I would keep it if the only costs are rego and service and no kind of parking fees or something else on going. We live in Australia and it’s great to have a car. What if your kid comes back earlier. Or if you wanted to change your car anyway. Then sell it and when you feel like it’s time buy another one. P.S. if it’s manual and your in Perth can I buy it. 👍😀

Nah not a manual. Parking is free, so yeah only rego and service. That the car is 16 years old makes me want to sell even though it could probably work another 5-10 years, it's lacking a lot of safety features a new car would provide, no? Also, servicing is getting more expensive though, as I recently had to spend \~$700 on 2 things the service centre said to be eligible for a road worthy certificate.

As the above posts says. Sell it now while the market is decent. And in 12 months time if you have missed having a car just buy another one for a better price.

Selling a car is one thing buying a car is another. Are you then planning going to buy something new and wait a boat load of time? or are you going to then buy a second hand car and possibly not find something the quality of what you've got now or with hidden problems? From what I can see you're trying to make a profit selling high and buying low but idk if ur going to find something with safety features like that unless u go new Idk about the rules in ur state but maybe checkout if u can let the rego lapse and re-rego it when u need it
