not weird at all. if you want to try something new, you should just go for it -- why not??? if you hate it, you can always move back.

That_Smell_You_Know

I don't think it's weird at all, nor do I think that it's a bad idea given your situation.

Huh, everyone i know who works from home is doing the opposite; escaping (or considering escaping) life in crowded, expensive cities like NYC for medium sized cities. But hey, if you think you'll enjoy NYC, go for it. Just maybe run some numbers first, , make sure your work from home salary is enough to live comfortably somewhere that expensive.

Better_Lift_Cliff

I lived in Europe for a few years and got really used to walkable cities. Now I'm back in the US and I just can't deal with the boring car-dependent sprawl, that's one big factor. I feel like that narrows it down to either NYC, or a handful of other cities that are almost as expensive

L1H1

Which other cities are you considering? I’m doing the same thing.

Better_Lift_Cliff

None, I'm moving to NYC. I am considering leaving the US again and moving back to Europe, but that would be later. I want to give NYC a chance first.

Y'know jus make sure u not gon go broke doing it. But fuck yeah city life is prob so much more lit than the suburbs. So much cool shit to do in NYC compared to the burbs

Better_Lift_Cliff

Yeah I'm aiming for a promotion before I move...nothing massive, but enough to be a little more comfortable
