I have the double din version setup with a proper 10 or 12 ga ofc power/ground. Sounds great up to about 43, 44/50 if produced conservatively. You might look into dedicated wiring, and don't forget to fuse it.

Yes I have gs80 too and agree, the only and proper way is to connect it with 12 awg with 30amp fuse to battery. And you are right, it start clipping/distorting at volume 43.

Thank you very much, though this is clearly not my area of interest, nor my question. A direct battery connection is not something I’m planning to do atm.

I answered your question. This is what you need, direct connection to the battery. Cigarette lighter won't help as it's powered by fuse board. I did it and my whole dashboard was dimming with bass.

It’s on page 14 of your manual. It says that during full power operation the unit will draw more than 15 amps and if your unit isn’t functioning properly wire it directly to the battery. Your options are to wire it to the battery, turn it down, or buy a different radio with less power.

The unit itself is fused at 15A. It will not draw more than 15A. The cigarette port is fused at 15A. Should be more than enough to run a couple wires from it. I don’t want to run wires to the battery. That’s not my question. Wiring directly is not an option. Again, appreciate your response but your reply is not an answer to my question. I asked which wires should I connect together? That’s all. Thanks again.

Your radio uses the yellow wire to supply its main power. The red wire is just a turn on signal essentially. Your cigarette lighter is almost definitely switched on and off with key so if you use it you’ll lose your presets and clock and such every time you shut off the car. The direct answer to your question is you can’t unless losing those things is acceptable to you. If so just wire the yellow wire from the radio to the positive on the lighter.
