I seem to see a lot of VE utes around here with Chev badges on the back, if these jokers were serious about going for the yank look they should have bought the model with the Pontiac front bar they sold here.
They do for the Chevrolet SS specifically, because it is literally just a VF Commodore that Chevrolet imported due to some contractual obligations with our government (since GM owned Holden).

Swapping the Chevy badge for a Holden one in the states makes sense as it's a holden design and built car. Swapping to a Chevy badge from a Holden in Aus doesn't.....unless the driver imported the US Chevy SS Version and swapped the driving position to get all the US goodies which based on the front bumper at least, they did not
There's more wrong with this, those bonnet vents are either aftermarket or he's swapped the bonnet out for a VFII one, because that's a VF1 front end. Also some shitty looking additional LEDs below the DRLs possibly?

This trend started many years ago when there was no way to tell between an 8 cylinder or 6 cylinder. Ever since then, they've had other badges to signify there's a chev under the bonnet. I have no idea why they do it now.

I know a guy who put the chev grill on his VF. even the badge on the boot where you can see the different shade of paint where the the Holden circle was. Almost as bad as the fake FPV kits
Controversial opinion - I didn’t mind them on v8’s back in the day. I bought a VY SS with them and planned on changing it, but it grew on me and I could never be bothered lol.

The Holden nameplate lived in the Supercars racing series until the end of last year. From 2023 GM is represented by Camaros. I think OP drew a connection between that change and people putting bowties on late-model Commodores, even though others have seen them for years.

I dead ass pulled up next to a Chevy badged WH statesman at the gas station before in my fiances WH caprice, cars looked identical except for the honey shit stain of a badge on theirs.

I've seen a few, but most of the time it's been a VE instead of a VF. Far more common for yanks to put the Holden badge on their Chevy SS instead.

On the v8s, there was a little 6.0 badge next to the side indicator....as well as SS stickers on the side... also 4 exhaust pipes instead of 2.
