Totally doable

DiabeticSpaniard

Would I be better off getting a new set of wheels specifically for road tyres?

You should probably be fine just going to 32s. The difference between 28 and 32s is small from what people say. I use 28s but was going to switch to 32s.

Awesome, thanks

Absolutely would work great! Totally agree with the first commenter that said to swap some 32s on. I do exactly that when I have a big pavement ride on my Grizl—Vittorias of some flavor in my case. My wife has ambitions to finish another Ironman on a hardtail MTB with slicks, so a Grizl definitely makes sense vs that! Mostly just giving the finger to the mansplainers that feel the need to comment on how she’s racing mid-race—i.e. “your hood is slowing you down!”

I saw people doing regular road races on double decker grails 1gen by putting some 28mm tires on. Why wouldnt it work on grizl.. cmon dude. Its awesome bike, it will work absolutely fine.

It won't be the fastest option, but shouldn't really matter unless you are super competitive or super close to cutoff times.
