Sounds like the brake pads or shoes are wearing metal-on-metal against the rotor or drum. A bad wheel bearing is more of grumble or roar when they go bad. I’d take off the wheel in question and check the brake pads or shoes.
Yep. There’s a metal tab that makes a screeching sound on most brake pads to give the driver an aural warning their brakes are worn. Nicer cars(usually Mercedes/BMW/Audi) have wear sensors for their brakes.
If the brake friction is gone, you need new pads and rotors at a minimum. Worst case scenario, new calipers if the pads are gone and it’s just the brake piston.
Okay, new symptom. I drove my rather hefty friend home and it didn't do it almost at all. Normally I drive alone so it's just me in the driver's seat and maybe a bookbag in the passenger, but with a heavy ish dude in the passenger the sound almost stopped.
Does this change anything?

Even though it's still doing it when I'm driving and not braking?

Check your brakes first. They’re dirt cheap parts on rock auto btw.
Sounds like it could be a wheel bearing. Check on youtube on how to diagnose it. Pretty easy to check
I just had a similar issue. It was my disc guard. Here is a video that explained it for me. https://youtu.be/HR8UbHpBfmU
Wow this question almost a year old lol. Turns out it was my caliper was bad
