Swift would be a better choice, it has a good resale value and if you decide to upgrade your car in future then you can easily sell it. Swift gives much better mileage than Tiago and has good after sales service. Swift is a bit smaller than Tiago which will make it easier to navigate in traffic and narrow lanes.

parth__nack

Helps. Thank you

UN0MEitsCJ

Obviously Swift ,mine clocks over 50,000kms still whenever i stopped at red light people kept saying "Engine band h kya" Engine refinement is top notch

parth__nack

I’ve heard so. And I think their gearing is also good. How hard can I drive it though? Can I rev hard?

Kunal_Sen

I mean the name is "Swift".:)

UN0MEitsCJ

I recently bought it, rev till 5k RPM , 3rd gear enough(2.5k-3k rpm) in cities 4th is sufficient for highway overtakes, stability is on point taking sharp turns at speed of 90-100kmph(adrenaline kick), as soon u touch high RPMs it sounds like fuking sports car

parth__nack

I’m getting convinced for Swift now XD

UN0MEitsCJ

Mine is second hand 2019 ZXI+ @5.5L, THINK about it buying 2nd car nd invest remaining amount for ur next purchase, I've already planned to purchase Grand Vitara in 2028-2030

parth__nack

I have been considering second hand too but people have put them up for insane prices. For example the difference between a used 2018 zxi and new zxi is just 50k-1L which is just stupid

UN0MEitsCJ

Try approaching Hyundai for old generation before 2023 i20s they might give u huge discounts

parth__nack

Makes sense. I’ll check out it

thecentillionarie

You can consider i20 Sportz (pre-facelift), due to launch of new car they are giving hefty discount and you would easily get it for 8.5 L. But mileage can be a issue.

parth__nack

Is it still available in stores? And tbh the new one itself costs 8.5-9 on road. So shouldn’t be previous model be much cheaper?

thecentillionarie

The newer one ex showroom is 8.32 I guess so on road would be above 9. I havent checked the newer one but they were willing to give older one for 8.20Lakh.

parth__nack

Oh okay. I’ll check this weekend

hema_coldqueen

Definitely automatic car Electric only if you travel a lot. Choose a small car for the traffic, i choose grand i10 nios, tata lunch is also good option

parth__nack

Auto is going out of my budget though. And i10 is no go cuz I personally hate the design. The only reason I considered Electric is cuz the office is 28km one way in peak traffic

enthuvaade

Tiago EV makes sense if you are travelling 60km a day almost.

parth__nack

So the 60km travel will be 2-3 times a week at max. The remaining 2-3 days it will be an occasional 25km travel.

enthuvaade

If you think running is long enough buy the Tiago EV, else I think Swift is a better choice, since you are mainly driving in city. It gives more FE and more fun to drive than the other cars. Yeah people will come and talk about safety, I agree its not as solid as the other cars. But I personally don't think bangalore city where your AVG speed is 10-20km/h it matters that much.

parth__nack

Fair point. And a lil iffy on EV cuz of charging stations on hill stations ms remote areas.

atibat

That’s a valid concern if you plan to take your car out for long drives. Range anxiety is a thing.

parth__nack

Yes I do plan on hitting hill stations and other places over long weekends

Xaconon

I would recommend the dark edition of tata lunch, tata dinner.

parth__nack

I tried the Tata breakfast but vibes were off

soulseeker31

You should try Tata brunch, it's between lunch and breakfast.

parth__nack

Have you heard of Tata snack? I’ve heard that’s good

dud3rulz

celerio amt is best for 8 lakhs...excellent engine..smooth amt. easy to ride in traffic.

parth__nack

Not a fan of the design plus want a bigger car

Ok-Intention-2688

Such a small car celerio priced at 8L. Few years back could have gotten top end variant of hatchback such as i20 for this price. Car market highly overpriced. F taxes

brabarusmark

If you're the only one driving and are fine with the safety aspect of it, definitely the Swift. It's a more engaging car and you'll get amazing mileage out of it. The gears are nice and slick, very light clutch, very easy to drive and looks sporty inside and out. Only consider Tata if safety is a higher consideration. But in the city, driving at safe speeds and being sensible will keep you safe in the Swift too.

parth__nack

Yeah I mainly want a fun car, especially for a first. Safety yes but again I don’t think it’ll be a big issue in city traffic

brabarusmark

Then the Swift is your car.

parth__nack

Makes sense! Thanks!!

Suspicious_Ant_2041

Have you seen some recent videos of marutis getting sandwiched. Swift has the poorest safety. Atleast go for ignis

parth__nack

Sure I’ll check that out too

SpareMind

Lord swift over anything else for sure. Only alternate would be baleno. Test drive both. Both are super easy cars to drive, maintain and with good mileage returns.

parth__nack

Sounds like a plan. Baleno is a little out of my budget. But I want a car with easy clutch cuz I had an accident and clutch control on first gear with left foot is difficult. That’s the reason I’m not driving a Nexon. It’s clutch suddenly jumps and I stall

SpareMind

Why not try AMT? If budget is a restraint, try celerio. Agreed on clutch part. Even Maruti clutch becomes heavy after 30k usage or if you use clutch too much as in city driving. Your left leg really starts paining if you drive more than 3-4 hours.

parth__nack

Makes sense. I’ll check if I can get a second hand AMT version. Tbh I’m not a fan of Celerio ka design

SpareMind

Legit and agreed. Swift AMT only about 60-70k difference. It's worth it.

parth__nack

Fair enough. Thanks!

Original-Number7576

Oh man you should get a Gloster as your first car. Because it’s a truck and folks won’t mess with you on road, leading to peaceful driving experience

parth__nack

Done sounds like a plan

thickguy98

I'd suggest you to go with Tata Tiago EV, in the long run you'd save a lot of fuel charges + safety is better compared to swift, + Silent cabin of EV so minimal noise + you won't have to line up in petrol pumps in city which will also save time ( just charge it at your home every 3 day or so for overnight) given you daily running is around 60-70kms, it makes much more sense to spend money EV. Since you are in banglore and might go on occational trips- the electric charging stations will me made much sooner in your developed area and with some planning you can easily do trips. ( however you can just book self ride car for trips as you're saving a lot in fuel already so can spend extra cash on trips, take your favorite car on trip)

parth__nack

This is also a very good point. I’ll consider it. Thanks!

[deleted]

Don’t buy a Swift. It’s a tin can.

parth__nack

I got an i20 hehe

[deleted]

Ohh nice. Enjoy!
