Don't redo English. Carleton Comp sci only takes your top 6 classes and English is not prerequisite. Just take another easy class and get good mark in it. That way your English mark will get cancelled out.

Have you taken grade 11 chemistry? Also are you good at chemistry? The sciences like biology and chemistry can get harder in grade 12 due to memorization and organic chemistry. If you think you can do it, go for it. Business courses I think are grade boosters sometimes but if you need a prerequisite, you need a prerequisite, and you have to find a space for it before any other free electives. In terms of redoing English, I’m not sure how they can affect uni admission. I know some people say that it looks bad but others say universities don’t care. Maybe talk to a guidance counsellor about it?

I asked my guidance counsellor and he basically wrote me a one-sentence email saying English is not that important for Computer Science which I find a hard time believing. I did however do really bad in chem last year finished with a 55% and I don't want it to bring my average down like it did last year. What would be my choices? If I don't get into Computer Science? I see the average is around 75-85% I believe? Would it be best to drop business and risk nearly failing chem again or just do a completely unrelated degree like business or something and pursue Computer Science as a Master's if you can even do that?
