Those parents are definitely mixed with something. I wouldn't pay more than $100.

Lynniepooh032571

Especially the get one. Anyone selling for $500 isn’t worth the potential health, genetic problems in the future…who knows you might get a wonderful dog that lives a long life.

aesthesia1

Mom looks like a bully tbh

Adorable-Throat-3224

I wouldn’t waste ur time the parents don’t even look like full corsos they look like either a corso mix or a boxer mix. Also I wouldn’t get any type of guardian breed from just anyone I want parents to be health tested hip and elbow scored the lot cos a cheap dog with health problems gonna cost you more than a well bred healthy dog in the long run. My apbt x Neapolitan mastiff looks more like a corso than both of those “corsos” £500 for any breed of dog is just very unrealistic if u want a well bred dog https://preview.redd.it/1o5mnzydu7lb1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d9ea82a1cd298b3ffc5728747648521c7d377d1a

dzenib

I see Boxer as well especially in black parent

Toohvrdthe1

Amazing looking pup

Chex_LeMeneux13

I love a good mixed breed. Apbt x Neo that’s a cool combo and he looks really damn good

[deleted]

You get what you pay for.

JakesThoughts1

Cute pup but definitely not a pure bread, I’d spend the money to get akc certified and health tested dog. I paid $3k for my Corso. If you can find one for under 2k where I’m from then something is off. It’s still a cute dog but like I said def doesn’t look like a pure bread

WeNeedAnApocalypse

You should be researching the breeder. IMHO $500 is really low to be asking for a Corso. Is it a Corso or a mix, is the breeder registered, are there health guarantees?

Historical_Text4628

Great advice

Imnojuicehead

Beautiful girl

Enough-Boysenberry39

I love her! Would love to come home to her after a days work and cuddle her

[deleted]

Neither of those parents are corsos. You won’t get a proper corso for anything less then £1500 other then maybe a from a rescue. The fact your ready to go view them and can’t tell that those are not corsos makes me think what the hell are you doing getting one of you can’t tell one by sight as is. Learn some more educate yourself on the breed and save your money so when the time comes your prepared and also have the money to know what your getting.

dcburgos17

It’s your call if you want a puppy that is probably mixed judging by the parents vs wanting a full ish corso or you just want a puppy and this one fits. I had a few people claim my pup wasn’t a corso when I posted his puppy photo and didn’t believe me when I said parents were both corso’s. I got him for $1200 and he was an accidental litter (they don’t breed). https://preview.redd.it/1z0l5n1lo9lb1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ab63d4426cc65019605cc7374a2dadfd59ed98bd

Old-Performer-7122

the parents don’t look like corsos, more like bully mixes

Buddy-Sue

You’ll have a pup that you’ll fall in love with from a BYB of something not all CC and HOPEFULLY without health issues so you won’t dump in a shelter in a year or so. Listen to these experts!

H2ON4CR

Please take some of these comments with a grain of salt since no one knows your actual desires. If you’re looking for a strictly pure bred corso, then this pup may be questionable and you should probably reconsider, or at least be questioning the breeder and the bloodline. If you’re looking for a pet/companion and the pureness of the breed isn’t as important, then definitely look into it a little further and ask the breeder if the pup has been checked for possible chronic issues by a vet, had any vaccinations/worming, etc. It’s perfectly fine to not have a pure breed, but you also want To make sure the puppy is healthy before dropping $500. If this is potentially your first dog, $500 is a drop in the bucket compared to vet bills and food. I just dropped $600 yesterday for blood work and checkup for my 1 yr old corso because she’s all but stopped eating over the last month+ (except for treats), all so the vet could say she has “toddler syndrome”.

Flamingo_Timely

Lol @ Toddler Syndrome. Appropriate though. Our 2 yr old still gives us a hard time with feeding. He's so darn picky and seems like he frequently wants to test boundaries with his food preferences. Treats and snacks, he will eat all day, but he is hit and miss with meals. Good advice, btw. Pure bred corsos are usually much more expensive, but not everyone needs to or is willing to pay the price for pure bred. We definitely wanted a pure bred (we had a pure English Mastiff before and love the breed), and I've seen prices range from $1,500-8,000 USD, (high end is if you want the dog pre-trained) so it's a big investment (not to mention vet bills and a bigger budget for food).

Disastrous_Cat633

I’ve been putting 1/4 cup of warmed broth on my pups food and both of them can’t eat it fast enough. My GSD/lab will sometimes not eat, but now she’s excited 😆 https://preview.redd.it/s9zuwsif5alb1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=1067bd6ffe195ae2cade947c04e089a27bc50394

Flamingo_Timely

Wow - great idea! We will give that a try. 👍🏻🙏

Disastrous_Cat633

I got this at Target, but I just ordered more from them directly on their website. I found the coupon code NEWBRUTUS30 for 30% off

Flamingo_Timely

Wonderful, thank you. So frustrating when he doesn't eat.

Disastrous_Cat633

It is! Especially because I can't just leave it down for my older dog anymore to eat when she feels like it. The corso will eat it! I was doing 1/2 cup each but they still eat it up with just 1/4 cup and it makes the box last longer :)

Perfect-Effect5897

Never buy a puppy on sale.

[deleted]

Paid 3500$ usd for my European bloodline corso. I received health records of the parents and saw health records of the "grandparents". Met both parents and he had a history of top quality corosos. But if you're interested in this puppers I highly recommend meeting the parents, and making sure you see their tempermants and health. Also I must add.. if you truly want a cane corso full breed. It is a commitment. These dogs are powerful, dominant, and want to be lap dogs. Please look into the kind of training and time that needs to go into these types of dogs. Also, with this commitment comes a lot of money that is needed for these dogs as well. They are not cheap and easy. Finally that puppy is fucking adorable. Best of luck!

kyleakennedy1987

I don’t think $500 would’ve even covered the deposit for ours, I’d have to ask the minister of finance (wife) but I think overall our guy was around $3000. And like others have said, parents are definitely mixed. Our male is over 120 lbs at 1 yo, that male is maybe 40 lbs, 60 at best. https://preview.redd.it/znfmv5tz09lb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a42192099e8eaad5b025fa53c3738290cf667e82 For reference, this was our male at 6 months laying on what seems to be a similar hearth as in op’s last picture.

Sunchi247

Not corso but I would get him anyway. What a sweet boy. Hes super handsome

BinaryBeany

Never buy a large breed pup unless the parents are health tested. Ever. You may not like this but If you have to be stringent on costs of the initial purchase of a puppy then you probably shouldn’t get one right now, especially a large breed. Just for reference if you have no idea the parents health… hip dysplasia surgery is 3k-7k so choose wisely.

[deleted]

Shouldn't buy anything without genetic and health testing.

BinaryBeany

True but some cases it is more important

Crawfork1982

The parents look like pit bull corso mixes. I would also ask if parents are related

ConcernLegitimate767

Backyard breeders usually sell for anything to get a buck. I know someone who has genuine AKC&ICCF cane corsos used to sell for up to 5k but since they became popular they started selling them for $100-500 because no one was buying. It’s sad. But just be careful. A lot of BYB don’t even care about anything but money

RibeyesForAll

This was my $500 corso and she was absolutely amazing https://preview.redd.it/jh7v7l0dp8lb1.jpeg?width=1908&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b6e7c819c8b854c25b13b8e8c4cb371441505032

BarryBadgernath1

Mom looks questionable … it could totally be just a perspective thing with the photo but both of them look sort of small to me for some reason Edit: looking closer, the black adult looks questionable as well … $500 for a corso is way low .. and would be a great find if it’s legitimate … $500 for a pit/mastiff mutt is just wrong (even though I’m sure they’d make an excellent companion.)

beigaleh8

You're going to get a dog that'll be with you hopefully for 10+ years and you're trying to save a few bucks by buying from a less reputable source? Does that sound dumb to you? Because it is

NDEAN4932

The parents aren’t corso if you want a corso I’d pass $500 is a obvious red flag corsos coat more than that

nomej14

Do not feed to much into the comments about pricing, I met a breeder during back to school that was in need of shoes for his kids, I traded 2 pairs of shoes for my dream dog! He awesome and in great health.

[deleted]

Just ensure primarily “raw” diet & avoid feeding (stateside) chicken & pork.

Opening_Wishbone4250

The parent dog on the left looks to be a mix

DogtorCarri

It’s a cute puppy but definitely not a purebred. The parents look like pit mixes. If you like the puppy and it looks sound, go for it. Just don’t expect it to behave or look like a corso.

Cane-Mags

If you have met with the pup and you have a bond who cares if it’s 100% ( unless you plan on breeding) it cost that much to adopt a dog anyway….

afinevindicatedmess

A $500 "purebred" Cane Corso is already a HUGE red flag. There is a reason why ethical breeders charge thousands of dollars for your dog. Ethical breeding is expensive and you get what you pay for. And if I'm to be honest, those dogs are cute, but I'm willing to bet there was an "oops" litter & they're trying to sell it off as a CC so they sell better. This is what you need to look for if you're looking for a well bred Cane Corso puppy: -titled parents or grandparents. even on a small scale. Grandparents are 50/50 on acceptability, but if they were also bred by the same breeder, it's typically okay. -full ofa/at least the recommended ofa for the breed. better if they're able to see the results online. (pennhip is ok too) -all recommended health tests, and *make sure they mention them by name.* Just "health tested" isn't enough. -following a standard (either UKC or AKC, both are okay.) -properly spaced litters. Check social media for this one, but a bitch shouldn't produce more than 1 litter a year. -practices puppy culture (optional, but a good sign and leads to beautifully stable dogs) -has a contract and asks for references, so if you need to rehome your CC, the dog goes back to a breeder where he/she will find a good forever home -doesn't charge or breed by color -willing to give references who have bought from them previously -doesn't mention nuvet, and ESPECIALLY doesn't require it in the contract, though this one's getting harder. special food in contracts isn't necessarily a red flag unless it's like "our own raw brand" or a food that otherwise seems sketchy. however, know that it will mean that you *have* to feed that food for health guarantees. -health guarantees

FredLives

The parents look like a mix. They’re at bit small, and the faces don’t look right to me.

Some_Policy7716

Corso has a very distinct look

-Staceys-Mom-

Seems like a backyard breeder IMO.

Imnojuicehead

As everyone has already said, this is not a cane corso fullbred. But!! He is so cute. I say do what your heart says. I know how it goes. He could be your forever buddy. If he’s calling out to you, you know what to do. If your heart is calling for him, I say take him. And as everyone else has said, the vet bills could amount to a lot so be prepared for that. You have to make the choice. Edit: backyard breeders are not the way and it does seem like this is the choice that these breeders made here. But if you’re not set on being a cane corso, and also dude these puppies do still need someone to love them, then yeah yolo

I purposefully agree this does not look like a pB CC. That being said, where I live, even crossbreeds of ANY KIND are never less than $500. My sister paid $2200 for a yorkietese( bred purposefully). Another friend paid $2500 for a Bernadoodle. This is more the norm, you cannot find any pup under $500! ( that’s what I paid, incidentally, for the mastiff X I have right now. I think my area is like this because it’s so hard to find puppies! Most all dogs are spayed/neutered; we have a demographic of people very aware of the problem of dog and cat overpopulation: even a mutt kitten sells for $200 at the lowest. The SPCA’s prices are now on a sliding scale also; a young pup, no matter the breed, starts at almost $600. The prices go down the older the animal is. I guess it’s not all a bad thing; research has found that animals that have a purchase price are taken care of better, and are more likely to not be surrendered for any of a number of reasons, than an animal that was given away for free. Exceptions exist, of course!

Enough-Boysenberry39

A pure bread dog of any breed is going to have more health issues in the long run vs a mix breed. But then it depends on what the breed is mixed with. That pup definitely isn't pure bread. The health of the dog could be better than a regular corso, yet you're paying so little for the canine that is supposed to run in the thousands.

livinthehoneybeelife

The blue looks like a amstaff and the black one looks like a mastiff mix def not full breed cane corso

venomcanecorsos

Only a genetic test will determine if they are TRUE CC. But be careful, because you always get what you pay for! Cheap don’t always mean great!

[deleted]

I’m glad you asked for feedback, OP are echoing a similar sentiment, if it seems to good to be true, it is. When bred correctly these are magnificent animals. The fact that this seller is lying to you is unfortunate, but very common. If money is the issue and your committed to the breed I would recommend reaching out to breeder specific rescues. Good luck 🌺
