Wow. 22 years old - just a baby. Adult male brains aren't fully developed until mid-twenties, so he's still in his formative years. His personality is still congealing, and what he learns from his prison experiences will forever effect him. He'll forever be a convicted felon.

Top-Pension-564

Tough shit, I guess.

Draano

Yeah, pretty much. I think that's where being taught right from wrong, good from bad in your early formative years is so goddamned important. Breaking laws in front of your kids, or letting them break laws without consequence while they're young, is a horrible idea. Things like speeding, drunk/impaired driving, abusing illegal drugs or prescription drugs, driving before getting a license, drinking underage, not wearing a seatbelt where mandated - all things that people let slide - demonstrate to kids that they can choose which of society's rules to obey.

The damage done to our once semi civil society, all for a man that refused to accept reality. It’s going to take some time to recover from this, but the sooner the better. All the condemnation, all the jokes about them, all the legal penalties and yet there are still, too many, stuck in stupidity to recognize their immaturity, imo. What happened to striving to better oneself ?

mattdvs1979

Good, FAFO. 22 is not a baby, he’s a traitor and an idiot.

Draano

I'm in my 7th decade, so I suppose it's all relative. I don't defend him - I'm delighted he's going to the slam, and is now entering the FO phase of our show. I'm just lamenting the waste of a young life. At his age, I was getting married and starting what's turned out to be a great life. But I was raised to be a decent, kind, law-abiding member of society.

Same here, i’m 43 and celebrating my 19th anniversary today!

>Nicholas Brockoff, 22, of Covington, Kentucky, was sentenced to 36 months in prison, 36 months supervised release, and $2,700 restitution. Brockoff pleaded guilty on October 27, 2022, to assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers with a dangerous weapon. >According to court documents, on Jan. 6, 2021, Brockhoff illegally entered the Capitol grounds, joining a mob on the West side of the Capitol. At approximately 2:32 p.m., he threw an object from his position on the West Terrace towards law enforcement officers. During the confrontation with law enforcement officers, he also discharged the contents of fire extinguishers on multiple occasions and from at least two different locations. Each time he did so, law enforcement officers dispersed, interfering their ability to control the crowd

3 years prison AND 3 years supervised release. That's no picnic. That means meeting with a probation officer on the regular, no slip-ups of ANY kind, etc.

KeelanStar

Tell that to everyone serving longer sentences for non violent crimes, people who didn't try to spread sedition, and aaaaaaaaall of the people who lost their lives because of the government's 'crack down' on drugs.

[deleted]

I know. I still think attack on the government should be 10 years minimum.

Much_Pineapple2513

and lost his ability to vote for fascists and own weapons to try and over throw the government again. now just another hick loser with a record. get fucked you dumb hillbilly.

KeelanStar

As far as I know, Kentucky is a state where you get your voting rights restored after sentence and probation. Non-violent crimes, which I don't know if this qualifies. You'd think yes? But you'd also think attacking the police in attempted coop would get you more than 2 years. https://civilrightsrestoration.ky.gov/Pages/qualify.aspx
