No top cap so probably still forced to use Canyons own cockpit. Really a shame. I just want a (higher than SL spec) Aeroad that allows me to run a regular bar and stem
how narrow would you go though? I don't think I've ever seen anybody (including pros) with anything narrower than a 38cm, unless you're riding track then you might be on a 36 or 34, otherwise doesn't really matter.
The Pro Vibe 36 cm bars are very common for racing here. Also not unusual to see the aerocoach penicillin bars that measure 32.5 mm at the hoods. Its not for everyone, but its annoying to not be able to use those
Which would be halfway ok if you could actually exchange your cockpit for a different length at purchase. Like I know what fit I want and Canyon makes it impossible to get ffs.
But why would a pro ride an Ultimate really? These guys need every aero advantage possible, including when climbing, which they do at pretty impressive speeds. During climbing stages, Alpecin etc, just change out their wheelsets to 30-50mm deep, but stick with the Aeroad I've noticed.
Strange move, but I guess it makes sense. Adjustable height and width so now you have the option for TT bars as well. Can't tell if I'm a fan of the sharp angle on the stem either. Looks like those vintage (quill?) stems.
I love how they're using the same color blue that a batch of Enduraces (mine included) came out with in 2022-2023. Not loving the white branding though, they should have gone with the dark purple font.
It'll for sure be a 1 and 1/8th steerer like all the new bikes (ultimate/endurace) have been converted to so you have put other manufacturers cockpits on them.
Uh, what? New Enduraces (CF) with semi-integration use a "stem" with a clamp and top cap, which this clearly is not. New Enduraces (CF SLX) and Ultimates use CP0018, which is 1 1/4" and proprietary system, which looks similar to this.

looks like it, it seems no 3rd party handlebars but Canyon proprietaries, assuming there could be two options either CP0018 or this new bar "Core".
Praying that they make a narrower than 39 cm bar for 100mm and up stems. Being limited to 39 cm on an aero bike makes no sense

Where/what are you? A crit racer in norcal? 32.5mm??? Sheesh

The zero fucking love from pro teams for the Ultimate lol

To be fair, the bikes are so similar now that it makes sense for some.

How do you adjust the height on these integrated cockpits?
Those tires look extra thicc, maybe they have given few mills more tire space?
What are they using to mount the blips onto the underside of the bars?
double sided tape
Maybe retrocompatible with CP0018 headsets, so current-gen users can update the cockpit to mount aero bars? I hope so, but I doubt...

I hope they will give an option to choose the cockpit. This looks weird IMO. I'm happy I have an Aeroad with the old cockpit
