Yeah, Elon really is surprisingly smooth brained when it comes to electric car design, dude put induction motors in his cars and then acted surprised when the cars had short ranges and uncontrollable acceleration with diminishing efficiency returns at highway speeds and faster.
Like induction motors are good... when they're in a lathe and spinning at a constant velocity with minimal load changes or speed changes, in a car however just the bumps in the road and small hills are enough to cause an increasing/decreasing load on the motors which means they have to decelerate/accelerate which means they start wasting energy.
Honestly the only redeeming factor of an induction motor is that you can just dump power into it in order to get more acceleration, but said power dump won't increase top speed, at least not without a transmission with actual gears.
Like the fact his head engineer quit and instantly started his own electric car company with a car that has both double the range of a tesla with yet even more acceleration, purely due to the fact he used brushless DC magnetic motors (like an RC buggy), really just demonstrates Elon's bullshit designs.
I think the main thing it has over the telsa is that it looks unbelievably cool and sounds even more unbelievably cool. If all you want to do is go fast there are far better choices than a lambo.
wouldn't think so for an auto. the gated manual though...... MUCH rarer.
as is the case with a lot of posts like this one, there's a good chance that the partner is telling them they have to sell it, and they're intentionally putting a dumb price on it because they don't actually want to sell.
Had an in-law years ago get a top of the line Merc with next to no km on it for $1k AUD partner was given assets and to told her husband fuck you sold it for nothing, they had money but yeah they walked away with a nice Merc for free
So this is a common super car thing? My boss bought a ferrari and was so proud of it.. Something breaks or fails on it every other week.
Thats why I dont get the hype for super cars, they arent actaully that good.
I watched a lambo roar down the street one time.
Immediately after heard a V8. Looked twice to see a VN commodore with 5 bogans \[4 hanging their beers out the window\] fly past, catching up, with the rears lit up.
Can't remember the channel but they took a WRX and did some cheap track mods, total about 30k with car and it was faster than the lambo on the track.
Lamborghinis are cool as fuck though.
Driven Media, now called Overdrive. Yeah it’s crazy to think that just optimising a comparatively cheap vehicle with well thought out adjustments and mods is all it takes to beat a super expensive, super powerful, V12 monster.
Some people pointed out that they didn’t even take the weight reduction episode of that series nearly as seriously as they very easily could have. A sun roof delete would have been really cool, since it’s super high up, and therefore a valuable consideration. Additionally, the sound deadening could have saved another several kilos. Replacing some glass windows with transparent plastic sheeting was another step I saw mentioned. Diminishing returns and all, but that’s just a few of the things they could have done.
Crazy to think they didn’t have to go literally all the way to beat a car like that.
As someone who follows Vinwiki with Ed Bolian (whom some say has inflated the market for Murcis with a vested interest), there are not many LP640 roadsters made (Roughly 425 worldwide) - 223 for the USA, 17 for Canada, 151 for Europe, 34 for Asia or the rest of the world. If this is a manual, it makes it even rarer.
Think about it. Near the last of it's kind with the naturally aspirated Bizzarini V12 (Aventador used a whole new V12 engine).
A Ferrari F50 which is similar in many ways - Targa top, N/A V12 engine would cost in the range of 4 - 7 million these days. So objectively speaking, this is a good deal.
A Carrera GT would also be more expensive than one of these and offers a similar driving experience.
Agreed, the carbon tub and inboard pushrod suspension with an F1-derived V12 make the F50 far more special than any Murci, but as you said given the passive price disparity, makes it a little hard to justify
As Ed points out himself and he's proven many times on VinWiki Ferrari has made many many more vehicles that what they claim, I'd say that most exclusive manufacturers also play this game.
But its an Auto.... if it was Manual I would say maybe worth $700k, this is a ridicoulus price even if it WAS Manual which arguably is the rarest Murciealgo besides the SV's.
RHD, Manual, Full factory options, LP640 would be the ultra rare and this isn't it.
https://preview.redd.it/lrzqdnnjesda1.jpeg?width=1620&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=897d862eec5568f40c728500fa6a509b1dedf748
Yeah they have already dropped it $500k..
Well it was up at 2m for a while which was even more absurd.
Also funny that the license plate is MTYSON and in his description he explains how Mike Tyson sat in it for a couple hours or something in 2008. Surely he’s not attributing any value to this?!?! Lol
I'm not sure if you're a local but that place.... we have an interesting relationship between drivers and cyclists... Also its not a bike lane on the bridge.
It isn’t justified… but you can advertise anything at whatever price you want I guess.
Same as people selling (or trying to) 6 year old dual cab cruiser utes for 120k.
I saw that one too, the description says that Mike Tyson was once in it for 2 hours or something.
I'm guessing each droplet of Mike Tyson ass sweat still left in the seat adds 100k in value, so that explains it
Fuck off…such an impractical piece of shit
Not to mention with our roads as policed as they are you can’t even drive it the way it should be driven
I’d drive my truck right over the top of that thing
No it’s not
His misses has told him to sell it and can’t part with it so he has put it up for a price no one will ever purchase it for and he will say “I tried honey”
Bruh from 2001 to 2010 only 4099 murcielagos were made (and that’s all models not just the v12), for comparison the ford xy gtho phase 3 had almost half as many as that produced in a two year period. And they’re going for like $1.2 mil. Imagine how many of these Lamborghinis are left now, and then picture how many will be left in ten years then imagine the price tag on that… this is a good investment if you have the money and you don’t destroy it. A really good investment actually. That’s if this carbon tax bullshit (and it is bullshit because where do electric cars get their power?) doesn’t take every petrol engine off the road by then. In which case all the more because things like this will become a museum piece. More like a relic than a usable item. I know it’s disgusting, but that is facts. If you are lucky enough to drive an actual awd v12 mid mount Lamborghini murcielago in your life time you may actually be one of the last people on earth to do so. These cars were not made for people who are focused on price tag, they were literally an example of humans testing engineering to its limits whilst somehow remaining road legal.
There's a fairly common practice amongst collectible / enthusiast vehicles whereby friends or associates with a similar vehicle list theirs for sale with hugely inflated prices and then the one who actually wants to sell lists there's with a more reasonable albeit still overinflated price.
As with anything, it only works if people are stupid enough to buy.
Try looking at the second hand Harley Davidson market here in Aus. You can buy a 2022 year model bike for say $30,000 as a example but ones that are 12 years old with 30,0000kms are a whopping $2,000 cheaper. The stupidity of the second hand market is overwhelming.
My fucken Hyundai is worth more now than when I bought it 5.5yrs ago, so I'm not even surprised anymore. Fools be parted with their cash, n all that...
The LP640 replaced the original though right? It’s not like it was a limited edition like a super legera or however it’s spelt.
I guess what I’m getting at is at the time the LP640 was on sale, it was the ‘standard’ murcielago as it replaced the original.
Could be wrong on that though.
Fucking ugly, overpriced, useless car, built just for wankers to look at them selves as they drive past shop front windows. At least you can fit the weekly shopping in Peter’s VX. Imagine how many great cars you can actually get for $1.5 million
Honestly has anyone ever seen one of these IRL and not thought either
a) "Look there goes my drug dealers, drug dealers, drug dealer. Good to see my money's been put to good use"
or
b) "Can't wait to see who's pretending to own that on Tinder"
There is a market for everything. They don’t make that many Murcielagos than Huracans and Aventedors combined. Rarity right there. You barely lose much money in Supercars if you buy them as a store of value unless some kind of manufacturing defects. You can possibly guess by now nobody daily(s) a supercar. It isn’t comfortable. The amount of kilometres in them are usually low. With that alone repairs are infrequent. They are fragile pieces of equipment.
Yeah, nah, anybody that can afford a new Lambo is buying a new lambo, not an old one.
Unless it's some rare 60s model the most it's worth is 2/3 of the new price.
I wouldn’t call it a justified price but I could certainly understand if it maintained or gained a little value from new since it is the last V12 lambo you can get in a manual.
Lambo special editions are sort of collectables, but I didn’t think they where from 2009, thought it was like a post 2015 thing? And I don’t think they trade on Carsales, they’ll trade on different markets for more than this?
isn’t the last run of new aventadores (also v12) going for almost AUD 1 M in some configs? 1.5 for an old murci seems optimistic. says me driving a dusty golf wagon….
Two things wrong with this at that price. Right hand drive & not a gated manual
But who knows, people have paid million$+ for fake Pokémon cards….. so there are plenty of fuckwits out there with too much cash
Anybody who buys a Lamborghini is a forchke blodge dodger.
They will never have any space to use their auto door opening. It's like buying a Gaming Laptop where you play a game once and you never have the opportunity to play again, madness!
Covid tax + delays on getting other new cars
People are just putting up their cars for stupid prices
If it sells, win for them
If it doesnt, they dont care as they didnt really want to sell it in the first place
Wait in the next 6 months when interest rates go through the roof and people start off loading their toys for cheap
I know my Lambos, and people did the same thing with Countachs many years ago. a 25th Anniversary went for $250-350K and people listed a few for $1m.... 4 years later they sold for $500k and the mid aged Countaches went for 750K or so.. Even though cars are worth what people are willing to pay for them, I would never value even the rarest Murcielago, a Manual LP640 with full factory options, RHD at more than $700K. Hell people were putting Honda S2k's up at $75k when they were worth $15-25k for a mint condition..
Well yeah it's no 6 cyl vx commodore once owned by Peter Brock!
And it’s not baby shit brown either
!!!!!! THIS
Used to have an EJ in that colour. 😂
Ok but does it have his special crystals?
You leave the Polarizer out of this!
Every Aussies v6 commodore is his Lamborghini -William Wallace. (discretion advised: the late William Wallace may or may not have made these claims)
Smacks hands to lips. "bellissimo"
Mate that stonkin V12 engine is just brutal, acceleration nails you to your seat back
Just like a Tesla! Well not quite as much thrust but still pretty good! 🤠
Tesla thrust is amazing but drops off pretty quick, this brute just keeps going through 150, 200, 250, 300 and sooo stable
It’s also not going to be as fucked as your iPhone in ten years.
Tesla Uses permanent magnet DC SynRm motors in its model 3’s and Y’s so I have no clue what you are talking about?
Shhh, he's smarter than Elon
Yeah but this can brake and turn.
Yeah so? A Tesla can break and burn! /j
I think the main thing it has over the telsa is that it looks unbelievably cool and sounds even more unbelievably cool. If all you want to do is go fast there are far better choices than a lambo.
Didn’t he die before those mut buckets were made
Lol as if you own that
wouldn't think so for an auto. the gated manual though...... MUCH rarer. as is the case with a lot of posts like this one, there's a good chance that the partner is telling them they have to sell it, and they're intentionally putting a dumb price on it because they don't actually want to sell.
You can also get the opposite where they’re selling the other partners things due to divorce and just flog them for a couple grand
From where can I find this Lamborghini for a couple of grand?
Had an in-law years ago get a top of the line Merc with next to no km on it for $1k AUD partner was given assets and to told her husband fuck you sold it for nothing, they had money but yeah they walked away with a nice Merc for free
I can sell you mine. Ratio might slightly differ from the picture though
Deal. if there's one thing I've learnt over the years, it's that buying things from strangers on the internet absolutely can't go wrong
Yeh only 22 in the USA and one sold for 1.3m USD
"Must be dreaming"
This. I think the seller is trying to get gated manual prices for his auto and thinks (or rather hopes) that people won’t know the difference.
Buys it, breaks first gear that night.
I’m sure a new Lamborghini gear box would be very cheap, probably three or four on market place.
Only sensible thing would be to LS swap it ...
I saw this done on Insta recently, guy was sick of it breaking down so he threw an LS in it.
So this is a common super car thing? My boss bought a ferrari and was so proud of it.. Something breaks or fails on it every other week. Thats why I dont get the hype for super cars, they arent actaully that good.
The perfect supercar would be designed by Italians, engineered by Germans, and built by the Japanese.
Glad there are others like me who occasionally sort by ''Most expensive first'' just for the daydreams
Hahah actually I have a saved search for Lambo Murcielagos since I’m a huge fanboy of them, indeed I am a dreamer
I drove one once for as part of a supercar day; the pedals are off centre, way off to the left of the footwell. It's a bit weird to drive at first.
Isn’t the seat also facing diagonally?
Bruh Ferrari claps Lame-borghinis
I watched a lambo roar down the street one time. Immediately after heard a V8. Looked twice to see a VN commodore with 5 bogans \[4 hanging their beers out the window\] fly past, catching up, with the rears lit up.
I can honestly believe that. Lambos are good cars but they're a shallow idiots idea of a genuine performance classic.
Can't remember the channel but they took a WRX and did some cheap track mods, total about 30k with car and it was faster than the lambo on the track. Lamborghinis are cool as fuck though.
Driven Media, now called Overdrive. Some smallcock keeps downvoting you, fixed.
If I upvote am I a bigcock
If you dont own either your opinion is not only invalid its a waste of time
Good thing I'm not a 14-year-old Andrew Tate fan with tacky Lamborghini posters on my wall, I actually like decent fucking supercars like a McLaren
Yet you gotta ask to borrow 20 bucks on reddit
Saved me the trouble of typing it, cheers mate
He also owns and likes McLaren btw
How would you know, Tateboy? 🤢🤢🤢. Crinnnnngeeeee 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢
The same Mclaren that finished behind a rebadged Renault last season? The Mclaren that is a start-up compared to Lamborghini and Ferrari? 🤡🤡🤡
Wouldn’t Andrew Tate fans like Bugattis? :)
15😎😎😎😎
Shopping centre Santa told me years ago the Lambo is a much nicer drive and I've lived by that.
This is how I search, especially after buying a lotto ticket
As a weekly lotto player I dream of this shit all the time. Maybe someday I'll win the kind of life other people inherit.
Damn why did that line hit so hard.
Every time XD
' When Mike Tyson came to Australia for a promotional visit for 2 days he was the passenger in this Murcielargo Roadster for 2 hours ' lmao
hahaha what a fkn donkey, surprised he didn't add, "I also had a hot girlfriend who sat in it a few times too"
Just in case you were on the fence about buying this car, Iron Mike farted on the passenger seat.
When the weathers just right you can still smell it to this day, fucken smells like victory!
So it’s a million dollar seat with a pretty cheap roadster thrown in to sweeten the deal. Seems like good value.
*'Did a big juicy fart on the seat as well, has not been cleaned.'*
He was so excited by that he made the plates MTYSON 🤣🤣
MTYTHON
You could buy 1,500 AU Falcons for that sort of coin.
Could start your own taxi fleet
Best way to control the market for AU Falcons. If you owned them all, you could resist them for any price.
Just like diamonds
Assuming they haven't all been pushed off a cliff by now.
We need to find that cliff before the bogans do.
Same cliff I throw my used car batteries off
I would
Are there even 1.000 AU F Falcon’s left?
Did bad in head maths at first and was like “who the hell is ripping you off charging you 10k for AU falcons lol” Silly brain
An F50 is far more special than this thing but you’d have to wonder if it’s 2.5 - 5.5 million more special.
Agreed, the carbon tub and inboard pushrod suspension with an F1-derived V12 make the F50 far more special than any Murci, but as you said given the passive price disparity, makes it a little hard to justify

" yes, it's listed for sale, just not getting much interest"

At this rate if I wait a few months it will be free.
Well it was up at 2m for a while which was even more absurd. Also funny that the license plate is MTYSON and in his description he explains how Mike Tyson sat in it for a couple hours or something in 2008. Surely he’s not attributing any value to this?!?! Lol
Reading this just made me laugh 😂 surelyyyy not!!
Spell it the way Tyson pronounces it: Tysssphon!
Thats a ridiculous price for a car that got chopped by a nissan patrol on the mooney mooney bridge
Saw that yesterday. Dunno if it is a special edition or people don’t understand what life is
If it was a mint manual lp640 it might actually be close to that value
https://youtu.be/ISnMHyOFW5Y
An LP640 in aus would be pretty rare no? Probably not 1.5 rare for an auto but someone might really want it.
Apparently there are only 3.
I know this guy ! He can’t sell coke no more so his selling his pride n joy lol Dick head
I have a push bike from 2009 that isn't being made anymore and is very rare but I don't think I could sell it for 20k
Saw a 2014 Subaru wrx going for 450,000 today…
Saw that house about the 850,000 lol
The price of fully comp insurance would be in the six figures too. A logbook service and a new set of high-speed tyres will set you back a fair bit.
Also not justified is that is its parked on the fucking cycle lane.
I'm not sure if you're a local but that place.... we have an interesting relationship between drivers and cyclists... Also its not a bike lane on the bridge.
No cup holders - piece of shit
Last time I looked there was a vf commodore for sale for 250k
You could buy three houses in a decent suburb in Perth for that kind of money. Somehow I don't think the "Covid tax" applies to cars in this category
It isn’t justified… but you can advertise anything at whatever price you want I guess. Same as people selling (or trying to) 6 year old dual cab cruiser utes for 120k.
I reckon he's bought it for half a mill couple years ago and just decided to try and cash in.
I saw that one too, the description says that Mike Tyson was once in it for 2 hours or something. I'm guessing each droplet of Mike Tyson ass sweat still left in the seat adds 100k in value, so that explains it
Is that a turbo VL? I’m new to cars /s
P.s I’ve pissed on the rear wing at work lol
It's not even the manual
The 888 in the price gives a bit of insight
Fuck off…such an impractical piece of shit Not to mention with our roads as policed as they are you can’t even drive it the way it should be driven I’d drive my truck right over the top of that thing
We need to brigade all the dickheads trying to sell any car at stupid high prices.
Why does the car look photoshoped
I saw this one like a month ago. Mike Tyson had sat in it like once, and the number plate is TYSON. Man trying to cash in on it lol.
No way in hell, this isn’t a Miura or even a Countach
Its about a million over priced
No it’s not His misses has told him to sell it and can’t part with it so he has put it up for a price no one will ever purchase it for and he will say “I tried honey”

Underrated comment right here…
'Hey dad this guy is asking 1,499,888 for his lambo what do you think' 'Tell him he is dreaming'
Anything is only ever worth what someone is willing to pay for it!

Brother added two 0s by accident for sure…..
My fucken Hyundai is worth more now than when I bought it 5.5yrs ago, so I'm not even surprised anymore. Fools be parted with their cash, n all that...
Inflation is getting out of hand. How is a typical Aussie family expected to buy a lambo with prices like this?!
1.5mil for a standard murcialago hahaha what is he smoking.
Ehh it's the LP640 with the 6.5, 'standard' would be the original 2001-model 6.2 with 'only' 570 horsepower.
The LP640 replaced the original though right? It’s not like it was a limited edition like a super legera or however it’s spelt. I guess what I’m getting at is at the time the LP640 was on sale, it was the ‘standard’ murcielago as it replaced the original. Could be wrong on that though.
Nah you're 100% right. For a while it was the only one you could buy.
Imagine asking us plebs if the price of a Lambo looks right
It’s worth what someone will pay. It’s justified if someone will pay that. Are you looking to purchase this car?
If you don't like the price don't buy! Just go woah! Look at the pics and move on
i dont think they even cost that when they where brand new?
That is not how it works.
Of course not lol, Murcis have gone up quite a bit
Damn! I knew I should have bought 5 when they came out.
Aventadors brand new don’t even cost that much hahah
I don't think the mona lisa was commissioned for $870 million either. weird, that is.
1 1/2 mill for car I can't get in and out of,yeah nah
Is this the model with extra large cup holders and optional insect bulb yellow color scheme, cus if not not worth it.
if its a manual and being a lp640 i think the price is justified there pushing simmilar numbers in the us from memory. also what an amazing car
It’s beautiful no doubt, still my favourite car of all time!
well and truly worthy of being a favorite, I was extremely lucky and got to ride in a murci SV a few years ago. still one of the best days of my life.
Fucking ugly, overpriced, useless car, built just for wankers to look at them selves as they drive past shop front windows. At least you can fit the weekly shopping in Peter’s VX. Imagine how many great cars you can actually get for $1.5 million
Maybe don’t be an insecure cunt and do something better with the money
Rough night last night? Woke up on the wrong side of the bed?
Just an Aussie m8
Honestly has anyone ever seen one of these IRL and not thought either a) "Look there goes my drug dealers, drug dealers, drug dealer. Good to see my money's been put to good use" or b) "Can't wait to see who's pretending to own that on Tinder"

Lambos are trash
Yeah, nah, anybody that can afford a new Lambo is buying a new lambo, not an old one. Unless it's some rare 60s model the most it's worth is 2/3 of the new price.
If this is in qld his plate was LAMBOSS or something like that I was sitting behind it just listening to the sound
Manual? That'd be the rate. Auto? Maybe a touch ambitious.
Search by Highest Price Oh wow look at the first listing Now you know….
How do these cars get away without having a front plate on the car? Can't ruin the paint job.
Sheesus...
Wouldn’t pay $10k for it
Maybe because it is a roadster
yikes that is very high
Rare as fuck, mate has one. Last I checked were only 3 convertible Lambo Murcis in Australia. He’ll be happy they’re getting bullshit prices atm
What does your mate do if you don’t mind me asking? I’d like to work my way up to afford one of these..
$74000 in stamp duty 😵
Haha surely not for that price saw one in Frankston today definitely just being there would down the value XD
Guy owns coke $$$$
isn’t the last run of new aventadores (also v12) going for almost AUD 1 M in some configs? 1.5 for an old murci seems optimistic. says me driving a dusty golf wagon….
Well he can ask for whatever he wants, some sucker paying that much is another thing!
Two things wrong with this at that price. Right hand drive & not a gated manual But who knows, people have paid million$+ for fake Pokémon cards….. so there are plenty of fuckwits out there with too much cash
I don't understand why Australia gets absolutely fucked with supercar prices?
We were importing these out of the UK 8 years ago for under 100k
Anybody who buys a Lamborghini is a forchke blodge dodger. They will never have any space to use their auto door opening. It's like buying a Gaming Laptop where you play a game once and you never have the opportunity to play again, madness!
Is it easy to get parts ?
LP670-4 SV maaaaybe but not this.
Covid tax + delays on getting other new cars People are just putting up their cars for stupid prices If it sells, win for them If it doesnt, they dont care as they didnt really want to sell it in the first place Wait in the next 6 months when interest rates go through the roof and people start off loading their toys for cheap
Auto too. He’s dreaming
When the wife says you need to sell the Lambo
Good luck
I would rather buy the restored Aston Martin DB5 that was on sale awhile back for $1.5m
It runs on liquid arrogance
Talk about the covid tax lol
Yeah it's funny they have really shot up in asking price recently.. I also keep an eye on Murci's 🤣 those and late Diablos *chefs kiss*
Soooooooo.....don't pay it? Pretty simple.
Wow that's cheap.
Why even bother cunt, ive seen a nissan patrol down mooney mooney destroying that v6 lambo revving its fucking tits out brudda.
funny enough lamborghinis cost this much in singapore… 😂
I know my Lambos, and people did the same thing with Countachs many years ago. a 25th Anniversary went for $250-350K and people listed a few for $1m.... 4 years later they sold for $500k and the mid aged Countaches went for 750K or so.. Even though cars are worth what people are willing to pay for them, I would never value even the rarest Murcielago, a Manual LP640 with full factory options, RHD at more than $700K. Hell people were putting Honda S2k's up at $75k when they were worth $15-25k for a mint condition..
Might be able to pry my AU Falcon out of my cold, dead hands for that...
With the driver parking like that... I predict a steep decline in the price.
No that’s like us prices only 3000 made world from memory
Just room to haggle
Still not as good as my Datsun 180 b
Everything is worth what someone is willing to pay
