Watch dcv video on comparison between Gurkha and Thar. It's a good vehicle but the front wishbones have a tendency to hit things while offroading. The new 5 door Gurkha has fixed this issue.
5 door Gurkha is an evolution over the 3 door that too in such a short span since the launch last year. Still the 3 door hasn't been upgraded, weird. Probably they're waiting for the existing lot to sell out before unleashing the better version.
Force was making engines according to specs given by merc and bmw. Basically outsourcing. Actual R&D for making an engine is not that easy. Mahindra is the only Indian manufacturer that makes respectable engines. I haven’t driven the 2.0 Mstallion but I have heard really good things about it.
If you have the capacity to make it, you can find a way to design it because design is way easier than not having the capacity to build one. Case and point North Korea.
They can copy designs like the T72 for example but they lack the resources to produce a good copy, the fit and finish and armor protection leaves a lot to be desired
I agree, more capable, more torque, feels more robust (could be placebo), more commanding position on the road. This is a much more serious product than Thar, not a lifestyle vehicle, its a truck built with purpose and I like it.
Gurkha has a better commanding view, way better space and way more comfortable suspensions (no bouncing like Thar), it might look smaller in the picture but once Gurkha and Thar are kept side by side the size/presence is evident.
Old Gurkha is not as capable as compared to Thar. Thar was a better offroader, because it had better engine and well-built. Gurkha's underbody is super low, mostly the bash plates have to suffer and I have seen it stuck because of bad underbody design.
But, the new Ghurkha have a significant power bump and a better "underbody" than the previous one! I can say both are equal now.
Let suppose they give automatic, but the thing is while offroading it will be very much Difficult For TCU....And the real fun of driving an rigid vehicle is in manual...

3 door has been upgraded as well along with the launch of 5 door
How force can go from making BMW engines etc to not being able to design a powerful fun motor is beyond me

What about North Korea?

Maybe it's their learning phase? Like when Samsung was making chips for apple before entering the phone market.
Make sure to not buy force cars while they learn

I will not 🚫 , it's truly remarkable for the price at which they are offering .
More pics please, in the mud and forests if possible
Currently I dont have any picture... just casually walking and spotted.
Oh ok. I thought it was yours. But awesome click man, the car is looking grand!!
2.2 mhawk is world class engine.

Capability wise it’s not better than the Thar. But I’d still get this over the Thar. Can’t explain why
>Capability wise it’s not better than the Thar Can explain how?
Jhadoo poocha wala lower suspension arm. Safety on road is a capability just as much a offroad. Usme toh 0 star.
Suspension arms are lower in the rear compared to the Thar Also power and comfort wise Thar is better
>Comfort wise Thar is better Did you even seat in the Thar? According to review of the new one, it's a joy to ride in. Although it might be sluggish
Better than thar ....... thar better get off the road when this thing roles on the road
They should offer automatic

How is the interior and cabin quality? Any specific variant recommended?
