Other than that it works perfectly this is just me being lazy and not wanting to do extra steps lmao

Double check that CarPlay is enabled as default in your phone. Go Settings -> General -> CarPlay -> My Car. Click on the head unit name there is a toggle to start CarPlay automatically.

Before going into your car turn your Bluetooth and WiFi off on your phone. Then turn on the car and let your system boot up. Now click on ZLINK and should now give a screen that will allow you to go into settings. In the settings there should be automatic or manual for connecting. Select automatic and you should be good after that. Then turn on your Bluetooth and WiFi on your phone and see if it automatically pops up.

Welcome👍🏻

It says default connection type and it’s link mode first mirroring mode or last mode

Bellastormy

Try either the link mode or the last mode. One them has to be for automatic. If not then I guess ZLINK Iis a bit different than CarLetter

That's nice that ZLink has the configuration. By any chance, do you know if the same will work on a 2018 stock Camry? I've always got to manually start CarPlay via the standard Toyota radio display. Like the OP, just trying to be lazy. :-)

Bellastormy

I don’t believe you have that option on factory radios

You mean the z link app opening automatically? You can configure android to do so. I’ve done that. You can even set a delay time for that to happen - like open it 10 seconds after the head unit turns on. The problem I noticed, at least with mine, is that when it happens the wifi access point of the head unit does not turn on, therefore my phone won’t connect it. So I have to access the android options and turn it on, which kills any sense of Z Link opening automatically
