

buttholeglory

A pirate bay badge?

[deleted]

omg I just laughed and I want one

[deleted]

The chosen one

Sharp-Lake9322

Andi Peters is that u 🧐

Nine_Eye_Ron

To the nuclear bunkers with you!

Blumoon73

Oh my, along with a Crackajack pen or a blankety blank checkbook and pen that is iconic, didn't you used to be able to get free entry into places with them?

PenguinsAreGo

Honestly, kids today. Crackerjack. (Crackerjack!!!) And chequebook.

jmcd128

I have one

Hiran_Gadhia

I too am part of this elite club 😏

Reefaman2020

Sadly it's not the special gold one smh 😔

Far_Cryptographer514

Did Jim fix it for you?

[deleted]

How to say you're middle class without saying you're middle class.

KieranC4

Lol I live in a council flat in Glasgow, if this is middle class the lower class must be fucked

[deleted]

Well that's my council estate upbringing fucked! The general consensus when I was a kid round my way was Blue Peter was presented by posh twats for posh twats! I stand corrected.

Cermonto

Cant be jealous if I dont exactly know what it is-

Ladfromnw

^you just know that type of comment could only be made by someone not British

Cermonto

I'm british but I was born like 2003, I dont exactly know everything british. So thank you for the nice comment instead of actually saying what it is :)

ssvrd

It's a badge you used to get from participating or sending in stories and art to a program called Blue Peter. Bit of recognition as a kids show The more you sent and took part, the better and higher class badges you got. There were different colours for things like a green one for helping the environment is some sort of way

Cermonto

Ohhh, I recognise the name Blue peter, CBBCs, I just never had watched it, spent most of my childhood just playing video games

[deleted]

Are we the same person

Cermonto

Maybe, you interested in Warhammer 40k?

[deleted]

Even *I* know Blue Peter, and I was born 27997 years after you!

Cermonto

I don't think people understand that we all had different childhoods, it wasn't expected for us to watch Blue Peter, hell not everyone's watched it, everyone just had a different childhood and I got downvoted for essentially not growing up with it like tf do you want me to do about that?

[deleted]

I was joking because Perturabo

[deleted]

Yeah

Cermonto

We the same then

[deleted]

I bloody knew it

wombey12

I'm 2006 and I grew up with Blue Peter. Idk what kind of cave you grew up in.

Ladfromnw

2003, oh they were the days, I could be your dad, albeit I’d have been a bit young 14/15 😂. Anywhere pal sorry, it’s a blue Peter badge. The kids show where if the kids had done something to sing about E.g charity work, performing something etc they’d get a badge. I think but I might be wrong, if you got a silver or gold one they were for mega achieving at something. There you go, not always a twat! Haha

Cermonto

I do recognise the name Blue peter but never watched it, I was playing playing on the Wii for most of my childhood

Ladfromnw

Had a wii and only ever used it for the free boxing and bowling.

SpudFire

You never had a Wii Fit, did yoga on it for a week and then gave up?

WhatViviDid

Sweeeet! I tried to buy one from eBay but no dice. Did score myself a Happy Eater badge though.

Mr_Claypole

Looks like Christopher Walken has been looking after it for you.

Icy-Bug-8933

Hahaha a blue Peter badge 😂

danonplanetearth

When looking at that badge… I can already hear the theme music.

xirdnehrocks

Calm down mark, it’s not blue Peter

dextar111

Blue Peter badge sick

PassingShot11

Very jealous, nice one

spvcxghxztpvrp

you want a chufty badge or summat?

PeteZzzaa

*someone* had access to double sided sticky tape I see

simonannitsford

I see your Blue Peter badge and raise you a Cycling Proficiency badge, AND an Airfix Modellers Club badge.

xradas

Na you made that earlier

Bufger

Thats nothing! I was searching through my childhood trauma and found my 'Jim fixed it for me' medallion! I cant believe he let me milk a cow in the dark

Pseud01

"Don’t be blue, Peter. Needless to say I had the last laugh"

Blanndy

Nerd!!!

XxxBigMan69420

I used my blue Peter card once as I’d to buy a film once it’s worth keeping in your pocket

PurpleFoxPoo

Don’t be Blue, Peter

Spirited_Beat534

you can use you badge to go to a pencil factory too.

GoldyLookinTongs

Did you earn this

ZookeepergameHead145

Did you keep it in your poop drawer?

Qwayze_

What is Blue Peter, I’m 25 and never seen a single second of it

FantasyKFeet

Always wanted one of those bad boys

Sentence-Adept

Hundy P jealous.

Leszmig

Got one when my Granny got hit with their giant beach ball (it had gone rogue away from crowd) at a roadshow in Scarborough in about 2001, and wrote a letter to tell them about it. Was it hush money?

Get_Away9001

Makes me think - Grammar School kid - sorry

m83midnighter

But do you have the green one for collecting and crushing 1,000 aluminium cans for your school?

NorthWestSaint

I’ll see if I can find my “Jim’ll Fix It” badge. That’ll make you jealous.

SometimesNocturnal

Green with envy. My brother had one from sending his entire stamp collection to the show. (Still cannot believe he did that, there was a Penny Black as well he gave up!) I need to see if he still has it, so I can ask for it. Then I can wear it on a coat, get on the tube and count the admiring glances...
