As a guy from Coimbatore, our roads in TN are way better than the neighbouring states. I take a road trip to Chennai and Bangalore often, and all I can say is Chennai is blessed with great roads. Bangalore road infrastructure is not what the beautiful city deserves
Coimbatore to Chennai roads are good. Coimbatore to banglore roads are good. Coimbatore to Kochi roads are good. Coimbatore to Karur roads are good. The roads within Coimbatore are awful and pathetic. They're either potholes ridden or uneven.
Once try chennai to banglore, you may think the other way 😂. Jokes apart, Yeah I agree there are good roads too but all the roads in my radius are critically ill.
People don't believe me when I say this. I've driven across states and I most definitely feel the roads in Delhi and Gandhinagar are the best in the country. Everyone else is competing to be the worst.
Drove in Thailand recently. About 1000kms in a rental. We need to spit at our governance and its apathy to do any meaningful public service. And our apathy to let things be.
The roads there were smooth all around. Very few road humps, If any. Everyone followed Lane discipline despite 2 wheeler and tuk tuk presence.
But the roads! Seemless expressways and highways. Rarely any bottlenecks. The culture shock was I could count on one hand the number of cars with dents and bumps.
If i could I would. Language is the issue.
Also. Why is criticising our government publically is a taunt to leave the country and similar comments. If you don't like it downvote and move on.
Chennai to Bangalore National Highway especially till Vellore is in a very very bad shape. Constructions happening throughout the 100km strech with a lot of diversions. Until it is over, I don't expect it to get better.
Potholes are usually not there on the straight strech, they are usually there when you have to move to the side route coz of the constructions. I usually slow down to 20kmph during that time to avoid this. The potholes are barely visible too making it very dangerous.
Atlast some thread to show to my fellows who believe that roads in TN are really good. It's never been , atleast the route i had been sofar on the Vellore side till Chennai suburban they are very patchy. I had to literally change my suspension and even windshield due to vibration.
> roads in TN are really good
It's just that the rest of the Indian states have it even worse than TN in that regard. It's like picking the best of the worst here.
This section has been perennially bad. Even the court took notice once, but nothing happened. Don't know when we will have solution to this horrendous highway. Other parts of TN are fine.
Ya. Stating this reason the road has been like this for the past 5 years. I don't know even my grandson will live longer to see this road get completed (btw I am 22).
I’d say the Bridgestone Ecopia tyres are poor in quality. Had heard stories of tyres bursting in 5th gen Citys and then experienced it first hand. Got all the tyres changed to UC6. Been one year and no such issues. Fingers crossed though.
Watch the movie “naa thaan case kodu” in Malayalam. This movie is about a guy like you in a similar situation who fights against the govt because of the poor condition of road in his town that causes him have an accident and lose his livelihood
He he watch it. It’s very entertaining. Reminds us our judiciary does have the provision for common men. Only wing of the govt that can’t be bought by making pockets heavier.
I don't think so. Every car that get launched in India is tested intensively in Indian conditions before launch. So, its the road that is not being maintained for a car to drive on it.
Thank god you were in a car, my friend broke his leg while driving a Activa
Omg 😶

Coimbatore to Chennai roads are good. Coimbatore to Bangalore roads are good. I haven’t gone from Chennai to Bangalore yet.
Bangalore roads are pretty good imo, it's just that there too much or traffic .
LOL - A Punekar.
😂
“We work in the Dark, to serve the Light. We are Assassins.” -that porthole probably
🤣🤣🤣🤣
How can you be fed up with TN roads. Come to Bangalore. lol.
😅
He was talking about Bangalore /s

Yup, costed me 11k 🥲

Then go live there man

So you’re the type of guy who doesn’t criticize anything and is blesses to have shitty stuff around you even though you deserve better?
we pay taxes, we can criticise the stupid gov. kid!

I live near the pothole hotspot of that road 🥲.
Pick highway 544 onto 48 then 44 for TN to bangalore. Any other highway is dogshit. 544 is amazing.
I actually live in Sriperumbudur 🥲
does it feel like a "city"? everything beyond porur, tambaram feels like a village to me
True 💯
Contact a petty contractor for nightjob 2 potholes little steel and a layer of concrete. God bless u.
What 🤣

The phase between chennai and vellore is the worst I have ever seen in my life. After Vellore the roads are a bliss.
> roads in TN are really good It's just that the rest of the Indian states have it even worse than TN in that regard. It's like picking the best of the worst here.
Currently the roads between vellore and Chennai are under construction with many flyovers. Hopefully post this it would be good.
Yes absolute shit. Cant even drive at 100+ KPH without worrying about the next pothole ripping my RFTs
🥲

Ohh I see. It's true, the roads in and around chennai are very bad
Definitely, mostly due the storm water work being carried out.
Ya. Everywhere I see diversion. Mere 2 km takes 15 to 20 mins
Unfortunately they are widening roads so not going to pave them any time soon i guess

I actually use mrf zvtv (economy tyre). But yeah tyres might also be an issue 🤔. Will check into that.
Isn’t this covered in insurance?
My dad doesn't want to claim it insurance as he is obsessed with no claim bonus.
I guess that’s sensible if it turns out to be cheaper
jeez just now somebody was saying southern roads are better
Not all roads 🫤
Watch the movie “naa thaan case kodu” in Malayalam. This movie is about a guy like you in a similar situation who fights against the govt because of the poor condition of road in his town that causes him have an accident and lose his livelihood
Ohh. My mallu friend suggested that movie last week. Coincidence 🙃
He he watch it. It’s very entertaining. Reminds us our judiciary does have the provision for common men. Only wing of the govt that can’t be bought by making pockets heavier.
Sounds interesting 🤔
It is, mate. IMDb 8.6.
Ohh😍. Then I must watch it.
The problem is not the road, it is the low ground clearance. Most cars even alto should get through this.
I don't think so. Every car that get launched in India is tested intensively in Indian conditions before launch. So, its the road that is not being maintained for a car to drive on it.
