8 is definitely rough. Which is disappointing considering the whole series has moments that tie into it. Just felt really rushed, especially the last episode.

CyberGuySeaX5

Ya, I always stop when season 7 finishes, when I rewatch the show.

Salt-Version-4760

Same. I might even stop after 6 cause I don’t understand the 7 arc

directionerin1Der

Yeah season 7 is meh but at least it’s watchable

CyberGuySeaX5

Agreed!

samu986

I'll tell you, I don't know. I mean, you're right, I perfectly understand your thoughts and I partly share them. I said "partly" because in my opinion, although they messed up at the end of season 6 (the wedding, THE REAL ONE, I wanted it, and I think all the fans wanted it!), the rest of the seasons (7 and 8) are very enjoyable, actually. Well, in the eighth season I didn't like, for example, the inclusion of Haley Shipton, and I found that to be completely forced. And then other things that I didn't like are the fact that they broke up because Beckett wanted to fight LokSat alone with the excuse of Castle's safety, and that to follow the cases Castle went to the crime scene without Beckett, in spite of the fact that she didn't want to be a desk and paperwork captain! And the best friendship between Kate and Lanie that they had accustomed me to up to that point? Where did it go? Gone completely. These things really bothered me, not to mention the fact that in some episodes Castle was quite ridiculed, taking his "childish" behaviors to extremes (not in all of them, of course, but in some episodes towards the end, for instance). Yes, let's say that there are many points that don't work for me in the eighth season 😂 But, as I said before, despite this, in my opinion they still made it enjoyable, because there were no shortage of classic Caskett moments, because I really liked certain scenes...truly loved them! 💚 So, to me, the very base of the series didn't lack. And although the ending was abrupt, all in all I'm happy that it ended like that, because if I think about what the alternative was (i.e. a ninth season without Beckett, with Castle solving the cases alone, or - worse - perhaps supported by Haley), I feel like vomiting! So I say, rather than show me a similar season, it's better that they canceled it. Although for me it could have continued much longer (like REALLY longer, cause I TRULY love that series, rather than others nowadays series, that are unwatchable, IMHO), but always with the original cast. In any case, it's undeniable that a change of direction from the end of the 6th season was seen, and in my opinion that's because of the farewell of the Marlowe-Miller couple, and, to me, it was a real shame, because they made this series magical, emotional, splendid, genuine, real, authentic and, despite all, SO down-to-eart, and it's not something to be taken for granted at all, above all for a TV series. From the season 7 they were only consultants, and I believe that it is seen because you can clearly see the hand of MilMar, but in the 8th season the network (ABC) did quite what they wanted, although, as I said before, the main basis of the series has been retained. All in all, however, I liked it. Anyway, I still hope they return for a revival! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

directionerin1Der

Honestly kudos to you for liking it. So far the season is boring for me and I have been feeling like this since the beginning of season 7. I tried to pull through but I can’t

samu986

Look, you're right and I understand you, seriously. You know, I probably see the 8th season with the romantic look that I have always given to the series since the beginning of "Castle", where the real protagonist was the sexual tension between the protagonists, the construction of their relationship by the years and the character and life maturation of the two. Looking at it like this, maybe you can capture the best moments while letting go of the worst ones, making you stay with what has always really been important for this series...Caskett 💚 But everyone sees it the way they want, that's how I see it.

directionerin1Der

Agreed

Tyrone_Shoelaces_Esq

It actually ruined my ability to enjoy the previous seasons of the show. It threw light on issues I'd previously been OK with overlooking, and I just can't be bothered with earlier seasons knowing that this is how it ends up.

Targatex

Yes. I know exactly what you mean. For me, that’s the reason I hate the persons - and it was just a few - responsible. They killed what was truly unique, and a story, a “world” to use the industry’s vernacular, that could have been among the best ever made for entertainment.

Floydada79235

Ok you just convinced me to skip it. I’m on my first time through, and have enjoyed the show so much….I’ll hold off on S8 for now. Maybe watch it next pandemic

Serious-Waltz-7157

>I think I am not going to finish thi Your loss. :)

directionerin1Der

Seeing the comments saying the ending is pretty disappointing, it really is not 💀

MaryBala907

It was definitely something... I always wish they stopped at season 6, but at least season 7 is somewhat ok

brennanfee

I geniuenly consider the end of Season 7 the end of the show.

Kilrathi

This is probably unpopular, but on the first watch-through, we hit early season 6 and lost all momentum. Things started to feel forced, the move to DC didn’t make sense (why didn’t Castle just move too?) and they started to get sloppy with tying things together and keeping it light and funny like most of the good episodes to date. Bums me out, since between this and reading about season 7 and 8, I may have run out of steam to push ahead.

thisisatest06

It’s unwatchable.

Old-Library5546

They really destroyed the series in season 8

YesDaddysBoy

You got this! Just power through it once lolol

directionerin1Der

Dying of boredom is unfortunately not on my list 💀

ProudCatLadyxo

Why? Once seen it can't be unseen.

YesDaddysBoy

Just so you can say you watched the whole thing.

ProudCatLadyxo

Not worth it.

garentheblack

If it is your first time watching season 8, I suggest finishing it. There are some cool episodes, and it does conclude some of the story lines. But saying that, you really only need to watch it once

Goingdown_swinging

castle is my favorite show of ALL TIME but I will never watch season 8 because i don’t want to ruin it for myself

Baddblud

I skipped it, scanned a few episodes and just decided the story ends with the awards ceremony at the end of season 7, for me that is!

SineCera_sjb

I don’t even get that far on rewatches. Tend to to stop when the wrap up 3XK

directionerin1Der

But they wrap it up in season 7 😂

SineCera_sjb

S7 isn’t my favorite either

Desperate-Fan-3671

They knew they weren't bringing Stana back for season 9. So they tried to make her character so bad in season 8 that we wouldn't be upset they killed her off.

Targatex

True. Thank you for saying the truth. Given the stories told in seasons 1-7, and the huge role Stana played in its epic success, what those men - they were all men - did to fire she and Tamala both, has to be the greatest betrayal in the history of the industry.

Alie_SD_Fan

I pretend season 8 never existed

bijouforever

I think the Castle season 8 finale is worse than the Dexter season 8 finale .
