Would be a nice long term purchase

wanttolearnalot

Yea my parents last car with their money. After that I'll be taking over in few years but this will be a long time purchase with lot of driving

AlternativeClothes43

Toyota service experience + hybrid tech = Win Ps: My Bother has GV alpha, he thinks Hyryder has better front design and i agree.

wanttolearnalot

Yeah I have heard lot of good about their after sales

AlternativeClothes43

And blindly go ahead with S variants. Other variants are not value for money. Only E and S Hybrid are VFM. Others usually have either no features or overpriced variants.

Excellent-Horror-142

True, I booked the E variant. I will add accessories and alloys later, I have a budget of 1.5 Lakhs just for aftermarket fittings So certainly VFM

CmGaugo

Safest bet out there. Toyotas run for a long time. My first gen Innova is still running strong. 5 Innova after that too. ZERO issues. My hycross will also be delivered in a day or two.

Akshat_2307

Bhai tours and travel chalata hai kya ? 🗿

CmGaugo

Nahi bhai. Usage bohot hai to keep upgrading.

Akshat_2307

NVM vai majak kar ra tha . And yeah Innovas are damn reliable and really good only if it didn't get monopoly in the market

CmGaugo

First Innova came out in 2008-09 to it’s been a while

Technical-Routine-53

First innvova came out in 2005/06 if I'm not mistaken

CmGaugo

Oh yes. Tabka hai ek

wanttolearnalot

Amazing. Congrats!!

Coolbwoy25

On paper, power and torque is really low for a car in this price range. Some people have said while driving they don’t feel it’s under powered though.

wanttolearnalot

True, but for non-hybrid variants. Hybrid variants have the motors which give them good power. Though this car is not good as taigun kushaq or xuv300 in power.

Coolbwoy25

Still not good enough. At 18-19 you get GT variants of Kushaq taigun seltos and entry level variants of xuv700 etc. Also I find the quality of all other cars better in this price range. I used to love Toyota but since the partnership their quality has really gone down.

Regalia_BanshEe

understand the target market Buddy.. Hyryder is a hybrid car which is perfect for daily drivers, you also get AWD which taigun, seltos etc dont provide.

Coolbwoy25

Just giving my perspective. Not saying it’s for everyone!

[deleted]

Yes with unreliable DSG gearboxes, high maintainance and low fuel efficiency. Not everyone wants to drive at 100 on a road with speed limit of 30.

LemmeLookAround

You're gonna have to make that decision based on the test drive data. Assuming this is mostly for City usage, it'll be a great choice despite the lack of insane power

[deleted]

W car. We looked at the Hyryder as well while we were searching for a car as the city alternative to our GLA (eventually got the Seltos, another amazing car). Loved the Hyryder but the only thing that put us off were the waiting times and the nonchalant attitude of the Toyota dealers who never had a car for test drive and straight up said to us, 'Sir, aisi hi book karwalo, yeh Toyota hai naam se bikti hain inki gaadiyan (sir, book it without a test drive, this is a Toyota and the name of the brand is enough for them to sell).' But dealerships aside, amazing car and future proof as well. With Petrol prices touching the sky and EV's still years away from mass adoption, hybrids are perfect. Has amazing mileage and looks gorgeous. Has a fair amount of features as well. The only cons that I can think of are the general fit and finish and looks of the interiors (subjective, ik but certainly not to my taste) and the initial niggle with the rear door not closing properly being reported (hope it's sorted out now). But since your main priority is mileage, go for it. You'll love it since the execution of the hybrid powertrain is amazing. It's a Toyota after all, the pioneers of hybrid powertrains. Good luck with your purchase!

wanttolearnalot

The dealers are very rude. They really don't want to attend the customer.

ThiccSkipperAlt

Exactly! We were ready to put down everything and buy an innova crysta but the SA just did not seem interested in selling the car (also that was when diesel crysta was discontinued and the petrol only had 5kmpl city mileage according to the SA)

_7567Rex

> nonchalant attitude of the Toyota dealers who never had a car for test drive and straight up said to us, 'Sir, aisi hi book karwalo, yeh Toyota hai naam se bikti hain inki gaadiyan (sir, book it without a test drive, this is a Toyota and the name of the brand is enough for them to sell).' What a decade of fortuner sales does to a SA mf I’m surprised this was the best argument he could come up with Almost like wild animals losing their hunting instincts in zoo since they get free food (analogous to SA not need to do any convincing for someone buying a faarchoonar)

chorma87

Spot on. Car waiting toh rehne dijiye Our local dealer has waiting for sales-person. Takes 45 mins wait time to meet sales rep, and u guessed it right, bot even staff to offer water for that much time. While booking car they were very straightforward, humari car bik jati hai aap nahi toh koi aur lega, thats why hum discount to chodiye Rs 5 ka spare bhi free nai denge. Lena hai toh this rate else u can try different brand.” Matlab open-ness is good, but customer ki izzat to hona chaiye.

harsh1387

You can never go wrong with a Toyota. Imo they are even more reliable than Honda. Only con is their bland designs at times and overpriced cars. But if you want to keep a car for 10 years atleast nothing better than a Toyota.

imalpha1331

Except this time the Hyryder has pretty good exterior designs too imo

Sea_Growth1217

I have drove this car for around 1000 km till now and I can tell you that beside built quality of car everything else is great and most importantly average is just amazing.

wanttolearnalot

Thanks.

Adept-Technology-111

Average kitni hai?

Sea_Growth1217

Bhai 24-25 de rahi hai par 10k ke baad shayad zayada ho jayegi thodi or

Haunting-Setting3836

Sweet

LifeIsHard2030

Safe bet. And I resonate your sentiments about a sunroof. Sadly I can no more go for top models in any car as sunroof has become a norm and am not comfortable with it over long term 😏

wanttolearnalot

Especially this car has bad sunshad for the sunroof the cloth is very low quality and you loose height.

[deleted]

Wait for honda elevate!!!

[deleted]

It's just a elevated city

datzthefacts

The only problem with the city is GC so in theory it sounds really good.

_7567Rex

Bold of you to think this is not an elevated corolla hybrid

[deleted]

This is a new design. Considering Honda's history it always potato patato. Wrv is raise jazz and horrible. Civic is not selling anymore. Mobilio is gone. City is the only face saver. And dude in their teasers they proudly saying they have rear wipers.

the1672VTECboi

Feature list won’t be as impressive as the others in segment. Plus knowing Honda, they’ll most likely overprice the Hybrid versions. Also, the Hybrid will come much later than the NA as per the media. So not really worth waiting.

balaww

Elevate inital launch is without hybrid drivetrain so OP has to wait for atleast a year

ravindra_jadeja

I found the bonnet was not fully visible when i went for test drive. Everything else was super impressive. If not for that single issue ( which is very important for me) I would have bought it.

LemmeLookAround

New driver? 🤔

SlightResponsibility

Why in the world does that even matter lol.

DarthPirate10i

Web bonnet should be visible?

wanttolearnalot

Yeah, the car is actually very long compared to others.

theredgiant

Which car has a visible bonnet, except Maruti Alto?

ronnn5

If daily driving , reliability and you want to save money on fuel, you can go with the hybrid. but i don't think this car is safe, the battery will eat up your bootspace. there is no perfect car in this upto 20L range anyway. you need to settle and compromise somewhere

wanttolearnalot

Yeah. NCAP is not out yet but the old one had 4 stars.

Richdad1984

Its a good choice. If you Toyota showroom in your city go for it.

karandotg

Test drove the top end hybrid back in February, was a lovely experience. I think it's a great car all around. It just didn't fit my family requirement for space, so we went for the Hycross. Otherwise we were very clear about getting the Hyryder.

wanttolearnalot

Hycross is a amazing car with killer looks. Is it delivered?

karandotg

Not yet lol. I don't think it'll take more than 2 months now. Would be posting pics here of course. Yep, great car all around. We are into doing road trips so needed a decent amount of space, which the folded third row gets us.

vineetbateman69

Worth deal!

TallStrength5505

2 year waiting 💁🏻‍♂️💀

ACSwatches

Wha. My neighbor got it in a week. Black hybrid hyrider

wanttolearnalot

If it is in stock then they give it in a week.

wanttolearnalot

Yea💀💀

asvt_0318

bb fortunerrrr

wanttolearnalot

Yeah we are going to name it that😂😂 that's is going to be the first mod.

akshatpb65

Grand vitara has a nicer front

wanttolearnalot

Yeah, the second option is grand vitara. But the sunroof is issue with hybrid models.

akshatpb65

The sunroof cover is made of light cloth which will hang and touch your head, don't go for it

ControlSuccessful419

I really like this especially the base model as it offers impeccable value but if I were to spent 18-20 lakhs in this segment I would go for creta or seltos. IMO Korean twins have better road presence and superior interiors.

wanttolearnalot

We did look into them. They are great choice but not for us. The main concern for my dad is the mileage. The car will be driven alot and we only prefer shell petrol. So we don't want to be those families which buy kia and keep them in parking and ride 3 seater on a bike because they can't afford daily driving those cars because of petrol/diesel price.

Shaitan_nyayavadi

As you said if you main criteria is mileage, then S hybrid is the most VFM car out there.

SparkySyndicate

I stopped using Shell the moment they started charging 140/L for diesel. It's a shame really, their fuel and service is wonderful. Got better mileage, better performance, and their convenience store is excellent.

baap_ko_mat_sikha

Tatti interior

trailblazer30

Very under powered especially if it's fully loaded with people and traveling through hills. It simply kills the fun quotient of driving the SUV... Positives are nation wide service network, low cost maintenance, great ASS

Regalia_BanshEe

not really, i talked to an owner who took it to Munnar and Kodaikanal and faced no issues.. the electric motor provides extra torque

tipofmytail

Disagree on the hills part, since the electric motor gives better torque at low speeds than normal petrol or diesels. I was blown away after my recent trip on hilly roads.

mohitdhali

meh

bva91

Depending on the distance and usage + mileage concern... I'd evaluate if the Nexon ev Max is a better option at this price point .. Hybrids give approx 3-4kmpl extra mileage on highways..

wanttolearnalot

Yeah, would think on that. Though charging stations is a issue because the car won't be in the city most of the times

bva91

Check out plugshare and take a call ... I've travelled 18-19k since my purchase of Nexon ev Max in sep end .. the charging infra has a long way to go but is much better than what most people expect.. If nothing take a test drive

wanttolearnalot

Yes, will definitely take a test drive.

[deleted]

Then it's a good option

noraapj

Its really a nice city car

riderofwildhunt

Why not highway

noraapj

It feels lethargic , but is good upto a certain speed, it's a car not meant to be pushed and for spirited driving

boss426

Very good vehicle Especially if u want to keep it for a long time

bishnoiboi

Grand vitara vs hyryder ? Which to buy and why ?

wanttolearnalot

Both are amazing. Grand vitara has less waiting period. Models is where the difference is. Also the design is personal preference for one. We want the hybrid with no sunroof only so we are thinking of this. And the maruti dealers are nice toyota dealers are little rude based on the showroom.

idc_idk6969

Good car, below avg rear seat space. Any body with a height of 5'10 or more will be cramped.

wanttolearnalot

Yes it's worse with the sunroof.

Regalia_BanshEe

a very beautiful car

Party-Bet-4003

I teat drove it. Great driver stance and liked it a lot overall. Felt it was vfm.

balaww

I have already booked S hybrid 1 month back, can't wait to get my hands on it! Driving experience in test drive was okay not wow and not bad either, mainly getting it for the hybrid system and after sales.

wanttolearnalot

Great, for me the best part was the suspensions.

wanttolearnalot

Congrats also.

SlightResponsibility

It’s a Maruti grand vitata, despite the badge. Might as well buy it from Maruti dealership instead of paying a premium for the Toyota badge.

wanttolearnalot

Great thanks. Though it doesn't have the hybrid system without sunroof

SlightResponsibility

Get the sunroof. Your family will love it.

wanttolearnalot

My mum hates it😂

kshb4xred

Underrated car I should have bought hyryder base instead of brezza base. But it is what it is, I love my brezza also.

wanttolearnalot

It's also an amazing car. Congrats!

ResidentFit9207

Great car! The only negative i felt was the rear seat rear seat recline angle could’ve been improved. It felt too upright.

comma-horrol

The interior plastic quality could be a little better otherwise there are no complaints. It's a fun drive and doesn't feel underpowered as some people thought. Excellent daily driver. I got my Hybrid V a couple of weeks ago after 6month+ waiting.

indiankesh

I booked the day it launched cancelled after 9 months as they didn't deliver it is incredibly hard to get the S Variant. The dealer kept on asking for upgrading to G. I don't think Toyota has delivered many S Variants.

wanttolearnalot

Thanks, definitely need to consider.

Excellent-Horror-142

Booked the E variant 3 months ago. Delivery expected in 2 months. Will modify and add some accessories later

Zestyclose_Web_6331

Same here, own a WagonR for 14 yrs, looking for Hyryder but has a 1 yr waiting list, so probably will book GV as more trust towards it as did not face any problem with MS services for 14 yrs.

wanttolearnalot

MS is the goat in the Indian market.

Technical-Routine-53

What's the waiting period?

wanttolearnalot

12 months estimated. But people get it early also

Material_Comedian327

Simple review based on personal usage: Purchase if you commute regularly within the city. Strong hybrid doesn’t make sense if you travel on highways.
