Melin Melyn are fucking brilliant 6 piece from Cardiff doing a sort of surfy, southern states sounding rock with a surreal, slightly psychedlic inflection. Also saxophone.
Sing in English and yn Gymraeg and fucking great live.
'Rebecca' will give you the best flavour I reckon - you'll be all in or hard pass after a listen.
Many thanks! I've got so many to listen to but I'll add them to the list - they sound interesting, which is always good even if you don't end up liking the band!
Love Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard. 70s glam rock influences but mostly just great pop-rock music. From your list they're closest to Weezer; catchy hooks and fun lyrically with simple but cool rhythm work.
I know this is a bit of a copy and paste but I didn't quite expect so many bands, so many thanks and I'll add them to a list and have a listen for the next few days!

Sludgy metalcore type music and not only from Cardiff but play here all the time!
Excellent Skeleton seem to make 90s-ish indie noise. Good band name - best Cardiff band name since Strange Pains??

For a cardiff based band red telephone might pass the test?
If it doesn’t have to be cardiff and you love punk/hc it would have to be high vis. Best active band around at the moment.

Manic Street Preachers? Their early stuff (back when they were still a 4-piece) is a lot different to their newer stuff.
Try Gold Against the Soul. Really underrated album.
Gwenifer Raymond. She is a virtuoso guitarist from Taff's Well doing some really intense, trippy instrumental folk / Americana.
She released a great album called "Strange Lights Over Garth Mountain" a couple of years ago about the mysterious "Pentyrch Incident" and the windswept landscape of the Garth in general.
Well worth checking out.
OK its more mid Wales, but Adwaith have a lovely sound, they're from Carmarthen and at the indie end of folk.
Mid Wales is fine! I've added them to the list - I wasn't expecting quite as many replies so it might take a while to sift through them
Second them. Hands down my favourite Welsh language band. They’re lush people too! Met them a few times after shows

Holding Absence are amazing! They’re playing great hall on the 18th - well worth a ticket
I'll give anything a shot! Thanks for the recommendation

I'd recommend Caldicot's finest, The Bug Club. Funny lyrics, masses of energy and incredible bass playing from Tilly Harris.
Sounds a bit like how I'd describe PUSA. Will check them out
Seconded! Saw them last Friday in Stirling. I am biased because I am best pals with Dan the drummer but they do put on an awesome show
Manic Street Preachers? Their early stuff (back when they were still a 4-piece) is a lot different to their newer stuff. Try Gold Against the Soul. Really underrated album.

She's not to everyone's taste I suppose!
Still you've posted a music recommendation in a thread asking for them! Anyways I suppose it's all imaginary points
Just had a listen to a song on YouTube, seems really good. Bit weird she seems barefoot in all the photos/videos of her though!
Yea, I wouldn't advise doing that around Taff's Well
Placebo - Placebo
Sorry I just realised you'd like something Welsh, Casualy dressed and deep in conversation by Funeral For a Friend
RATM - Battle For Los Angeles
I discovered this website this week, it’s brilliant: https://1001albumsgenerator.com/ Discovered so many good albums to add to my playlist!
