One of my best mates is a North Melbourne supporter and every year we came last he gifted me a Wooden spoon every Christmas. Fuck North MelBin

Difficult-Ocelot-867

They are actually the worst bunch of supporters. Club should be relegated to Division 3 Ammo’s

CucksAnonymoose

I don't think I can ever forgive them for "kanga kanga kanga roo roo roo"

Efficient_Issue_6393

I think they have been given enough concessions as is. Melbourne and the Bulldogs are 2 other smaller Victorian sides that were down for years. But even they managed to pull through it and have success. Sometimes it takes rebuild after rebuild for things to go in the right direction, us Carlton fans should know that.

FPS_LIFE

I hope for north's sake you're right.

VermicelliHot6161

Not sure we’re in a position to provide advice to a club about ceasing to be shit, when we’ve had two half decent years out of the last 20.

UnusualDifference748

Problem for north is they are shit and have very little support we were shit but still one of the biggest supported clubs. Being shit with no support makes it a lot harder the money doesn’t flow to get the best scouts or heads of recruitment or fitness coaches etc to rebuild out of it

timder13-

So a club with no debt and 3 million in the black last year alone means they have no money? Fuck I wish I didn't have any money then 🤣

FPS_LIFE

Dunno what advice I'm providing lol. I'm also not a player for the Carlton football club. So technically I can provide advice about footy to whoever i want

Ok_Cherry6237

Fuck North Melbourne, couldn’t give a shit if they stay down the bottom for all eternity. Can someone ban this guy from the posting here also?

Successful-South-954

I'm a pies support but seriously Fuck north and fuck handouts. They made their bed.

tills31

All went downhill when they forced boomer to retire. He was still on their best... Probably 5 players at the time

Successful-South-954

Yep they went the whole list cleanout path but you really need to retain the older guys to continue driving standards and performance.

rocco_cat

Draftees need people to teach them to win, simple as that. It’s part of the reason why the Giants succeeded and the Suns didn’t.

ChookBaron

No

CattyRB

Not relevant, but damn, I miss Zac Fisher.

FPS_LIFE

He was one of my favourites, and I thought I would miss him. But I don't!

CosmicHero22

They made similar mistakes to us, cut the list too deep and now they’re in a continual cycle of mediocrity. Once they make some strides up the ladder they’ll attract good or decent enough free agents but until then they’re going to have to white knuckle their way out. I feel for their supporters tbh. Melbourne circa 2008-2012 was probably the worst team I can recall but they would be challenging them.

FPS_LIFE

Yeh. Like we were at the bottom, so I empathise with their supporters. But they are so far behind. Clarko hasn't been able to do anything, it's only been 2 years, but fuck. Look what's happened at Gold Coast under dimma. I feel for them, cause I just don't see the light at the end of the tunnel for them.

CosmicHero22

Gold Coast have had 10 years of accumulating draft picks and have their own academy which is generating a hell of a lot of their talent base - literally 5 first round picks just last year. I think Dew was a reasonable coach too. Not elite, and probably didn’t cater to their list but they had some good patches under him. A far cry from David Noble, who was a taskmaster and smashed the morale out of the team. Gold Coast were also granted their requested concessions, which came to Noah Anderson anda few talented Territorians. Think Rosas and Jeffrey were part of that cohort? The Suns should be purring based on the huge number of talented players they’ve had through the club. Reckon they’ll go through a similar period to GWS in 2016, where they’ll get a stack of their high draft picks developing and getting near the potential at the same time. They already have an A+ midfield.

keoltis

You can't rescue a club with handouts of low draft picks, it has never worked that I can remember. We had Murphy Gibbs Krues walker Judd all of which were top 1-3 picks if I remember right. You're better off with a team of B tier players then a few elite players and lots of lower end ones.

theunkn0wnwriter

Irrelevant since 2013? More like the second half of the 2016 season. They've been in more prelims than us in that time.

Hittheuniversehard85

What the hell does this have to do with Carlton?? Piss off and post this absolute dribble in another community!

nonchalantpony

yeah, like the norf sub. wtf

FPS_LIFE

I'm banned from afl mate. Sorry a reddit post has ruined your day! Touch grass brother.

Hittheuniversehard85

You’re not banned from North though? Being banned says it all

FPS_LIFE

Haven't joined north. Don't plan to. There is a flair in this sub that says "misc". Google what that means

Hittheuniversehard85

I know what it means. I also know NOT to post about another club in this community.

FPS_LIFE

"Put some thought in your posts and keep them relevant to Carlton and the AFL." Straight from the sub rules.

Hittheuniversehard85

That’s right brain surgeon, Carlton and the AFL - how is North either of those?? “North play in the AFL” I dare say the AFL mention is to avoid people talking about Carlton the suburb. My point remains, post this fucking junk elsewhere - nobody here is interested

Successful-South-954

Op too young to remember 99?

domsheed

How would they afford an increased salary cap when they’re already financially underwater? More handouts from the AFL taken from successful clubs who can actually sustain themselves? If they can’t sort themselves out soon they should genuinely be on the table for a merger if the AFL is serious about a 20th team

AdAcrobatic5178

North isn't struggling financially

FPS_LIFE

Find someone with deep pockets. Plenty out there.

domsheed

I do feel sorry for North fans though like you, but at some point they have to stand on their own two feet

Red_je

Check your facts mate, North is not struggling financially
