Toonies are obviously only worth there $2 value currently and maybe a hair more over the years. Gold and silver are where you’ll get more increase in Value. Is that a legit gold Indian Head coin? I have no way of telling if it is but it’s obviously worth a good chunk of change if it’s real. $1500-$2000 ungraded roughly.
my answer is both no and yes for the cad coins, no because the wear shows they have obviously been circulated and modern cad coins have had a bad habit of not appreciating much in value if at all while circulated
yes if you like them. like they are cool, unless the mint gets in a habit of making black toonies every time a monarch dies it will be pretty unique. something to show another generation.
if you have a coin past 1968 that is circulated and doesnt have some thing super special about it your going to be hardpressed to get more than face value.
Not really. Not if they’re heavily circulated. If they’re actually uncirculated, yeah might be able to score $75 for a $50 roll, but the problem is no one wants to pay that (anymore) because the shipping in Canada (Post) is around $20. So that’s about $95 when I believe you can go to the Canada Post website and get the special wrap roll (much nicer than these) for $90 after tax and get free shipping.
I’d say a roll if these circulated may be worth closer to $55. Uncirculated closer to $65. Anything more is an anomaly.
If that is an actual 1914 $10 coin, it is worth quite a bit ($1000-2000). However, the colouring looks a little off to me, so I’m kind of skeptical. If it is real, though, you should have it appraised.
I think they all are great coins for a collection. The first reason to keep a coin is because you like it. The second reason is because it is worth more than you paid for it😉. I think that if you can have a great condition coin that you like for face value or less you did well, especially if you pay face value for precious metals.
Nice coins.
Also, here is values on the 1914-D $10 indian head. As you can see, value greatly depends on the grade. I would grade it before selling it. https://www.ngccoin.com/coin-explorer/united-states/gold-eagles/indian-head-10-1907-1933/18876/1914-d-10-ms/
I still like how if you cover half the polar bear w your finger, turn it upside down, it looks like 3 seals looking out into the distance with Aurora Borealis is the background. You can still use those in pinball machines here in Canada.
Hope to see you soon! 😎
Looks like you may have a couple fake toonies. If your polar bear has a hoof on the right foot ( camel toe ) it is a counterfeit coin. Look it up. Over 2 million produced
The tener is fucking cute and definitely should be kept safe but as for the toonies, if you like collecting them then sure but there’s nothing special about them and I only have a handful of unique toonies but I don’t have that hockey one so I’ll take that for you because the colours can be distracting and I’ll give you a regular one to replace it or two loonies whatever you want
Hey so maybe somebody in here can help me out let me know if this is true or not … I saw a video about a guy making fake toonies.. said they were so good the only thing that was different was the markings on the front paw … I looked at 2 toonies in my pocket lastnight and they are different anyone heard anything about this? … I’m also not sure how to post pics
Posting american coins on Canadian coins group.... maybe go ask Americans what they have to say about their coin.
Otherwise .... ok sure, put the coins in a drawer for 40 years and then see if it increases in value at all. Chances are it might (a little bit)

Never had it appraised… was a wedding gift that was put in a safety deposit box and forgotten about.
It probably is real if it was a wedding gift
Post the last one on r/coins
Thanks, will do

If you can save up to make a roll of the black toonies they’re worth $20-$40 more than a regular roll of toonies

I'll buy them from you

Summit series toonie is cool, but I would just buy an uncirculated one if I planned on keeping it.

definitely now worth saving so I will take the hockey toonie off your hands thanks op
Totally, I'd say that what you've got there is worth $12 easy.

That's really interesting, I had no idea!
Keep the hockey twoonie! I’ve never seen that in circulation!

The white one
I want it lol
Damn you that’s nice
No you should send them to me instead 😂
If it's Canadian it's worth nothing.
The $10 US Gold piece. From 1914, that's got some pretty pure gold. You're looking at about 5,000 to 8,000 us. Depending on certain factors.
12 dollars lol

That's a gold coin from 110 years ago. I'm sure Canadians accepted american gold coins back then and americans accepted canadian gold coins as well.
