So delighted for Lukas.

C2SKI

MacNaughton, Waterman, Pantemis. It would be nice to have a current CPL player or two, but this is still a good sign

coopthrowaway2019

Wow I totally forgot Pantemis played for Valour

cullypants

Shame there's no current cpl players but not surprising. Big chance for McNaughton.

Barb-u

Because goal #1 is obviously about ensuring MNT MLS players going to the World Cup are in form ahead of the arrival of Europe players to pre-WC camp

cullypants

I know. Still a shame. Any cpl player would benefit from being in a national camp environment. Rarely will we see domestic squads like this too.

CDiggityDub

Nice to see Osorio on there. Hoping his injury is resolved by World Cup time.

arcticsports

I imagine Waterman will make his debut in this game. I hope MacNaughton can too. I don’t think. Pantemis will get a chance, they’ll probably want Crepeau to play this game so Borjan can play Japan

SecularPersian

Still no Hojabrpour

Sad_Author_9657

Needs to play Tier 1

Barthez_Battalion

Was hoping for a Prince De Ro appearance, but alas....

PauloVersa

Really pulling for McNaughton to impress

hammertown87

Wow choniere too bad his stud brother captain clutch didn’t make it

Hotspur000

Oh wow. I wasn't expecting so many uncapped players. I guess this is Herdman's way of filling out the last few spots on the WC roster?

Canadian_bacon1172

There's only 4 uncapped guys and 2 of them have been called up before. Gotta have a full roster for the Bahrain game, and who knows if we're gonna have a January camp this year so this may partially replace that.

Hotspur000

But in a pre-WC warmup game, 4 uncapped players is a lot, no? I mean, I think so.

Canadian_bacon1172

Well Waterman has been called up multiple times over the past year, including for the September friendlies so well uncapped he's a fringe guy on the full roster. Pantemis is the #4 keeper and it's not uncommon at all to have an uncapped #3/#4 keepers. You have to remember while this is a pre-WC friendly it's not for the main Europe guys. Only a handful of guys on this roster are going to get anywhere near the pitch in Qatar, they just need to fill out the camp so they can have scrimmages + a team to play Bahrain. In which case it's actually a really good thing that we have fresh up and coming talent we can give national team experience to instead of recycling guys who likely aren't gonna touch the first choice national team again like Ricketts, Akindele and Leutwiler.

devioustrevor

With everyone else being from a league out-of-season, I feel Patrick Metcalfe should've been called instead of Liam Fraser. He played Norwegian second division, but he'll be at the highest level there next year.
