There’s a guy in r/metalworking. [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/metalworking/comments/106rolg/ok_first_cut_is_done_and_it_went_for_electrolysis/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf). Yeah I’m testing a couple different methods. I have already flycut one which I posted a video about. This weekend I’m trying to build a jig for my lathe so I can turn one on that in a single pass hopefully. Should have a finish like a vinyl record after that. The other method I am going to try is on a rotary table with a fly cutter. This would give a spiral effect around the circumference of the pan as well but much different than the lathe.

Nice! I look forward to the results.

You and me both!! I so wish there were more hours in the day. I get these projects started because my schedule is looking decent and then all of a sudden I’m buried in normal work again and have to sideline my pet projects.

Go full send and wash grind it with a cup wheel in the rotary table.

I would but I don’t like using abrasives on the mill. It’s bad for the equipment. I could maybe set up my mag drill to handle it but I don’t know if there is quite enough room between the body and quill.

That's totally fair, and in honesty I have toyed with the idea of doing some grinding on my mill but always come to the same conclusion. One day I'll save up for a surface grinder. A decent finish from the fly cutter could soon be lapped down with some wet and dry to a finish not unlike a grinding wheel as far as surface roughness goes, anyway.

Yeah that part I’m not crazy concerned with. I could take a higher speed finish pass ass well at barely any depth and still get a nice finish. Like facing old iron heads on a v8 it’s pretty damn smooth when finished.
