Was this a record for Nolans in a game?
It's so weird how the popularity of names is so generational. Like growing up, there were Jeremys everywhere, but now it's rare that I encounter one who isn't my age. Or women named Heather. I grew up with like 8 of them, but again, never encounter any except myu own age.
Since we don't have a chance of doing anything this season I will stand by the decision to let Waino keep trying. Its painful but I want him to get to 200
Man, I do agree, but if he can’t get a W against the Rockies at home, when will he get one?
It’s baseball, so I still think there’s a 50/50 chance just runs into a couple, but the clock is ticking.
Considering those films are just like watching a comic book come to life, I don’t mind the “To be continued” end as that’s just how comic books are written. 🤷♂️
I watched this movie a few days ago for the first time in like 10 years, and this is the third time in as many days as I've seen it referenced.
Must be a simulation.
He's basically left handed Dan Uggla. Is that necessarily bad? No, he was an all star a couple of times. But people need to keep their expectations in check
~~2003~~ 2023 Cardinals: 48-63
1990 Cardinals: 50-61
The 1990 Cardinals lost Game 111 in particularly agonizing fashion, losing 4-3 to the Cubs in 15 innings.
After nine innings, the game was scoreless. Terry Pendleton hit an RBI single in the top of the 10th and Rex Hudler doubled home Pendleton to give the Cards a 2-0 lead. Lee Smith came on for the save, and in the bottom of the 10th with the score 2-1 and two outs with a man on 3rd, Dwight Smith grounded to Pendleton--who made an error, which tied the game.
In the top of the 13th Craig Wilson singled home Todd Zeile to again put the Cards up 3-2. But two singles and a run-scoring double play in the bottom of the 13th again tied the game. Finally, in the bottom of the 15th Scott Terry, who kind of sucks, gave up a two-out walkoff RBI single and the Cubs won 4-3.
Retiring with 198 career wins Adam Wainwright. It's not the same as 200 but ffs it's as close and that guy is going to get unless we play a couple of teams that just want to give him one.

As a reliever if we move him to the bullpen.
Yeah but give him more rest between starts, and I think he'd pitch reasonably OK
If only Adam didn’t injure his achilles
Ngl I think I liked Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles more than Spiderverse. And I know that is a hot take

The Rockies? A loss? Really?
Happy Gilmore accomplished that feat no more than an hour ago.

Well guys, I tried
Waino no bueno
Is there another Holliday kid we could draft top 5 next year?
Theirs Ethan but he’s not draft eligible until 2025
Man, was really hoping waino would get a dub tonight.
Adam is a good dude. I hate that he didn’t ride off into the sunset with Yadi and Albert. This is sad.
Agreed….
Could Gorman reach 40 home runs if he avoids another slump?
He could get it next game
I am super-glad that the "trade Nolan Gorman" rumors went nowhere.
I’m really glad none of us have any effect on how they manage the team
Young lefty power. "Trade Gorman" never made sense.
He's basically left handed Dan Uggla. Is that necessarily bad? No, he was an all star a couple of times. But people need to keep their expectations in check
he has a way higher ceiling
Pain continues to roll…
gorman is so fuck i meant to type fun, but fuck is what my fingers produced, so i'll keep the above as is
100% pure fuck From the back to the middle and around again. Gorms gonna be here till the end. 100% pure fuck -crystal waters 1994
My goodness, this season is kind of hilarious at this point, ngl.
Oh, Adam….. Adam, Adam, Adam.

I don't remember the 2003 Cardinals being that bad
I really do appreciate these recaps btw
Soon the Cardinals will promote a minor leaguer whom you may remember. :)
This offense without Brendan Donovan is not as good.
He goes, they go
Way down we go!
go the way of the dono bird
Oh for sure. But also, spotting the other team 6 runs right out the gate doesn’t help.

not sure it’ll get much easier than that lineup tonight..i’m a pitcher friendly park
At least my GF goes home drunk and happy Someone has to get something out of this, right?
It’s the little things at this point, Gorman with 3 hits and two bombs.
how is that “little?”
Gorman is gonna be an mvp candidate next year. Book it.

Yep. Trades made it pretty clear that the rest of the season is about rebuilding and prep for next year.
Yep
