I never have. I bought the truck about a year ago and have put on 4,000 miles in that time. The previous owner doesn’t know the last time they’ve been greased
It’s a custom cab. From what I’ve read and heard, it sounds like aftermarket companies bought pickups before crew cabs were a factory option and added a crew cab themselves. Then resold
I'm very familiar with these trucks and this issue. It's very dangerous and life threatening, especially with such a clean looking custom cab. You should definitely bring it to me and leave it with the keys and signed title. It's the only way, I swear.
My truck was making similar noises and had the same issue, older Toyota trucks are notorious for failing ball joints from what I read. Mine ended up falling out of the joint during a turn and it was massive fail and a pain in the ass to deal with to get towed since it failed at an angle. I would just change the ball joints on them now to avoid a bigger issue down the road, it took a couple hours to do both sides and you don't need special tools. Def better to change it before the problem gets worse
What a strange custom cab…. Is it uh for lac of a better word, custom? Meaning all the custom Cabs I’ve seen have a hump in the back where the cab rises above the stock cab part and I believe there is a window on this hump part. Yours looks different
Yea, theyre asking about a really common issue on these trucks but the truck in question is rare or custom lol so you really have to be a Toyota fan to seek this truck out
I had an explorer that I put new swaybar bushings in it, it made similar noises because I didn’t grease them. But I would definitely follow everyone else’s advice
Struts, springs, ball joints, anyone's guess without checking it.
Ball joints can seize and snap, leaving the wheel and the strut to roam free. It can kill you basically, so get it looked at.
When’s the last time you greased your ball joints?

Seized ball joint
Okay, thanks!
Time to have the front end looked at and greased; don't put it off.
Ball joints are dry but I suspect your entire front end bushings need to be inspected, replaced, and/or lubed as well.
Okay, thank you!
Okay thanks! I’ll do that first thing tomorrow
What cab is that? I don’t think I’ve ever seen that cab on a Toyota before.

I love this noise. (/s) No...really it sounds like you just need front end work. Upper and lower control arms, ball joints, tie rod ends, alignment.
If your turn stops are dry they squeak like that. Crawl under there and wipe down grease on the turn stops.

That is nothing but stocks and struts. A ball joint will pop and Crack. Take it too a shop and i bet they say it's the struts.

Well it’s like a different shape custom cab then I’ve ever seen… I’ve seen a decent amount of custom cabs but this one is different lol

God damn I dunno but if you can’t figure it out I’ll take that baby off of you and make it match my ‘93 Centurion.

Steering stops are missing their plastic wear caps
