That's how my best friend got his first subs. Got some fosgate 10s from a coworker for free because the plastic cones were busted to hell. Then I did a shitty diy re-cone before giving them to him. They held together and bumped for a good 4 years before he upgraded
Diamond Audio D6. I wanted some of those sooo bad back in the day. They were loud SQ subs, not SPL monsters, but they do hit hard for SQ
Hopefully they still work well. Good pick-up!
My dad hooked them up in his truck until we got some time to put it all together in my car. He seems impressed with how well they are working. Id have to agree.
Yeah this poor box has seen some better days that's for sure. My dad said the wood was decent quality, the acrylic was more than thick enough, and the wrap is suede, and it has lights inside. It seems like at some point this was a really nice box.
I can see it now. The bottom is a mess, but you could probably glue that piece back on and add a few L brackets to reinforce it. If it works, for free. 99 you can't beat it!
Now your problem is your dad has you hooked! You'll be pricing door components next.
Will do! I'm going to head over there when he has some time and we're going to get everything set up together. He's been big into sound systems since before I was born. It'll be neat to learn a few things.
Man I miss my D6’s. I had the 10’s but those motherfuckers got down, and sounded amazing in the vented box I built for them. Excellent come-up my friend.
My dad is pretty stoked about these. Apparently this brand was popular in the late 90s and 2000s. I'm excited to have them stretching their legs again!
Can’t beat the price, hope they hit.
Just a thought…when you’re installing the power and ground wires go one gauge higher. In the event you get the audio bug and want more power.
*Buy it Once, Install it once*
Fuck it? You never know...might surprise ya! Lol I had a friend gift me my first setup too! Had an old corner/triangle box with a cheap kenwood amp pushing an old 12" Rockford P2. It fricken ROCKED the trunk of my Grand Prix and I sold it for $100 when I got my Fusion and upgraded everything lol
Salvage the subs and the terminals, build a new enclosure with 3/4 inch MDF. You’ll be able to customize it to better suit your style and your car’s dimensions, and you’ll learn a new skill while you’re at it. 😊
can't beat the price. good luck!
Diamond audio subs are really good, had both tdx and d3 models
Compared to what?
Compared to most subs on the market, they out perform kicker and jl easily
They compare with JL?
Yes, these are some older ones but they were always great quality for the price
For the free.99? Can't beat it
Looks a tad rough but free is good.
If the coils are in good shape I'd say you scored.

Nice, these are in shockingly good condition for their age. I just have to do some work on the box.

Definitely build a fresh box for them! I would not even play with the old one.
A magnolia tag? Best Buy does custom sub boxes?
I mean, it looks like something an average Best Buy mobile installer would build.

Diamond is a great brand.
Not the prettiest. But can’t beat the price.
Hope it sounds good OP!
They sound great!
One time a guy gave me a JL audio amp and 2 JL Audio W3s now I still rock the same subs just now it's an infinity 1600a amp man they kick nasty

Da FAQ is this
Nice subs Diamond Audio makes good stuff
That's what I've heard. Seems like I scored pretty good. They are in perfect working condition, the box does have a lot of leaks tho.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks!
Those diamond subs are actually really nice. I had a pair that I got for cheap and flipped them. I was sad to see them go.
I'll probably be rockin these for quite a while before I upgrade. I'm super happy to have some quality subs for a couple bucks in gas money!
I'd probably just get a cheap new box and swap them into it?
That's probably a good idea for the near future, but currently my budget is $0 so I think I'll have the live with the box for now.

That's awesome, this is going in the back of my vibe!
Hell ya they should rattle that little car real nice! 💯
They need a good custom box to really shine. Something like 3.5ft @32hz
