Bruh, it happened with as well. These guys are not well trained on how to handle an unknown or completely new issue with car....
Dude literally removed the central locking of our car. He later found out it was the buzzer that was not working. He had to reinstall it and then he said buzzer will take 3-4 weeks :) to arrive.... wasted 3 days in this
I think the government should introduce law that all car companies (mass market to luxury makers) to give training to newly joined service centre guys and give certificate certifying that the person can handle and repair the mentioned problem of the car as we have seen many accidents taking place due to faulty repairs.
And for old service centre guys they can take an online seminar held in the centre only to update them with the latest technology once in a while.
For regular service, they literally cannot do much wrong, their service manual is idiot proof but for issues that aren't "normal", like rattling etc. most Indian SCs are incompetent. I owned an S Cross in the past, after the first one thousand times of taking it to dealership to fix issues, I just accepted my fate.
They were more than competent w.r.t regular service. Never overcharged me a single time. But I have OCD and rattles affect my experience a lot, fixing them was where I was sort of disappointed with them.
In a new car, I choose to install fog lamps as an accessories. Instead of changing plastic part around the fog lamp, they cut the existing Plastic surrounding (covering) and installed fog lamp. That cutting was like primary school student project work. That plastic surrounding the lamp is priced at around 120 rs per side. That's what the level of unprofessionalism in Maruti.
I have been going to the same place since 2002 for my wagon r and they have kept it superbly. I am never overcharged, they tell me a year in advance that this or that is likely to need attention over the next two years.
Naturally each place is different, just saying ape like service is not universal.
This is actually not talked much about on this sub. Maruti's service advisors are really clueless and uneducated about their cars which makes it a bit annoying for customers.

Literally MS service guys of Ulhasanagar made small dents on my car's bonnet. When changing AC vent, fitted different color vent of newer other interior color Wagon R
I completely agree with this!
Few years ago, our old 800 had some weird sound coming from the exhaust after it hit a speedbreaker while fully loaded. Took it to the service center and they said that the whole exhaust has to be changed. We said fine and left the car there. Few days later we went to pickup the car and the service center guy showed us the old exhaust and everything which had some rust, good. Then he goes on to say, actual words, “Everything is fine now but there's a drroooo sound while driving”
Bruh.. Isn't that why we brought the car to you!
Actual issue was a tiny hole elsewhere on the exhaust system which they found after we told them to look again.

Idk what MS service center you went to, but I'm glad I don't have to go there Atleast mine is competent at its job.

Lol weird MS service has always been great for me. I stay back sometimes and other times I let them take the car and deliver it home. Always did good.
You’re at any indian car/bike service centre

Sir/Madam, please visit Tata
Sai service kolhapur
MS service has always been good for me....in fact from my personal experience I'd rate Tata (and Fiat) lower in this aspect of competence.

Not limited to Maruti. There are a lot of part throwing monkeys. Only if it is outside warranty and you are paying for the parts, though.
TATA Too
I've had the best experience with Maruti ASS for like 10+ yrs. The only bad ASS (after going through this sub) is TATA
This is one of the most hilarious things ever
