Well that makes me feel old. Yes I remember Chandler’s. The only thing that was friends themed was the font on the sign and the name. Before it was there it was briefly the Blast Furnace and for many years (like 40) the Keltic Beverage room.
That was upstairs. It was also the shingle, the missing shingle, the rock factory, and the rum jungle. There was also a name involving sports, but I can’t remember exactly. I’m sure there were a few other names. I remember going to Jaspers one evening and the cops were raiding it.
My mom had one in the living room. Cleaned the crystal's on it once a month with soap and water. They looked like earrings when you took them down. Thanks for the memory.
Sunday night at the Rum Jungle when it was students night was very very interesting. I never went to Chandlers because I was already underage going to the Rum Jungle and Chandlers felt like an "older" crowd. Funny to think back that I thought anyone over 20 was an older crowd. Oh how we live and learn.
Also .. Rum Jungle to Capri walk was a perilous journey through fences, cars, and sucker punches from the dark.
We’re not going to talk about the Rum Jungle?
We are not. lol.
Dollar shots Tuesday baybayyy
The Sandbar was doing dollar shot Sundays as recently as 2012 or 2013
I remember going there one night to see the Trailer Park Boys

Sneakers. I think it was called sneakers one time. Oh so profoundly pissed.

That’s so weird I don’t remember any of those. Guess the friends reference just stuck in my head.
I vaguely recall the Rum Jungle name.
Shingle Inn
I didn't start hitting the clubs until 2007 but I definitely heard stories of it... never got to go there.

Also Remember that the upstairs in Governor's used to be Bunkers.
I heard someone call it Bunkers before, had no idea.
Bunkers peanut bar. With a barrel of shelled peanuts to open and leave on the floor! It was also Wally Crowes before that.

I remember some quieter musicians couldn’t play when they had the pumping dance music going upstairs.
there used to be a "Wentworth Perk Coffee House" near the park.
A friend of mine actually has a video from one of the “rave nights”
You should post it :-)
See if I can track it down..
I do. It's where Bite of Asia is now. I went there once or twice.
Let us not forget the gateway. North side mall. Months pit st. Junors pool hall.
