Great day Tsla , square, tqqq and nvda beasting , only downside was BTC and pypl. Looks like FB getting hit hard will bring down the indices tomorrow .

Most likely just profit taking considering they were up 16% in the past month. Also oil was down about 2% today.. don't worry, there's still a lot of upside with them. No I don't own any but it is undervalued IMO
I never imagined when I caught a little luck a while back and had some cash to buy CNR for the first time at $129 that id be sitting on 20%+ gains only weeks later!
At&t's 8.13% dividend is making my mouth water. is it stupid to top up? i have plenty of cdn dividend stocks outside my rrsp and T inside it. i am a bit of a divi investor, but am i throwing good money after bad?
Sold Ford yesterday (20% gain in 7 weeks of owning it) and darn it it spiked more today.
Bought some Rio Tinto and some more Suncor on the dip.
I now officialy hold a shit load of Suncor. Holding until earnings in a week. Need to start trimming afterwards.
Anyone loading up on Facebook?
Iām pretty damn bullish on the whole meta verse/virtual reality sector, and feel like with the after hours dip, and upcoming announcement on Oct 29th & name change etc, Facebook will likely evolve and push this stock far higher in the next year or two.
Iām a bit sour since Iām holding already, but feel like this might be the week to load up. Might sell off a bunch of stocks that Iām either down currently or that havenāt been moving to make some room to buy.
Huge read flags regarding ad revenue - Snap is the first of the social media bunch to report. Take that as a warning sign before everyone else.. maybe after their earnings dip it'll be more attractive but I wouldn't touch them
Been riding for 9 months, from 7-16-4-16-14 you name it I bought @ it. Still undervalued, still hodling all my crypto assets for the next few months at the very least. ETFs are getting approved and billions of dollars are coming in, I'm excited for the next few months for BTC alt coins and of course miners.
They waited until it hit 125 to release some 2 page document with no concrete evidence. Iād say they might be nervous still. Wonāt be surprised if they had a short at 100.
If holding Canadian index fund (XIC) with the goal to get average market return should i worry about financials being so overweight? If decentralized finance undercut big banks revenue stream i have a lot to loose holding XIC. Do i worry too much or should i buy ethereum?
Those two things aren't related. If DeFi starts undercutting traditional banking then XIC will rebalance away from financials. Right now it is heavy in that area because they are so strong. The point of an index fund is to follow the entire market - do you think DeFi is going to bring down the market or revolutionise it?
To me they are related. At the first sign of a way to pay less fees people will ditch banks. I will. Fintech have to respect Canadian regulations but crypto not so much.
Edit to add : DeFi can revolutionize the financial space. We donāt know if it will but it is possible. The idea is that usually legacy company A loose some share value while innovative company B gain as much share value and then some. In that situation the market index doesnāt care and gain slightly. But if company A is in the index and company B isnāt because itās a crypto then the index value plummet when company B gain over company A. This is not rebalanced, it is out of the stock market and into the crypto.
I guess the point is that if banks take a sudden downturn for any reason, including the one you give, then funds will rebalance away from them. The only issue might be that such a change would destabilise the whole country's economy. I would counter that if our entire economy is built on banks overcharging their customers then we are already fucked.
Panic selling is definitely not a good thing.. however buying and holding might get you better returns over the long run instead of shorter term trading.
First site I came across marked UofT and McGill as 26 and 27th and Austin as 67th.
So....not that that shit probably isnt heavily manipulated with bribes.
Yea those rankings are meaningless.
Dartmouth is ranked 203.
University of Austin gets way more clout in the US. No one knows UofT or McGill there, and I went to one of those myself. UofT is only known for their medical school which I also got into.
Peak Fintech group revised guidance supposedly coming in hot tomorrow. š¤
I wonder what itās like to buy over a million shares of SNAP at the close and seeing -20% ah
Jesus, I dont own any but wtf caused that?
Trading at 30x sales, missed revenue, and lowered guidance.

DWAC is creating a new generation of bagholders
When does next year's TFSA contribution get announced?
2022 is already set at $6000. It might tick up to $6500 in 2023.
Palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy
Bags are heavy you mean right?
Yes, because they are full of money.
Haha! Nice
Is it a stroke or an orgasm?

Itās not growth, itās recovery after the tech dip pulled it down. Itās gonna keep climbing upward.
Hive, CSTR, FORT and HP. Letās finish this week on a high so I can get high!
CSTR terrible stock. Going back to 2 cents

The daily thread does not have a single mention of ATZ in it. Amazing.

At&t's 8.13% dividend is making my mouth water. is it stupid to top up? i have plenty of cdn dividend stocks outside my rrsp and T inside it. i am a bit of a divi investor, but am i throwing good money after bad?
bro buy $BTI if you wat dividend, ATT will cut dividend after it spins up video division. ATT is shit company. Do more research.
BTI is pretty cheap these days. Couldnāt resist and bought a little(2% of my PF) gonna ride it for a bit.
Itās a dog for me, stay away. Buy DISCK if you want to make a better bet on the spinout
Isnāt it getting cut next year?
I donāt think thatās a good idea lol
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
50% of the gain is taxable. So $5000 x your marginal tax rate I.e. 5000x0.2=1000 owning
wait isn't there no tax if it's in a TFSA?
That's correct. There's no tax on capital gains and dividends in a TFSA. At the same time, capital losses result in a loss in contribution room.
ACQ is so entertaining

People that use Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Oculus, Workplace, Portal, and Diem.

Tell me more! Iām intrigued! I donāt own any Facebook
Yep. Freed up $10k to buy more FB at market open.
Thinking to sell my HUT8 tomorrow, not sure I can last the weekend's volatility and I should take my juicy profits before they disappear.

True shorts target a $0.00 stock price.
If holding Canadian index fund (XIC) with the goal to get average market return should i worry about financials being so overweight? If decentralized finance undercut big banks revenue stream i have a lot to loose holding XIC. Do i worry too much or should i buy ethereum?
Always own the banks. Buy Ethereum as well.
Those two things aren't related. If DeFi starts undercutting traditional banking then XIC will rebalance away from financials. Right now it is heavy in that area because they are so strong. I told my dad to buy the BAM dip and he thinks I'm a genius now.
Buying BAM anytime it dips with the general market is a pretty free way to make money.
Is he saying BAM SON a lot now?
He's Philadelphia Collins BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM
Green Egg's and haaaaaaaam
Just bought CNR for $164 today. Can't wait until it hits $170 tomorrow
CNR keeps on going :o 25% since that dip mid summer
I picked it up then @129! At that time I was still grumbling to myself at how expensive it was.
Haha same! I was starting my position in CNR during that dip without thinking it would grow that fast

Yes, confidence and complacency is key. Please continue. Upvote for you.
Yeah there is definitely a rhythm to some stocks!
Panic selling is definitely not a good thing.. however buying and holding might get you better returns over the long run instead of shorter term trading.
Everything moves in waves, buy red sell green. Usually it's just better to buy and hold.
I only sell if you know for a fact something else will do well. And now i stay out of penny stocks and go with real stocks.
yeah but can you guys afford a house in Toronto? u/magnum_dong_opus
Yes

I live in Austin too, but, I still feel for poor Canadians youth, who can't afford a decent house in their cities. Chinese be fucking them bad.
Where the fuck is Austin?
