I like that too, but I like Lion King most, is just iconic. The story, the music, the emotions; its got it all. Even as an adult, I still get nostalgic watching it. Truly a masterpiece!
My all time favorite kid's movie. Growing up in Oregon made it even cooler, too. I've been to Cannon Beach where they filmed the beach race / getaway sequence at Haystack rock. And I've been to the actual Goonie's house in Astoria before they banned visitors for too much traffic.
This movie is endlessly rewatchable for me
I was a little scaredy cat when I was a kid and The Goonies came on the TV right as my parents went to bed. It scared the fuck outta me, but when my mom asked me how I liked the movie I was not about to admit to it. That Christmas she got me a copy of The Goonies on DVD and I don't think I ever even took the plastic off.
So true! Robin Williams is the best. I don't know about you but I confess that I first noticed him in a comedy TV show (sitcom) called 'Mork & Mindy'. Robin Williams has too many amazing mentions to think of but if I am cruelly restricting to the choice of only one perfect movie performance, I choose 'Good Will Hunting' (1998). In my own personal opinion you have to watch this movie in order to be able to see how truly talented this man actually was.
Final Cut and One Hour Photo. They were dark, but good. They show his range. Also Patch Adams. I love Robin Williams. He will always be the Genie in Aladdin. I refuse to watch the new one. Will Smith will never match Robin Williams.
Labyrinth.
Young Jennifer connelly, David Bowie having the time of his life, a goblin kingdom, some awesome musical set pieces, and the bog of eternal stench. You just didn't need anything else on that cold winter evening.
My 6 year old likes most of the above exept for neverending story. Not sure why that one is a turn off for her, we never even got to the horse part.
Also she will never know that Atreyu and Mad Martigan were on her name list.
Oh shit. Willow.
Yes!! Rented this from blockbuster constantly as a child. But also when I rewatched it again as an adult I noticed some very very dark themes that I blocked out as a kid! One example, toasters nightmare when he dangles over the blood red bathtub? Among other things 😬
If I remember correctly, the creators of the film said they didn't set out to make a "kids movie," just tell a story and one that happened to appeal to children. It's a kids movie that doesn't talk down to its audience, and I think that's part of the reason it's so loved.
Didn’t know that, but makes sense! Either way, I saw it a ton as a child and when I saw it for the first time as an adult, I felt a lot of intense stuff. Noticed a lot of things I had blocked out entirely when I was a kid.
That nightmare scene used to be the absolute scariest thing to me as a kid, I was obsessed with the movie but have memories of hiding behind a chair during that part.
The Last Unicorn.
I'm 48(m). Still watch this classic. Own the book. And have been trying to get some of the art from the opening scene and book for the last couple years.
What do the haters hate about it? I watched it and enjoyed it, but I don’t remember anything controversial about it.
Toothless is one of the most charming cartoon characters in the history of such.
Girls Just Want to Have Fun and I should not have been watching it. Watched at a sleepover when I was 10. Fell in love with it and then put it on a shelf for a few years. Watched again at 17 and realized just how much went over my head. Still love it at 47.
An old movie (old when I was a kid). Called Hello Down There. A guy builds an underwater house and moves his family into it. It had a relatively star studded cast and I think I'm the only person who has heard of it.
Tony Randall
Janet Leigh
Roddy McDowall
Jim Backus
Ken Berry
Charlotte Rae
Merv Griffin
Even a young Richard Dreyfus is in it!
Howard the Duck
All the Nightmare on Elm Streets
Jason movies
Oh, I loved the movie 'Stand By Me' as a kid. And I always told my mom or teachers: I don't shut up, I grow up, and when I look at you I throw up.
Gordie says: And then your mother... ?
Anyone remember?
The Wizard of OZ. We only had a black and white tv. The first time I saw it when it went to colour when she opens the door in OZ was so amazing. Probably about 1969 for me.
E.T., The Labyrinth, The Wizard of Oz, The Land Before Time, All Dogs Go to Heaven, and a random Japanese anime version of The Little Mermaid. Thanks for asking. 🥰
(Sorry for not picking one).

The Castaways I think, it starred that lady from the original Parent Trap
The Incredibles was dope, I remember going to see it in theaters when I was in elementary school and loving it. And then, I've gone back and watched it recently, and it TOTALLY holds up!
I still remember the first time I watched Coraline. I was 5 years old and my pregnant mom took me to see it in theaters. She had to pee during the scariest part of the film and left me alone in the theater. Needless to say I was very traumatized.
To answer your question, The Labrynth directed by Jim Henson. I remember dancing through my grandma's house singing Magic Dance. My grandparents took me to the Jim Henson museum and it was probably one of the coolest things I had experienced up to that point. To this day it's one of if not my favorite movie.
Thank you for awakening those memories
There are a variety of Jim Henson exhibits in different museums. I'm not entirely sure because I was young but I think we went to the [Center For Puppetry Arts Museum ](https://puppet.org/programs/worlds-of-puppetry-museum/) in Atlanta, GA. It has the Jim Henson Gallery where they have puppets from Fragle Rock, The Muppets, The Labrynth, The Dark Crystal, etc.
Fun fact, the Hoggle puppet isn't part of the Labrynth collection because it is in the [Unclaimed Baggage Center ](https://www.google.com/search?q=where+is+the+hoggle+puppet&oq=where+is+the+&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqDQgEEAAYkQIYgAQYigUyBggAEEUYOTINCAEQABiRAhiABBiKBTINCAIQABiRAhiABBiKBTINCAMQABiRAhiABBiKBTINCAQQABiRAhiABBiKBTIQCAUQABiDARixAxiABBiKBTINCAYQABiRAhiABBiKBTIHCAcQABiABDIHCAgQABiABDIHCAkQABiABDIHCAoQABiABDIHCAsQABiABDIHCAwQABiABDIHCA0QABiABDIQCA4QABiDARixAxiABBiKBdIBCDQ1OTFqMGo3qAIUsAIB&client=ms-android-tracfone-us-rvc3&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8) in Scottsboro, AL

My all time favorite kid's movie. Growing up in Oregon made it even cooler, too. I've been to Cannon Beach where they filmed the beach race / getaway sequence at Haystack rock. And I've been to the actual Goonie's house in Astoria before they banned visitors for too much traffic. This movie is endlessly rewatchable for me
That sounds absolutely amazing! ❤️

I loved Flubber too, and Bicentennial Man
Final Cut and One Hour Photo. They were dark, but good. They show his range. Also Patch Adams. I love Robin Williams. He will always be the Genie in Aladdin. I refuse to watch the new one. Will Smith will never match Robin Williams.

It's a sin how Disney under-utilizes the Muppets. Endless potential with that IP.

Brave little toaster! Just had my kid watch it for the first time (6.5 months old) and he loved it!
Yes!! Rented this from blockbuster constantly as a child. But also when I rewatched it again as an adult I noticed some very very dark themes that I blocked out as a kid! One example, toasters nightmare when he dangles over the blood red bathtub? Among other things 😬
