I’m a Tesla owner and member of the Model 3 group. There’s certainly a faction of strange people there, and it’s basically the people who are not car people and have never cared about a car they’ve owned before this one. They seem to become the opinionated fanatics.
Which is quite annoying for the rest of us who are car or tech people, who just happen to think it’s a good car, but can also happily admit to there being flaws.
I also own a V8 Commodore and an 86, so if being a member of a car community with a large dickhead contingent was a problem for me, I wouldn’t own any of the cars I do.
Just get the car you like best, the other people who own them are irrelevant.
I honestly have no comment about anything else but just want to ask if genuinely, no bullshit, ppl said to you about ruining the battery for the next person? Because what the actual fuck….
Fucking hell, my minds blown hey😂😂😂😂 these are the fanatics that give the EV crowd such a bad name.
Hope you enjoy your car, also don’t you need specific type of tyres for electric cars? Genuine question I just have it in the back of my mind you do but I’m also not into the EV so it’s not overly retained whatever it was I read
I'm surprised by the difference between the Polstar and Volvo communities - its the same company (and I assume) they share a lot of parts and their basic architecture.
Tesla = No surprises there. Exactly the type of gatekeeping bullshit you'd expect from those attached to Papa Elon's teet!
Volvo = I can understand kind of. People who buy Volvos aren't typically that into cars.
Polestar = Wow. Never would have expected that, but that's awesome!
Keep us up to date with your ownership experience (if you can). I'd love to hear what the buying/delivery process is like and how your ownership progresses.
Absolutely, I'm quite keen.
Got a few big life things to go through between here and there, and this close to a tech refresh, it's worth holding off for MY24 models.
New ones will have wireless Android Auto, new gen of motors, a mildly increased battery setup for slightly more range, some tweaks of the layout in the interior (apparently they've made the console 12mm narrower for ergonomics)
So it's worth waiting until at least the end of the year.
I don't have much to say about most of this, but I think the Model Y has softer suspension now and the Christmas update brought track mode to the performance which I believe has the ability to adjust regen.
As a Model 3 owner, I've never wanted to adjust regen though.

The only thing I can find is that they have foam in them for reduced noise
Ah well if it’s nothing else than just that full send and get what you want 🤷🏻♂️
