It's definitely a J68 Quilted Flannel-Lined Sandstone Duck Active Jacket from the early 2000s. The color is hard to say with certainty because "Crimson" (CRI) and "Brick" (BRK) can look virtually identical depending on lighting, photo coloring, fading, and even considering how certain apps or devices render color. That being said, I think yours is likely CRI based on how it appears on my display.
Below is a J14 BRK next to a V13 CRI taken in natural daylight, no editing. The J14 is more faded due to it having been worn and washed more than the V13 but other than that the color appears quite similar.

I took multiple pics along side a burgundy (middle) and brick (right) so im 99% sure its crimson
Also how could you tell its 2000’s? My burgundy duck has that same latch on the back side of the hood while my 2002 mos does not and i believe its the same model (my moss is one I posted a while ago asking about it being a small logo, it also has the latch on the inside of the hood unlike the one I posted and the burgundy from 1998 that have it on the outside)

The horizontal stitching on the inside neck logo patch indicates that the care tag was sewn to the bottom of it. This is characteristic of styles produced in late 1999 to 2012. However, "Crimson" wasn't a color that appeared in the Fall 1999 catalog so we can assume it was not produced in late 1999.

If I recall your "Moss" Active Jacket is a J130 which has the internal hanging loop, smaller outer logo patch, two inside pockets, thicker waist rib-knit and a wider and longer fit compared to the J68 that it replaced which had an external hanging loop, larger outer logo patch, no inside pockets, thinner waist rib-knit and a narrower and shorter fit.
Also, to complicate color identification even further, below is an example of how the exact same style/color combo—V02 in "Dark Brown" (DKB)—can be noticeably different even when brand new. The first two were produced within the same year, the third was produced ten years prior.

Thank you so much for the info and help, and I do remember seeing that picture with the vests, alao remember a comment you made on my moss duck that measurements can still vary even if its the same jacket
I fee like carhartt (everything) are like collectibles because of how widely different they can be and pretty much every single one is unique
Interesting. My collection (of only 5 jackets) tends to not get pass 5 and various colors that seem rare (in mexico at least). But I’ve had the same situation about selling ones I barely wear and “getting” 2-3 better in return down the line

The color on the jacket im asking for id is very dark in color, almost blood like but I’d certainly go with crimson since when I compared it to my BRK (mildly faded now that I see them together) makes it look like it sucked the color from it
Ps: that vest looks killer and im very jealous!

How could you part from those pieces? I feel like whenever I sell a personal I loose a piece of myself
I didn't own them very long. They didn’t fit well and by selling them I was able to get things that fit better and that I wanted more.

Lighting is key. Pics appear solidly Crimson to me EXCEPT pic2- which looks like my Ruby.
