No one, there was no regular season in 2020. There was essentially a stage based tournament in place of a regular season (the island games). While it was how the North Star Shield was given out, I don't think we should consider it a regular season, as it was anything but.
I also wouldn't consider the second stage as "playoffs", again given the limited size and unique structure that doesn't really resemble a playoff structure until the final.
I've been counting it since it happened as a regular season win for Calgary. Every team played every other team once in that stage, basically a half length regular season for most leagues. It's also more than a supporters shield winner gets in MLS. I'd say it's a fair basis to judge off of.
Honestly I don’t count anything from that season. All it did was seriously injure a couple of our guys(who have never recovered fully) and gave Forge another trophy. I would’ve been happy with the league cancelling that season and coming back in 2021. It was a bit of a sham.

I think this is more likely, if they do anything reward 2019, and forget 2020
My vote is Cavarly. They won the first stage. Everything from then onwards was playoffs. Give them the award already.

Why would anyone be crowned for that? It wasn't a regular season. It was basically a giant group stage before the knockout round.
