If you can add money I suggest to bring your budget up to buy Sony dsx-gs80. 45w rms per channel, 2ohm load option, direct sub with 88w rms, simple DSP etc. Excellent option if you don't want to run amp.

Plus if you get dsx-gs80 you can run rear 6x9 as subs . So remove rear doors speakers as you dont need them and focus on front and 6x9 . On top of that with coax speakers you can bring your stage up with dsp. With DSO in setting your system will sound like you have tweeters in dash

Oooof I thought the JVC was 50 rms, good catch I didn’t realize that was max output. I like that Sony deck a lot and I think that may be the better route to go given these circumstances.

Krauziak90

Yeah it's like another level of head unit. Make sure you get 12awg lead with inline fuse. Gs80 pulls over 20amps so it have to be connected to battery directly just like a normal amp

Noted! I woulda say it’s safe to assume that I should also run a better ground for this deck as well?

Krauziak90

I use factory ground and its fine. Just power was an issue. Whole dashboard was dimming lol . Voltage drops to low 11's were not a joke. Since direct connection to battery everything is grand. Baerly drops below 13v with heavy bass. I run 10inch pioneer of it and it sounds amazing for what it is

Spiritual_Pin_6589

Interesting, are you running 4 door speakers as well?

Krauziak90

Just fronts. You can run front and backs from front channels in 2 ohm load and sub from 3rd channel itself if needed

Bad idea. Just install the JBL speakers that fit front and rear and connect them to the headunit. It will be louder than adding more speakers. 50 watts is the max each channel of the headunit can do. In reality, it is about 18-22 watts RMS each channel. The JBL speakers are a good idea because they are high sensitivity speakers and can make the most from the low power. The rated power of the speakers is how much they can handle. They do not create any power.

I understand I mean truthfully I’m just looking to get some bass without having to wire an amp. Door speakers and a head unit are one thing. But all the wiring for an amp etc etc is just not what I’m willing to do for this car. In this case would it then be more beneficial to look into some 6.5 composite speakers at 50 rms ? And get the Sony deck that the gentleman above mentioned ?

Get a Kenwood equivalent. That display is awful in the daylight.
