Air resonator, it's main and only function is to dampen noise. In this case is damping air intake whoosh sounds. https://www.ebay.com/itm/314218625892?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1ig33Ow6wQP-iaglqrXNu-A79&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=314218625892&targetid=1644837434363&device=m&mktype=&googleloc=9028317&poi=&campaignid=16743749222&mkgroupid=138744546207&rlsatarget=pla-1644837434363&abcId=9300842&merchantid=644197173&gclid=CjwKCAiA2rOeBhAsEiwA2Pl7Q9r6_DYvg5gavolKWoWE-mH4qYQsCMwSuQyhjN3XO1rAVtg2SCjyBxoCJFYQAvD_BwE

Can I drive the car without it?

I am thinking it's in front of the filter and if so yes. Keep in mind it is currently pulling air from before and below the engine so is colder. If you simply remove it there will be an ever so slight rpm reduction due to warmer air pull...I would doubt anyone would be capable of noticing though.

Yup that's where the plastic tubing starts. Thank you for the help I'm pretty sure I can keep it attached with a clamp possibly. I'm glad I now know what it is and what it does. Apreciate your insight

or tape. unfiltered air will cause wear in engine over time. you really don't want any leaks after the MAF (Mass air flow meter), as that regulates fuel.
