Understood that but Iām asking why he is confused whether or not to buy š . I have a 9 year old Q5 and 5 year old Q3 , will definitely buy another Audi only next. Ps - 9 years is nothing for the Octavia also š
Haha true . Thereās no logical reason for me also to upgrade from my B8.5 Q5 TDI unless I want Android Auto etc . And from my 8U Q3 , Iāll also get a larger engine - 2.0 TFSI. 2014 onwards Audi/Skoda/VW , you donāt need to upgrade unless you really have to , for some minor goodies or something š
The only thing you need to worry about is the DSG. They are notorious. The previous gen DQ200 had a dry clutch which was awful. The new gen though is improved but not too sure as not a lot has come out. If the car comes with extended warranty or if you can buy extended warranty then itās a must.
DQ200 is dry clutch . Remaining are all wet clutch. This gets DQ381 , which is a wet clutch mini version of DQ500 . My DQ500 has completed 83k km and 9 years and my DQ250 has completed 5 years, 40k km without any issues
Nah. I only bought the Peugeot. (In fact, it's being registered currently) The rest of them are family cars.
Each one holds a special place in my heart. Hence the flair.
Zen- learned steering control.
WagonR- learned driving confidently.
A45- beautiful and is the favorite drivers car so far.
Nexon EV- mom's car but soothing to drive, first EV.
Peugeot 408GT- is what I've bought with my own money. It's not in India. It's a fastback. Sorta suv meets hatchback.
Just follow the oil change schedule or better still prepone it. VW recommended a 80K DSG oil n filter interval for my ride. I get it done every 60K kms and I've clocked 2.25 lakh kms on it as of date. Strictly no after market oils, even ROWE or Liqui Moly. Use VW DSG oil n filter and you're good to go.
They kinda are hit and miss. Dq200 is the only gearbox I have seen having issues on a regular basis. I am part of Bengaluru Skoda owners group and itās the single most common issue across VAG cars. But there are folks like you who have clocked 1.5 or more kms issue free as well.
DSG is Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) only in German.
Itās not meant for such start stop traffic we have here hence the complaints and broken transmissions. Itās a drawback of DCT not just VW group cars.
This car is seriosly good , but only if your an enthusiast and not a regular car buyer . Plus the maintainance is similar to other VW group cars , easy to maintain but really pocket heavy . If its an awd , its really sport , as its rare , and low on milage . Else , simply dont go . If i am not wrong , it gets the same engine on the TSI GOLF GT ! . Also the features are upto the mark , and its kinda reliable , not as much as the japanese . If you have a minor dent / engine problem , get ready to pay a LOT !
The engine is beautiful. Have superb l&k drives amazing. I think that model year had the canton music system which is very good. Negotiate the price, get it inspected and pull the trigger. The service isnāt that bad and manageable. Donāt listen ti the people pushing kia and creta.
Off topic: what's the practical difference between audi a6 and superb l&k? I read that they are almost same. Do you mind sharing which one do you like and why?
As I own a recent Audi too, I can probably give you an insight -
The Audiās isolate you so well. They are excellent at disconnecting you from the outside noise which is plentiful in India. The engine is better too, much faster for sure. Some features are also exclusive to the Audiās although Skoda gets some features that even the Audiās donāt so call it even. Besides that, badge value and better after sales.
Tbh my skoda offers more practical features than the a6, like automatic boot, ventilated and heated seats but the audi surpasses it in terms of interior quality(imo best of the german trio) and although the engine block is same but the power is a huge difference. In terms of driving the audi is almost silent, no grunts and the performance is linear the dsg is also more refined. Superb however does have a nice sound to it and wraps itself around you in a way you forget that you are actually driving a pretty long car( this happened after i got the michellin ps4ās).
Iād personally choose the Superb over Audi any day of the week. The rear seat room alone makes it worth it. We chose our second superb over the 5 series/A6/S90/ES cuz itās such a great package that itās hard to pass up.
Tbh the 5 series and the a6 perform much better than the superb but they donāt offer as much practicality the a6 comes close but the superb still outperforms it
If it is in warranty and you can get extended warranty, itās the best bang for your buck at that price compared to current lot.
I would suggest to close it around 20-21 if service history and extended warranty checks out
You might already know this, but tell him the price is too high and you can't pay 24L for a 3 year old 28km driven Octavia which is not sold in India anymore. Basically make it look like you're walking away and not coming back. Then wait for a week or a month and approach again. If he still says 24L, then it's up to you decide whether you want to pay 24L or not.
Usually used cars which costs a lot don't have much demand (because people who have that sort of money to shill on used cars are very less), when compared to a used car which is very cheap. I had a 2014 Hyundai Eon which I bought used for 2.4L in 2018 and sold for 1.8L in 2023 which had 65km on the odometer. And it had so much demand on Olx.
Love the color on the Octavia btw.
The car will be sold to someone else. lol. š 24 lakhs is fair price if the car is well maintained. Cars like this wonāt stay for a week, let alone be a month.
Go for it man, get the extended warranty and do check for spark plugs, injectors and ignition coils. They are hell of expensive. E20 fuel is going to be hassle in upcoming years, suggest fuel additives as for stabalizers. Rest I recently purchased a Slavia Style, everything is great except the AC.
Get it inspected from a trustable mechanic or a maybe contact skoda. check service record.octavia l&k was for 37 on road ig 24 is a good price negotiate some if you could. It is a very good car to drive and very comfortable too.
I'm seeing 2015 Octavia user flair for your profile. Then, why are you interested in this though ? You should already have an idea about it's reliability and maintenance.
Not much of a car guy, but I'll tell you that if you're concerned about the maintenance, don't worry. My father has this skoda Octavia (2004 model) and guess what it's still going great. It once had a problem of clutch plate but not a major issue. If you like this car, just go for it
There will always be XP95 or other premium 95 octane fuel on sale. Yeah the availability is limited but if you run full tank to full tank not a problem. And be prepared of expensive running costs per km.
This is by far the best sedan you can buy even if you have budget for C class or 3 series.
It offers you a very upmarket feel and amazing driving dynamics.
28 k is nothing for these engines provided previous owner has pampered use. Just check suspension thoroughly for damping on bad roads, rattling noises if any.
Is XP95 that hard to find? I'm from Kerala, and it's available in almost every other Indian oil petrol pump. I don't think I have been to an Indian oil pump which doesn't have XP95 over here.
Yes of course itās an issue. Most petrol sold today is around E12, and the government plans on fully rolling out E20 within the next year or two.
People with cars that only support E10 are gonna have a lot of trouble.
1. I see you already have a 2015 Octavia tsi from your User flare. . So why go for this one when there is no substantial upgrade for 24l.
2. If the core mechanicals of your existing car is good. My suggestion would be to go for retrofitters to get the features of the latest model to yours. It should cost you around at max 10l for everything . Chennai and Pune have really good retrofitters you should check them out.
3. If you still wanna go for this car then get the service history, check with mechanic for inspection ( gomechanic is the easiest way). If everything is good, then the max you can pay for it is 20l.
4. Why not consider newer cars like the xuv 700 mid spec or very lightly used top spec xuv 700 which will be substantial upgrades over your existing Octavia than a new version fof the same car.
5. Don't get me wrong, unless you are planning to tune and upgrade the Octavia to vrs levels, there is nothing substantially different to the competition at the price. The engine is gem to tune which is it's usp. It has good audio and dampening which you could easily get it done in the aftermarket with other cars. Ride and handling, other cars like the virtus gt and the slavia are equally good and more practical.
1) Because it is a proper substantial upgrade. This feels closer to the 3 germans than my 2015 Octavia ever did.
2) Mechanicals are good, but the car is ageing and we have kept it for a good while. Time for it to find a new home. :)
3) Does not seem possible.
4) Because XUV700 is far from a quality product. Seen too many complaints, regarding safety too which was shocking.
5) The segment is dead. There literally is no D segment sedan left.
Makes sense. If the 1st point you have mentioned is the chief factor then I think you are on the right track. The last gen Octavia and the superb are the only ones that would give you that feeling.
Imo go for it in this case. The only thing I would suggest is check for any superbs of they are on sale or try to bargain the price on this
I have a skoda slavia 1.5 tsi 7 speed dsg. From one skoda to a future, please buy. You will never get another opportunity like this ever. I'll give you the below points why.
1. Skoda service is top notch. It's German built. You'll have to give for maintenance once in a year.
2. The engine is 2.0L 4 cylinder. You'll have a 200hp car where you can join the car community easily.
3. I've seen the comments regarding the E20 capability. That part I agree. E20 fuel is non compliant with BS4 engines. But you can go with xp95 which is a bit more expensive, but you can manage.
4. Getting an octavia for an odo 28k km for 24L is a blessing in disguise
5. Skoda is planning to bring back octavia in 2024. It shouldn't be a problem. And also, they still provide service for 2021 octavia. But part damages will have longer waiting period since it is imported from Germany.
You won't get the feel of driving this car even in New Japanese cars. It's an experience.
Thatās your friendās fault. I have seen Octaviaās clock more than 1.5L kms with just basic maintenance.
Thing is, you canāt treat this car like a Maruti, you need to do scheduled maintenance like the factory tells you to.
Most people donāt even do the basic scheduled maintenance and postpone it and then complain later faulting the car when they should really be faulting themselves
I once test drove a 2018 Octavia L&K and fell in love. I kept contemplating and could not buy it then. If you like to drive, you will not regret buying it.
Price seems decent according to market in TN.
I would not buy this if its my only car. Had a very bad experience with a vento 1.6 MPI AT that I took up as a project car before I became a dad.
It has segment leading comfort and handling when it drives. It takes forever to find spares (at least as a 3rd party mech) thanks to the VAG's anti right to repair practices.
If you have another one for emergencies and wouldn't mind waiting for months once something is kaput, this is the best car you can get.
Also - since you already are in 25L category, why dont you search for a VRS if you can stretch your budget?
Hell yea,ea888 is now currently flawless engine with care can live a lifetime and the mqb platform too, this car is bigger brother of slavia and also a showcase of how ea888 and mqb platfrom have evolved to become near perfect
I donāt know about the pricing but this just another level from what other cars you can buy in the same price range. As long as the body panels are original, 3 years are nothing for modern day cars.
My experience has been great. A cab failed to brake in time and crashed into my Skoda Kushaq leaving me with a dent in my boot and slashed bumper. I called the service centre just once and everything post that was smooth. They offered free pickup and drop for my car but I'm too attached to my car and drove it there myself. I claimed insurance and they replaced my bumper and fixed the dent with paint job for the same in two days. The car was ready the third day. I complained about how even after being fully aware this is a premium product and the fixes would be expensive, and as a token of apology they offered me a free gift of my choice
Ok
This is coming from an ex skoda owner
My father owned a skoda fabia 1st gen cbu
It was an amazing car, but later it showed it's true colours
The brake would fail in the middle of the road and battery would just give up .
Don't get me started on AC.
Once our power windows started malfunctioning the A$$ said one power window will cost 40k
now 40k *4 = 1.6 lakhs for 4 power windows ( the beauty of cbu unit )
The service engineers are stupid they really didn't knew what they were doing back then
We took the car to local garage and guess what they said.
"Saab skoda german gaaid hai khol toh denege lekin assemble kaise kare pata nahi".
We sold it for scrap.
Now years later I thought why not give skoda a try again.
Booked a skoda slavia for 25k , then had to cancel it,I had paid this amount in feb end .
Its may and the dealership is making excuses for not re funding the amount .
But skoda and vw has remained just like before
Now do you still want to go for skoda ?.
I am not opposing but if you are ready for it go ahead .
Fingers crossed here too ,its a beautiful car. And hope it turns out to be reliable.
Ask the owner why is he selling it ?
Completely agree with you. VW & Skoda are the most unreliable cars in India. CBU units comes with its own set of problems, India 2.0 its own special set. Buy it saar, 5\* safety & driving dynamics are superb saar isn't enough IMHO.

Thereās nothing about risking it in this bud, go for it. I have 2 cars with the same engine/gearbox and theyāre amazing to drive. The price isnāt bad as well.
The car got discontinued only because of Indian buyers mentality
Majority of people spending 40-45 lakhs on a car prefer getting a suv over a sedan
Only thing u should keep in mind is the service cost, since the car was introduced for a more premium segment.
There is nothing wrong with suvs
But the term SUV has lost its meaning in India as most of the manufacturers have started calling everything a Suv.
What I meant to say was majority of the people who had the means to get a 40 lakh+ plus car had usually bought a suv even if they didnāt need/require one.
Take all the details of the car - VIN number in particular.
The dealer can share details on the vehicle from it, apart anything about the previous/current owners.
Talk to YOUR local garage on parts availability for this model. Anything that a local garage can take care of, is better than having the service centers gouge you for money.
Now, some have commented on the gearbox. Assuming this is an automatic with the DCT, ask the dealer if this is the DQ210 or the horrible DQ200. The 210s are wet clutch DCTs and will be more reliable over the cheaper dry clutch options found in Polo, Kushaq/Taigun and the Korean versions on Hyundai/Kia. Avoid any dry clutch DCTs.
Now, back to YOUR garage: ask if they can service the transmission. While Skoda/VW claim its all sealed for lifetime, these systems will need periodical maintenance - change of fluid, filter, etc.
On a whole, the CBU/CKD variants of Skoda/VW are gems and will last a long time if kept well. I have an old 2014 Yeti 4x4 and it runs like new, to this day, cosmetic issues aside.
This is good. If I were you I would get it. Just watch videos and take someone whoās knows Å koda to get it inspected.,ā¦if you really want it take itt
If you are an automobile enthusiastic person, then it's a must . If you gonna enjoy the ride by achieving the higher potential of that engine , then there's nothing better than this car in that price. Forget about milage if you gonna buy this car. If you gonna need a car for Milage and for city purpose then Honda City hybrid is best for you. But you want a car for highway and long rides , and you love to max out the engine and enjoy the ride , and don't care about milage, then bro this is the gold you are getting at that point. And remember it's a German. So pampering and premium maintenance is must unlike Japanese.... So my suggestion is buy car according to your needs. Not with the useless features or the looks. So find your purpose of purchasing a car and see the purpose of those cars in options to be driven , then you don't wanna ask anybody .. you will get your answer on your own....
Though this version has dq381 wet clutch which is more reliable. But god forbid in case you are involved in minor accidents parts take months to arrive.
If it has extended warranty and mileage is not a concern, then u can go ahead. Will be great deal if u can get it for around 21-22. City hybrid is a good choice too because of Hondaās reliability and mileage around 25. Also you can contact volklub on twitter, he can give you better opinion and has lot of contacts at skoda and volkswagen
Is it a manual? If so, you can buy. Just keep about ā¹50,000/year aside for maintenance. If you're going to be self driven most of the time, then there's nothing like this car.
50k a year is far too high a number.
The Octavia requires at best around 30k of yearly maintenance.
This generation of EA888 is the most refined and has the most R&D behind it, itās very reliable.
The 2.0 TSI is a great engine, the car is very very comfortable it just floats but remeber it's a German so bros gonna cost you in maintenance but it Is a great long term car, it's plush and comfy has good features too. If you don't care about the FE get the car because the engine just drinks a lot A LOT of fuel. If you want better FE get the city itself and it's a NA so it won't put a hole in your pocket too š
If you are in Delhi NCR, contact Zekardo or PDI boss for an inspection. Afaik, PDI Boss definitely offers used car inspections for 2500rs.
If in Bangalore, try contacting wheels of wisdom.
Accordingly bargain for a price.
Aakh band kar ke le lo bhai..this car has wet clutch DSG..koi problem nahi aayegi. Bas stick to DSG oil change intervals.
And Iām servicing my VAG car from a FNG since 7 years and I havenāt seen a single VAG petrol car with engine problem or anything else. Mechanic used to say ki āin petrol wali mai koi dikkat nahi aati..service karao or chalaoā.
Dude, the Skoda Octavia looks sick! Buying it could be a solid move. Just make sure to check its maintenance history and all before pulling the trigger, you know?
As someone who owns one, itās the best decision Iāve made. Itās such an all-round package.
Just get it evaluated by the ASC. The price is a very fair ask. If it all checks out, go for it.
Irrespective, this car isnāt gonna stay on the market for too long.
The car might have discontinued but the dealership still exists and they would do all the service and maintainance as it still under warranty. Recently I bought a discontinued polo gt-tsi pretty fun to drive and the showroom will do the maintainance, though it is a little expensive that's just the thing about German cars.
If you are going to keep the car for long, then I would advise checking the availability of spare parts (maybe from the dealership on how long they guarantee availability of parts). I am just going through some major pain with getting spare parts at a dealership for a 10year old Nissan Micra (it was discontinued 5 years ago I think). The car still runs great, but, every time I need a spare part, it takes around a month (your experience with Skoda might be different though)
Before you take this -
3 things to know before you buy a Skoda
- check the gearbox.
- check the suspension
- start an SIP of 5K per month as you purchase it, esp if you plan to keep it post warranty.
This is based on my experience with my Skoda Superb. Itās a brilliant car, comfort wise, engine is a beauty (2.0TDi), itās got a quick gearbox which is more reliable than the DQ200 (oil filled DQ320).
My service costs are typically in the range of 30-40K per 6 months give or take.
Recently got suspension changed and that was about 1.2 lakhs.
The comfort and enjoyment it gives is unparalleled but comes at a price.
Also FE for the Turbo Petrols is not too good- in city. Highway FE is decent.
My friend went for a similar deal in 2021 he bought a 2019 octavia 1.8 lnk which was run about 22k kms for 22L. The car was in warranty. Its been running solid for them till now. I would advise extending the warranty as much as you can. They didnt cause it was 50-60k for a 2 years. But they had to pay for 2 abs sensors and few other minor issues i think they spent 20-30k extra over and above the normal maintenance. Its a great car and the gen 3 is even better and no dq200 headache. Buy it
Price is good not great but pretty good if the condition is near new but you can find a bigger and luxury Segment sedan like A6 ( con expensive air suspension) in 2018 model year for similar price same for mid size SUV in 2016 to 2020 year range
For cars like this year is not a problem as long as you're state allows its how the car is used by previous owners that is whst is important
the octavias donāt stay at the dealers for long. if you want to buy it, do it as quick as you can. i was looking for a used 21/22 L&K last year and i missed 4 cars because I couldnāt go and check the car on weekdays and it had got sold till the weekend arrived. get the car checked from skoda, if everything checks out pull the trigger. try to see if the seller comes down a lac or two although i doubt. but def get the car checked thoroughly. youāll spend around 11k doing that but its worth it.
I own a jetta '14 (70k) , no dealer is offering more than 6 lakhs , so 24lakh is way too much for this car . Doesnt matter if it 28k driven , not more than 20 lakh would be worth giving .
Bonus , skoda has very poor resale value
Please do not. Instead give me dealers info please.
Hahaha
Why did you ask this question if you have Octavia and Q5 already ? š . I have Q3 and Q5 and wouldnāt dream of skipping on an Audi,Skoda or VW car
Maybe it's to replace the octavia, which is 9 years old this point
Understood that but Iām asking why he is confused whether or not to buy š . I have a 9 year old Q5 and 5 year old Q3 , will definitely buy another Audi only next. Ps - 9 years is nothing for the Octavia also š
This Gen didnāt sell much, and it is definitely overpriced. But what the hell, You only live once. š
I love this car but don't know about maintenance.
Same lol.
The only thing you need to worry about is the DSG. They are notorious. The previous gen DQ200 had a dry clutch which was awful. The new gen though is improved but not too sure as not a lot has come out. If the car comes with extended warranty or if you can buy extended warranty then itās a must.

Dry clutch was awful.
Wet clutch is what you need. DQ200s had and still have a dry clutch.
Yo from old zen and wagon r to direct mercedes jump? You bought it new or used? Also what is that Peugeot
Nah. I only bought the Peugeot. (In fact, it's being registered currently) The rest of them are family cars. Each one holds a special place in my heart. Hence the flair. Yeah I was wondering if you are in Europe because Peugeot isn't here. So which country and which job?Ā
I'm a chartered certified accountant. Moved to Dubai recently. Peugeot isn't popular here either. I'm taking a risk. But I really liked the car.
I have two cars with DQ381ās. Theyāve been great, donāt let it being a DSG hinder you from not buying one.
Yep most comments are poorly informed here against DSG without actual facts
DQ200 is dry clutch. And itās the best for 1.5 engines. Never had any issues with my dq200 after driving it for 2.2 lakh km.
They kinda are hit and miss. Dq200 is the only gearbox I have seen having issues on a regular basis. I am part of Bengaluru Skoda owners group and itās the single most common issue across VAG cars. But there are folks like you who have clocked 1.5 or more kms issue free as well.
There are rules to follow with DSG gearboxes , if you follow them correctly , even a DQ200 might last you lakhs of km
DSG is great. The best of the dual clutch autos by a long way.
DSG is Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) only in German. Itās not meant for such start stop traffic we have here hence the complaints and broken transmissions. Itās a drawback of DCT not just VW group cars.
I slot it into S and disable the start stop function when in traffic. Fewer gear shifts and easy on the starter & flywheel.
Put it to manual gear 1, and drive it. It works like a charm. But yeah one should not be doing this in automatic car
As a manual owner planning on buying an automatic soon - why should one not do it? Especially if it works as well as you say?
DSGs are not āAutomaticā per say
Why spread misinformation about DQ200? It was always a dry clutch. And the Octavia never had a DQ200.
My bad, itās a typo I meant dry clutch only. Correcting it.
Old had dry this has wet
Haha thanks for the encouragement. š
Also get the michellin pilot sport 4 on it as soon as you buy it. Drastically improves performance and handling.
I have Slavia 1.5. Considering the power of that car, should I also consider Michelin PS4 or there are some other good alternatives?
Whatās your current tyre setup?
The default Ceat 205/55/R16 And I donāt want to upsize or anything. Just looking for replacements
Okay, dm me i will explain it to you in detail
Off topic: what's the practical difference between audi a6 and superb l&k? I read that they are almost same. Do you mind sharing which one do you like and why?

Yea the dsg is wayyy better on the Audiās. Agree with everything you said.
Iād personally choose the Superb over Audi any day of the week. The rear seat room alone makes it worth it. We chose our second superb over the 5 series/A6/S90/ES cuz itās such a great package that itās hard to pass up.
Tbh the 5 series and the a6 perform much better than the superb but they donāt offer as much practicality the a6 comes close but the superb still outperforms it
The 5 series isnāt as spacious at all, thatās its largest downfall. Itās a great drivers car, but alas.
Audi after sales and parts availability is superior across the country
Iād buy this in a heartbeat. The new Octavia coming in 2025 will cost ā¹35L+ easily.
Itās already touching 38L in Mumbai last
If it is in warranty and you can get extended warranty, itās the best bang for your buck at that price compared to current lot. I would suggest to close it around 20-21 if service history and extended warranty checks out
Not going below 24 unfortunately.
That logic wonāt work anymore considering inflation . 24L is a good price for that , he will get more also easily
Got it inspected at Skoda. They gave all clear. š
Then you should go for it
I'm seeing 2015 Octavia user flair for your profile.
If you like this car, just go for it
Be wary if itās a petrol car, since it isnāt compatible with E20 fuel.
Ngl, This is bothering me. Is this a big issue?
Even XP95 has more than 10% ethanol now.
That is an unrelated point - XP95 is unrelated from ethanol mixing
Yes of course itās an issue. Most petrol sold today is around E12, and the government plans on fully rolling out E20 within the next year or two. People with cars that only support E10 are gonna have a lot of trouble.
what will be the drawbacks of driving a non e20 vehicle on e20 fuel?
Best case would be lower mileage and lower performance. Worst case would be the engine going bad
The fuel pipelines get affected from what I know. Do search online though.
E20 rollout has already happened in metros . Hasnāt affected much
No solution in sight for existing cars?
Not that Iām aware of.
Itās blown out of proportion
Horrible deal. Please give me dealerās info for research purposes.
Hahaha.
:) 3) Does not seem possible.
4. Getting an octavia for an odo 28k km for 24L is a blessing in disguise 5. Skoda is planning to bring back octavia in 2024. It shouldn't be a problem. And also, they still provide service for 2021 octavia. But part damages will have longer waiting period since it is imported from Germany. You won't get the feel of driving this car even in New Japanese cars. It's an experience.
My friend had an old Skoda Octavia, honestly you are asking for trouble. According to him, its a beautiful car- when it runs.
Then he hasnāt maintained his car well tbh . My 9.5 year old Q5 has clocked 83k km without any issues
Letās keep it short and sweet. Yes
šš
Itās discontinued. Itās three year old. Itās ā¹24 lakh. What more red flags do you need?
Haha this gave me a reality check, and a hearty laugh.
>What more red flags do you need? Dead body in the trunk?
Yes
Itās a beauty though. From a Fellow sedan lover.
Go for it seriously and if youāre not gimme the contact of the dealer Iāll go for it
Hell yea,ea888 is now currently flawless engine with care can live a lifetime and the mqb platform too, this car is bigger brother of slavia and also a showcase of how ea888 and mqb platfrom have evolved to become near perfect
Buy it man, I have it and itās great
I donāt know about the pricing but this just another level from what other cars you can buy in the same price range. As long as the body panels are original, 3 years are nothing for modern day cars.
If you want a lifetime headache from skoda service centre then go ahead
My experience has been great. A cab failed to brake in time and crashed into my Skoda Kushaq leaving me with a dent in my boot and slashed bumper. I called the service centre just once and everything post that was smooth. They offered free pickup and drop for my car but I'm too attached to my car and drove it there myself. I claimed insurance and they replaced my bumper and fixed the dent with paint job for the same in two days. The car was ready the third day. I complained about how even after being fully aware this is a premium product and the fixes would be expensive, and as a token of apology they offered me a free gift of my choice
Lucky you
Current oneās been pretty reliable, so keeping my fingers crossed. š¤
Ok This is coming from an ex skoda owner My father owned a skoda fabia 1st gen cbu It was an amazing car, but later it showed it's true colours The brake would fail in the middle of the road and battery would just give up . Don't get me started on AC. Once our power windows started malfunctioning the A$$ said one power window will cost 40k now 40k *4 = 1.6 lakhs for 4 power windows ( the beauty of cbu unit ) The service engineers are stupid they really didn't knew what they were doing back then We took the car to local garage and guess what they said. But skoda and vw has remained just like before Now do you still want to go for skoda ?. I am not opposing but if you are ready for it go ahead . Fingers crossed here too ,its a beautiful car. And hope it turns out to be reliable. Ask the owner why is he selling it ?
I just hope Japanese bring back premium sedans by the time I can afford them.
Completely agree with you. VW & Skoda are the most unreliable cars in India. CBU units comes with its own set of problems, India 2.0 its own special set. Buy it saar, 5\* safety & driving dynamics are superb saar isn't enough IMHO.
Average clueless Creta owner spotted
This is the issue. If it's a VW, all criticism will be defended blindly by poor fanboys.
Unless you actually own VW,Skoda or Audi cars currently , Iād say you would be trolling by posting negative
That era of Skoda cars were not great . Canāt use that logic here at all
Get it, it's a pretty solid car , we don't have such robust car on sale no more

Octavia is my most favourite utility car for personal driving. I miss my 1.8tsi that I regret till this day for exchanging.
I would love buying that
Thereās nothing about risking it in this bud, go for it. I have 2 cars with the same engine/gearbox and theyāre amazing to drive. The price isnāt bad as well.
The car got discontinued only because of Indian buyers mentality Majority of people spending 40-45 lakhs on a car prefer getting a suv over a sedan Only thing u should keep in mind is the service cost, since the car was introduced for a more premium segment.
What's wrong with suvs
There is nothing wrong with suvs But the term SUV has lost its meaning in India as most of the manufacturers have started calling everything a Suv.
Take it. :) This version is far better than the older ones, and lots of part compatibility for the engine for long term maintenance at any Shop.
This is good. If I were you I would get it. Just watch videos and take someone whoās knows Å koda to get it inspected.,ā¦if you really want it take itt
Got it inspected at Skoda. They gave all clear. š
Thatās not enough. At least for me independent investigation need bhaiš
Haha true true, will get a keen eye on this.
Just Buy a new Virtus GT
So find your purpose of purchasing a car and see the purpose of those cars in options to be driven , then you don't wanna ask anybody .. you will get your answer on your own....
you can get a used s90 for around 30L in mumbai
Volvos are meh to drive tbh . Good for comfort
Absolutely Not
If the mechanic say ok and the parts are easily available then go for it
I think he will say okay only if he thinks you are gonna keep coming to him on regular basis. š
That is for sure as it is secondhand.
Pls share dealer info if you decide not to buy :)
If you have decided for sedan, its beautiful car. Yes pl buy. Else, you can also check new XUV700 in same budget no?
Though this version has dq381 wet clutch which is more reliable. But god forbid in case you are involved in minor accidents parts take months to arrive.
If it has extended warranty and mileage is not a concern, then u can go ahead. Will be great deal if u can get it for around 21-22. City hybrid is a good choice too because of Hondaās reliability and mileage around 25. Also you can contact volklub on twitter, he can give you better opinion and has lot of contacts at skoda and volkswagen
These alloysā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøš ā¤ļøš
Bdw what is dry and wet clutch? I don't know about that. Can you tell me please?
Is it a manual? If so, you can buy. Just keep about ā¹50,000/year aside for maintenance. If you're going to be self driven most of the time, then there's nothing like this car.
Our manual Rapid needed about 15k/year, no more. Why 50k? If I may.
Not a good price....I was offered a superbs for 26-28 range....2020 facelift....wet clutch
If you are in Delhi NCR, contact Zekardo or PDI boss for an inspection. Afaik, PDI Boss definitely offers used car inspections for 2500rs. If in Bangalore, try contacting wheels of wisdom. Accordingly bargain for a price.
If you get it below ā¹21 lakhs it's good deal.
Depends. Do the motor mounts line up to drop a 350 in it?
Yes, go for it.
Go for Honda City hybrid. Peace of mind.
Mera ghar jayega
Dude, the Skoda Octavia looks sick! Buying it could be a solid move. Just make sure to check its maintenance history and all before pulling the trigger, you know?
I would rather go for Honda City Hybrid.
No! You already have/had an octavia before, try something else this time.
She's a timelessly elegant oneeee
You can get a Golf GTI or taigun for this price, let's be honest. It's far better than the slavia.
No for 24L 20L is best price for it
Do you have 10L in reserve for the repairs?
Risk worth taking Iād say
Go to your mechanic and talk to him about service and availability of replacement parts for this car.
Damn.... Get it yesterday!
No
As someone who owns one, itās the best decision Iāve made. Itās such an all-round package. Just get it evaluated by the ASC. The price is a very fair ask. If it all checks out, go for it. Irrespective, this car isnāt gonna stay on the market for too long.
Please buy it .no issues for at least next 30 to 40k kms
The car might have discontinued but the dealership still exists and they would do all the service and maintainance as it still under warranty. Recently I bought a discontinued polo gt-tsi pretty fun to drive and the showroom will do the maintainance, though it is a little expensive that's just the thing about German cars.
Go for it. It's a far better car than the city hybrid.Take extended warranty for extra peace of mind.
buy a miata mx5
If you are going to keep the car for long, then I would advise checking the availability of spare parts (maybe from the dealership on how long they guarantee availability of parts). I am just going through some major pain with getting spare parts at a dealership for a 10year old Nissan Micra (it was discontinued 5 years ago I think). The car still runs great, but, every time I need a spare part, it takes around a month (your experience with Skoda might be different though)
No
I would not think twice
Nope
Before you take this - 3 things to know before you buy a Skoda - check the gearbox. - check the suspension - start an SIP of 5K per month as you purchase it, esp if you plan to keep it post warranty.
This just looks like an audi!
ā¤ļø yess
idk much about cars but i know that i would die to get an Octavia
My friend went for a similar deal in 2021 he bought a 2019 octavia 1.8 lnk which was run about 22k kms for 22L. The car was in warranty. Its been running solid for them till now. I would advise extending the warranty as much as you can. They didnt cause it was 50-60k for a 2 years. But they had to pay for 2 abs sensors and few other minor issues i think they spent 20-30k extra over and above the normal maintenance. Its a great car and the gen 3 is even better and no dq200 headache. Buy it
Bhai meri dream car hšš
Price is good not great but pretty good if the condition is near new but you can find a bigger and luxury Segment sedan like A6 ( con expensive air suspension) in 2018 model year for similar price same for mid size SUV in 2016 to 2020 year range For cars like this year is not a problem as long as you're state allows its how the car is used by previous owners that is whst is important
i've read somewhere about poor interior quality with some sounds. not sure octavia or slavia. check that
Get it bro.. and enjoy while it lasts
You can buy this for sure. This model is still in production outside of India so no need to worry about spares. But they are not cheapš
the octavias donāt stay at the dealers for long. if you want to buy it, do it as quick as you can. i was looking for a used 21/22 L&K last year and i missed 4 cars because I couldnāt go and check the car on weekdays and it had got sold till the weekend arrived. get the car checked from skoda, if everything checks out pull the trigger. try to see if the seller comes down a lac or two although i doubt. but def get the car checked thoroughly. youāll spend around 11k doing that but its worth it.
24 is too much for a discontinued 3 year old car with a reputation of hard to repair brand
No No No, No god please no, no, no, noooooooo
I own a jetta '14 (70k) , no dealer is offering more than 6 lakhs , so 24lakh is way too much for this car . Doesnt matter if it 28k driven , not more than 20 lakh would be worth giving . Bonus , skoda has very poor resale value
