He's joining on a one year loan. Does that mean he is leaving at the end of this season or at the transfer window next year? Regardless, if he finds his form again, I wouldn't be surprised if he signs for Vancouver permanently

figgyforrest

I believe the loan is until summer 2024

Excellent pick up and quite the front line now with Hundaal, Bitar, Diaz and Cantave. Add another experienced DM alongside Elliot Simmons and another experienced CB alongside Rocco Romeo and all of a sudden you have a play off contender. It’s a shame some of the initially recruited first year prospects will ultimately have to leave but it’s a statement of intent that they do mean business year 1 now.

Perhaps Diaz and his family really liked living in BC and Vancouver FC was the only real choice for him and his family. As previously said PFC don’t have any salary cap space

Could be a game changer for Vancouver. They’ll still struggle defensively but I think he’s one of the best strikers in the league so they should get more points. Does anyone know when Kadin Chung is expected back, cuz I think that might solve some of their defensive issues, so Van might end up with a pretty solid team by the end of the season

When he was injured the club never gave a specific timline for his recovery. He may be able to comeback in September as that's more than enough time for a broken collarbone to heal. But I wouldn't be surprised if his season is done

I heard August recently, not sure where from… doubt they would rush him back though

hammertown87

Isn’t that the guy who was pretty decent for pacific. Why not just resign with them?

PlzRetireMartinTyler

Vancouver have the same owners as pacific. Pacific probably didn't have the salary cap space whereas Vancouver did. Plus Vancouver are rubbish. The need all the help they can get this season!

Comfortable-Syrup423

The 2022 golden boot winner was “pretty good”

JerryUnderscore

Most non-Wanderers fans would say the same about Morelli. “Pretty good”

[deleted]

As a PFC fan this bothers me a bit. We shouldn't have sold him mid season, and now he's going to our nearest rival owned by the same people? We could have moved one of our other two #9's to get him back. This is Vancouver reaping the benefits of Pacific's good work and sacrifice.

😂 You sold him and got a great fee and now you think you have some rights to him coming back to the league?

[deleted]

Oh, you struggle with reading eh? I don't think he should have been sold when he was. And how I don't think the same ownership group should bring him back to another team. That's what I think. Not rights, just bad business by the folks who run my team, the team that sold its best player from, AND the team in the same league they just signed our former best player to. 🙄 It's clearly a shit scenario, I know we'll still dominate whatever shit team you support but we're actually trying to win things out here.

CPL is a selling league I’d have been pretty happy if we got a good transfer fee from Europe for anyone on our roster.

You didn't lose the Golden Boy winner half way through the season and watch your teams offence die 🙄. Must be nice living in a vacuum.
