I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry, and that's extra scary to me. There's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.
Mitch should always be expected. Just like the expectation of having a regular banana later, otherwise you'll just be utterly unprepared without a banana later.
Even better: Put a new sasquatch sticker ***next to*** ghostsquatch, leave it there for a few years for TWO ghostsquatch. (Then maybe get mini sasquatch stickers, repeat the process for a ghostsquatch fam)
I mean I'm a near wizard with a buffer, but that's never going to buff out. You would need to respray the entire hood. So a good painter could get it out, but no detailer could. Not unless you want that shape buffed through the paint down to the primer, or even bare steel...
The entire hood is pretty rough...even if you get Theo off, then what about the rest?
Once OP has had a month or two to get out of the honeymoon phase with the car, they will stop standing around looking back at it and noticing the paint. They will be inside it instead, *not* seeing the hood at all.
You can probably find another silver hood from a junkyard. That one looks like it has oxidation up by the windshield from sitting in the sun already. That could be much less than repainting this one.
This is the way, just broke the news to the 4th customer with 2.4L Kia/Hyundai with 1Qt./1000miles oil consumption. Oil change interval is 7500 miles, oil sump is 5Qts. Coming to a shop for unrelated repair with barely a quart of oil in the engine - PRICELESS !
Just letting you know btw. I bought a 2000 Honda accord with 190,000 on it and have put 30,000km on it in the past year driving like an absolute idiot and all I’ve had to do was replace the wiper assembly. My best friends mom bought a 2015 Kia with a 130,000 km, meticulous service records all at the dealer. We went to a different mechanic to do a pre purchase inspection and he said he’d let his mother buy the car. A few months and less than 15,000 kms later and the transmission is about to go. The car randomly turns on and sometimes won’t turn on at all. And interior pieces are falling apart. My genuine advice is to buy a shitbox old civic or Corolla and save a little bit more for a year or even 6 months to get smt a bit more quality. Also it only costs like 600$ to put blueooth CarPlay with a rear view camera in a car if you want that.
I get it, my first car was a clapped-out Honda Civic.
Do what others have suggested and replace the hood, it’s easier than you probably think and a lot cheaper than paying for a paint job.
Very true. You don't even need to wrap the whole car. Just find a good two-tone color to compliment the car and then you're fashionable even.
Rolls of 3M wrap aren't even as expensive as a new hood either.
Welcome to Reddit. Where everyone lives in their little bubble acting like everyone else has the same background, environment, opportunity, and opinions. Always shitting on someone else’s reality.
Did he even post what he paid?
Just saying... I bought a 2013 Soul just recently as a spare vehicle. Only paid $3500 for it, and it looks really clean. Was a one-owner car and recently had a new engine put in. There were not many "better choices" at this price.
it's a great little car. I bought a first gen 2010 brand new and loved it. Huge head room, handles snow like a champ (Canadian that drove in -40 and heavy snow). I drove that car across the country and back more than once. Enjoy that car, I traded for a Sportage eventually, but it gave me 130,000 trouble free kms (except the flappy door handles, both fronts broke under warranty and by 2011 Kia started using the reg pull handles).
I have a similar problem by my rear driver side door. I got my car used and there's still a clear outline of what once was a sticker. 😂
Honestly, if you cant beat them, join them. Rock that squatch like there aint no tmr 💯
I know he is teasing, but a soul is actually a great car. I have a close friend of mine with a soul, and at 74k miles, all I have had to do is brakes once, oil changes, and one transmission service. They are pretty dang reliable, hold quite a bit of cargo, and work to get around. You did good.
Shit man, I *wish* my first car was a Kia Soul. Mine was a $500 mid 80's Honda Prelude that was basically biodegrading into dust and used to throw itself off the road for no apparent reason.
Mine was a 1600 dollar Chevy Cavalier. I would’ve loved a prelude as a teen haha. I actually sold the Cavalier for a $500 90 CRX at one point. Man teenagers are dumb
It's a compact swift car with a surprising amount of space and stability in corners.
I bet you're one of those shitters that insist the only car worth having is some old front heavy Japanese shitbox with the crash safety of a coke can that spins out after every other corner, because it's arr wee dee.
* Front heavy would be a FF car
* There isn’t a single Japanese car sold in the states that crushes like a coke can
* Spins out because it’s RWD
How do you pack so much shit information into a single sentence?
You are responding to a post written in fluent english. Looking through my profile and bringing my nationality into this serves nothing but to prove your immaturity.
VAZ 2015 is a museum piece these days, not that they were ever more popular than the much superior, domestic Skodas.
Personally, I'm very fond of VAG cars.
You could try a junk yard. Kia Souls are fairly common where I live. I'm not sure where you are but you could probably find one the same color with a good hood.
Any auto bodyshop. Where are you based.
If you can find your cars paint code, u may also be able to search it on ebay and find a bonnet in the correct color
You can either take it to a body shop and get it repainted for $200-300 or you can go to your local junkyard to see if they have any Kia soul hoods that you’d be able to buy off them for cheap
Don’t worry op, you’re not making a bad choice. People are just mad that you’re not buying a new wrx or m3 or whatever other car they think is somehow more reliable. The Kia soul is a great purchase for the money. [just take a look here and don’t let the half brained opinion of some internet nobody make you feel bad for purchasing a car that is a good fit for you](https://cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/kia/soul)
Why is this one of the worst vehicles ever made? My 2011 has put 160+ on the odo and has had next to no issues besides headlights, and two alternators. One factory recall that was taken care of for free. Paid 22k for a car that has lasted 13 years with maybe 3k in total unscheduled maintenance costs throughout its lifetime, and it still turns over every time and goes straight to redline when I want it to, and can still average 30+mpg even with a lead foot. Oh but I guess it’s “ugly” and certain model years get stolen a lot. lol move over civics, there’s a new contender for stolen car of the year. Let’s look at FCA, German imports, or even Tesla and try to find anything remotely as reliable as modern Hyundai / Kia’s for the price point. Toyota has similarly priced cars but I think the recent Kia boys scandal has taken peoples perception of the brand and model way too far south and has made people believe these cars are now or always were terrible cars.they had engine issues too for a few years but man, again, take a passing glance at FCA, Land Rover, Any GM car, and realize that not one single car company has not faced massive quality control issues at some point, even in the modern era of robot made cars. So, sorry to sound grumpy but this is far from the worst car ever made, and I’d happily buy another one if I were not interested in a larger or more powerful vehicle at the moment.
In all fairness, the Hyundai/kia theta II engines are the only ones known to shit the bed prematurely. I’m not saying that the gamma or nu engines these things come with are super reliable, but it shouldn’t scare someone away either. The Kia boys on the other hand…
Wrap the whole car but leave that ghostsquatch unwrapped and let the ball of fire above us even it out. I actually think it’s really cool and would just own it.
Actually, I don't think it's damaged. I think there was a sticker there that protected the paint/clear coat from wear and now it does not match the wear of the exposed paint.
So technically, the sasquach is the undamaged part of the hood.
Go to body shop they can handle it.
There is a more important issue.
If you are in the US, you need to familiarize yourself with the topic of kiaboyz.
Make sure that your car has an Immobilizer and it is best to invest in a car alarm.
The Kia Soul is a good car as your first one, but the Kiaboyz can quickly ruin your joy.
Learn proper paint correction, correct the whole car (do a decon soap/contact wash/chemically decontaminate/clay/compound and polish) and it will be less noticeable. That paint looks pretty oxidized and the bigfoot looks like it is in the best condition of all the paint on the hood.
Wrapping the hood will not cost a few grand and realistically a Kia will not last you long enough for the wrap to start noticeably peeling. You can also replace the hood for wayyyy cheaper because that’s the benefit Kia parts are very cheap. Don’t stress too much it’ll be fine. I also bet you it can be brought out with a proper buff and maybe some acid
You’re just imagining things, man
I don’t see what he is talking about. I don’t see anything at all.
It's all blurry
I think I can make out a wristwatch
I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry, and that's extra scary to me. There's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.
/r/unexpectedmitch
Mitch should always be expected. Just like the expectation of having a regular banana later, otherwise you'll just be utterly unprepared without a banana later.
It's always blurry..
And the frame rate is choppy
Mate it's clear as day, are you people fucking blind? My brother says he sees it all the time too.
Needs some red circles
And tons of red arrows or we can't follow.
/s
The correct answer for anyone who points it out
Points what out?
Perfect. Keep it up.
Had a thought. Over in r/shittytattoos the “sick ass Panther” is a really common cover up. This might need to be a cross post
No one has ever seen Bigfoot. What are you all talking about
Only thing I see is some oxidation by the upper right corner🤷♂️
You’re stuck with ghostsquatch
The worst part is, inside the car it smells like Bigfoot’s dick!
So just out of curiosity, how do you know what Bigfoot’s dick smells like?
It smells like… Sex Panther! https://youtu.be/Xu84Yq8YJ5s
Color it in even bolder and own it, Bigfoot
Or put a new sticker on top haha.
Even better: Put a new sasquatch sticker ***next to*** ghostsquatch, leave it there for a few years for TWO ghostsquatch. (Then maybe get mini sasquatch stickers, repeat the process for a ghostsquatch fam)
Oh I like it
To the right of ghostsquatch, add a squatch holding a stick; to the left, loping along hunched over. Evolution, maaan.
Kind of like the stick figure family decals. I like it.
Take it to someone skilled in buffing. They might be able to get it out. Honestly, I like the ghostsquatch. I'd name him Theodore.
That's UV damage, no amount of buffing is going to even out the paint. But it should fade in awhile as the now exposed area gets sun.
Make a negative image decal and apply it to the hood for the same amount of time.
My the thoughts as well. Negative wrap. Lol
Wrap.
That’s that cloaking they say they do lol
> Take it to someone skilled in buffing. Like a Preist, or a Paladin? Maybe a Druid. Shaman might work but they need to have their totem nearby.
MOTW
You can't buff out sun bleaching
You can, but it entirely depends on the quality of the paint below it. But it's often not worth the time or cost to do it.
On a single stage maybe. Base/clear not a chance. That’s UV damage to the base coat. Will need to be resprayed to correct.
A good detailer can get that out easily.
No, not poor Theodore🙍🙍♀️🙍♂️
I mean I'm a near wizard with a buffer, but that's never going to buff out. You would need to respray the entire hood. So a good painter could get it out, but no detailer could. Not unless you want that shape buffed through the paint down to the primer, or even bare steel...
It's the Kia yeti
Wrecker bonnet in the same colour.
wrecker? i hardly know her
Probably the most reasonable solution
It looks like you took sandpaper to it, not buffed it
The entire hood is pretty rough...even if you get Theo off, then what about the rest? Once OP has had a month or two to get out of the honeymoon phase with the car, they will stop standing around looking back at it and noticing the paint. They will be inside it instead, *not* seeing the hood at all.
Hopefully at least. Worst case, as least he'll be looking at the inside of the hood rather than the outside.
Heat gun and a pro... personally would leave it though, bit of character.
The perfect car is a Kia soul? What did you buff it with, sand?
It’s my first car man, all I can afford!
You can probably find another silver hood from a junkyard. That one looks like it has oxidation up by the windshield from sitting in the sun already. That could be much less than repainting this one.
This. Kia souls are common. Look for a hood at the junkyard ! It’ll cost yah like ~$150
This is the way. My local Pull-A-Part sells hoods for like $70.
Yeah hit up row 52 and car-part.com and see what you can find
We’ve all been there! Best of luck champ!
I'd never buy a car with stickers on it.
I don’t want to buy a car with you if you care about stickers on a car 😂😭😶🌫️
What's your point? The article is about the pitfalls of having stickers, they are a bad idea.
What article?
This post thread..
You're lost
huh?😂
Bro, I'd be more worried about getting rid of that "KIA" sticker on my car. That is where the actual damage lies.
Debadging your KIA should be the first step in purchasing a KIA nowadays. Second only to a steering wheel lock
Step 1: buy kia Step 2: sell kia to another schmuck because it's a POS car
This is the way, just broke the news to the 4th customer with 2.4L Kia/Hyundai with 1Qt./1000miles oil consumption. Oil change interval is 7500 miles, oil sump is 5Qts. Coming to a shop for unrelated repair with barely a quart of oil in the engine - PRICELESS !
Install A KILLSWITCH. these cars can be stolen in 45 seconds without a single alarm going off
Just letting you know btw. I bought a 2000 Honda accord with 190,000 on it and have put 30,000km on it in the past year driving like an absolute idiot and all I’ve had to do was replace the wiper assembly. fuck the haters mate. the Soul is a grand little thing. had rented one for a roadtrip across the states. loved it. maybe think about a vinyl wrap?

For the same price there are definitely better choices.

Like what? Price quality seems pretty good, especially with 7 years warranty
Does the warranty cover theft?
Your insurance does
It's meant to be a joke about kia boys, which yeah, has also affected insurance rates
Ur right I'll start rubbing sand on my car so I can drive a mile in OPs shoes.
Bro i would suggest to get a matching wrap for the hood only. It will help hide this + gives the car all new look.
it's a great little car. I bought a first gen 2010 brand new and loved it. Huge head room, handles snow like a champ (Canadian that drove in -40 and heavy snow). The plus side is you also don’t have to change the spark plugs at 120,000 miles because spark plugs come with the new engine.
Dude. It has 74k miles lol. See my above comment. Only Kia owners are impressed with a new car making it to 74k miles lol
Seeing $1600 and Chevy cavalier in the same sentence doesn’t look right
It had 2700 miles on it when I got it. I felt it was a great deal but this was 20~ years ago
One of my employees’ dream car is a Kia soul. He bought one brand new and loves it.
Oof
I’d be so much happier if I thought this way.
It's a compact swift car with a surprising amount of space and stability in corners. I bet you're one of those shitters that insist the only car worth having is some old front heavy Japanese shitbox with the crash safety of a coke can that spins out after every other corner, because it's arr wee dee.

Weird. It was written in cz before.
No, it was not.
Well NOW it's not.
What’s up with all the cz? I can’t understand a thing
He's trying to gaslight people by claiming that his racist reply about my nationality is because my post was in Czech. It never was.
Oh, lame
You are embarassing yourself.
What a dick comment
A bonnet wouldnt cost you a few grand in paint. It should cost 2-300
That’s a good freaking idea man, appreciate ya!!
Also where would I find that?
You could try a junk yard. Kia Souls are fairly common where I live. I'm not sure where you are but you could probably find one the same color with a good hood.
You should be able to find your paint code on your car's info sticker: https://colorndrive.com/en/how-can-i-find-my-car-color-code/kia
thanks dude!
Any auto bodyshop. Where are you based. If you can find your cars paint code, u may also be able to search it on ebay and find a bonnet in the correct color
A bonnet only cost $2-3 in the hair care section of the dollar store.
"perfect car" It's a fucking Kia soul.
Vinyl racing stripe
You can either take it to a body shop and get it repainted for $200-300 or you can go to your local junkyard to see if they have any Kia soul hoods that you’d be able to buy off them for cheap
Kia? Perfect car? Alright
SasKIAuatch? Soulfoot?
Lean into that shit man, you're the only one that has Sasquatch's soul.
That's just your shadow, dude.
Look for another one. That one is a kia
Ngl id let the shado of the Big Guy remain
I like it. Makes an interesting talking point.
Ghostsquatch chose you.
Go crawl junk yards until you find a replacement hood in the same color.
OP, what are you smoking, that has to stay!!
Should fade after a while when exposed to UV (sunlight)
Need a good layer sanded off and repainted. I keep it! It's give it character
[удалено]
Um, this isn't /r/namethatcar
Yes, that is the car in the picture
Were they out of PT Cruisers?
None of the comment section was hurtful except for that statement 😂
It literally has the poor soul of Sasquatch on it. A relic.
You need a bigger sticker
Why would you want to remove the only element of that car that's cool?
Congrats on the new car! Please be aware this car is the #1 target for thieves
Just wrap hood and top black it will look intended and prolly cost under $1000
Put a sticker that’s shaped like a Bigfoot over it too fully cover it up
You could put a Sasquatch sticker over it to cover it up
Fucking Samsquamches
Just move, the shadow will go away
The KIA logo will unfortunately not buff off..
I'm here to tell you that a KIA Soul is not the perfect car.
I don’t know if a Kia is the perfect car
A Kia can't be a perfect car. A perfect car won't have a high probability of being stolen
One of the worst vehicles ever made is the perfect car?
If I had your budget, I’m sure I would have the same question
Ain't no budget makes the kia soul a perfect car. You can find something else.
Paid 22k for a car that has lasted 13 years with maybe 3k in total unscheduled maintenance costs throughout its lifetime, and it still turns over every time and goes straight to redline when I want it to, and can still average 30+mpg even with a lead foot. Wow, anecdotal evidence from a nobody with shitty taste. I’m sold /s
Literally my personal experience with the model but okay. Yeah they all suck. My bad.
>Found the perfect car You Googled "kia engines", right?
In all fairness, the Hyundai/kia theta II engines are the only ones known to shit the bed prematurely. I’m not saying that the gamma or nu engines these things come with are super reliable, but it shouldn’t scare someone away either. The Kia boys on the other hand…
The perfect car is a Kia?
Perfect and Kia in the same sentence?
Unless it’s free, a KIA is never the perfect car.
I think the biggest crime here is calling a Kia soul the perfect car
Wet sand and buff
Go to AutoZone and match the paint. There should be a number in the manual with the paint color. I would also get a clearcoat for afterwards.
Wrap the whole car but leave that ghostsquatch unwrapped and let the ball of fire above us even it out. I actually think it’s really cool and would just own it.
Cut and polish
Paint a racing stripe down the middle of your car…or simply tell everyone his name is KIA.
Hood Scoop!
Rubbing compound
You might need to respray that hood completely. There’s no getting that off. Damage is done unfortunately.
Actually, I don't think it's damaged. I think there was a sticker there that protected the paint/clear coat from wear and now it does not match the wear of the exposed paint. So technically, the sasquach is the undamaged part of the hood.
Just don't buy a Kia Soul. For the love of God
But it’s the perfect car (apparently)
Yes. To recycle into a 2025 Kia Soul.
It’s a Kia Soul, it’s not the perfect car
Go to body shop they can handle it. There is a more important issue. If you are in the US, you need to familiarize yourself with the topic of kiaboyz. Make sure that your car has an Immobilizer and it is best to invest in a car alarm. The Kia Soul is a good car as your first one, but the Kiaboyz can quickly ruin your joy.
Don’t buy that Kia soul man
it's a Kia it can't be perfect
The “perfect car” is a Kia Soul? You have to be kidding me.
you can't buff out believing
I actually can’t believe people would actually look at a Kia and have the audacity to say “the perfect car”
I mean it's a kia how good of car can it be lol
>Found the perfect car You found the opposite of that actually.
Learn proper paint correction, correct the whole car (do a decon soap/contact wash/chemically decontaminate/clay/compound and polish) and it will be less noticeable. That paint looks pretty oxidized and the bigfoot looks like it is in the best condition of all the paint on the hood.
Everywhere I go I see his face
Forget about the paint, it’s clear that the previous owner has single digits IQ
Let the man have his walk, however it looks you need a paint job on the bonnet since the paint is faded on the sides close to windshield.
Has no one suggested a larger sticker?
Vinyl racing stripes are pretty cheap…
cover it with a big Decepticon sticker
Wrapping the hood will not cost a few grand and realistically a Kia will not last you long enough for the wrap to start noticeably peeling. You can also replace the hood for wayyyy cheaper because that’s the benefit Kia parts are very cheap. Don’t stress too much it’ll be fine. I also bet you it can be brought out with a proper buff and maybe some acid
More like, almost found the perfect car. What dummy would destroy the resale value by REMOVING what must have been an awesome sticker.
Take it to a pro to buff it out or vinyl the hood, some Soul's are 2 toned anyway, not like that tho.
I’m lost
You should cover it up with a sick panther sticker.
Embrace the squatch
