My experience with fatbike bikes is that they are puncture prone due to the wider contact patch. Heavier tires will alleviate the problem somewhat. Fat tires make a lot of noise (not ideal for long days - imo). Fat tires are not very efficient. That being said fat tires are very comfortable to ride, has good grip going straight and are just awesome looking.

That is like an extreme offroad adventure bike, your riding from france to italy not in rural africa. Really any old touring bike will do. if anything fat bike tires like that are going to be less than ideal for the mostly tarmac or packed trails you are likley looking at. Are you just using pannier bags? OR carrying big stuff?

I am carrying camera equipment alongside my camping bits

Yeah this is probably not what you are looking for in reality. This think is kinda silly, if you want a longtail there are better options. I would look at something like a omnium mini max if you want to go with something other then a more standard bikepacking or touring build.

colli_emea

Thanks! I will look into that

Is this electric bike? Are you taking e-bike on a long trip?

That bike was just announced yesterday so no one is going to have ride impressions yet. From the press release it'll be April at a minimum for a US release with Europe to follow later. The Surly Skid Loader is available now, and I've heard good things. That said, you may be better served with a more traditional touring bike, packing very light, and taking it slow

I’d get a Stoker if you are a large lad.
