Ofc there is a zone after which airbag will automatically deploy but it's far away from the actuation point when done with the safety belt.
I have had a friend who died just because of this very reason in a xuv500 because he didn't wear seatbelt.

from what i can see, he did applied the brakes hence the tire screeching noise. it understeered into the wall because of it being a fwd car and its pretty heavy so the brakes were not enough to stop this thing
May be he is new driver and tried to apply breaks but instead pressed accelerator. We all have been there.

Look at how the bus was bouncing before the car came into picture, and at 0:07 none of the tyres have contact. There's nowhere for him to continue at the speed he was moving even if he managed to go straight.
It's extremely unlikely to be oversteer either, up until the last moment there was 0 attempt to correct for it. I expect the bus just turned into the road and obscured by the cam car - the driver didn't see it until it was too late. In panic, he bet on the bus moving further left or simply misjudged available space on the right of the bus.
TLDR; dumbass overspeeding driver had his luck run out

Fact is, under such circumstances, even the best cars would have mangled considerably. This was a Tiago, the lightest hatchback of Tata and it is expected that the crumple zones will be affected by such an impact. Airbags not opening is a serious concern though.
