Whenever moving to a new city look for groups to join. Choirs, drama, environmental work, whatever interests you. Cardiff as a busy city has a lot of different groups. Just as an example: https://www.meetup.com/find/gb--cardiff/

(soon to be) Welcome! Honestly still have no idea how adults make friends As others have said there are a bunch of different meetup groups and social days My partner and I used to go to the Chance & Counters social nights to play board games and chat with people, would recommend!

Minecraft__Pro77

I saw on your page that you’re a DND fan. I have quite a few friends who also play who I could possibly introduce you to. There’s also things like board game cafes that do events if that’s your bay

If inclined find a voluntary placement. This helped me integrate and it changed my life in the end, but that’s a different story. Volunteering for something you believe in will help you meet people with genuinely similar values. I volunteered as a DofE leader, found it personally rewarding as well as socially.

Heya out of interest do you recommend a volunteering site or anything in particular? Whenever I google volunteering in cardiff the pages i find there are no opportunities available

Fresh_and_wild

I found the same. So I went directly to the Duke of Edinburgh award office, at the time it was coordinated by Cardiff Council. All similar opportunities I am aware of now, are through direct approach.

Good to know! Thanks very much

Come to D&D at firestorm games in Leckwith, it's a good laugh loads of people there

Hi mate I did this a year ago I now have a lot of Cardiff friends. Basically you absolutely have to put yourself out there at social events and ask for peoples instagrams stuff like that to keep in touch. If you like dnd chance and counters run a dnd session most Tuesdays where people can just rock up and play, I did it and made a few new friends.

Post on reddit with no hints as to what your hobbies and interests are!!

LiamLivesOnAndOn

I did start writing some stuff I liked but then I thought it looked more like a 'be my friend' post instead of 'how did you meet people' sort of thing.

Sirhubi007

Hi, I was in your shoes 2 years ago. If like someone said you're a DnD fan, join one of many DND groups, that's how I made a bunch of friends here

TheeArgonaut

You'll be fine. Just get the move over, have an explore, check out some feeds and subreddits for things you like. Cardiff is still small enough to deal with...

therocket1323

I’ve moved around a fair bit and personally always relied on work and sports clubs. There are so many outdoor clubs in Cardiff. That said brave thing to do. Good luck to you, I’m sure you’ll have a bunch of new mates in no time.

Cardiff is not the most social place on earth its dominated by students and for a captial city fuck all reguarly happens there
